Radiant's Diary

I have a feeling the muscle is part of it, but it doesn't change the fact I want the weight down! Hehe.

My trainer took measurements for me when I had my session and I'll grab my print out of them probably later today when I go to the gym. I've taken them on my own last time I attempted to lose weight, but I was never sure if I was measuring the same places and whatnot.

My trainer had this site where she typed in my wrist size and it gave "average" measurements for other parts of my body. My forearms and neck are small for my bone size, but pretty much everything else is bigger, haha. My arms are close to where they should be, although I do hope to replace some of the flab with fab.

I'm really bummed about my scale moving so slowly. It seems like last time I tried to lose weight, a month and a half in, I had been down 10 pounds! I just don't get it. I'm working out more this time and not eating dorm food. It just doesn't make sense at all and really sucks :(

I totally understand this! But heres what I think is the reasoning for this: Two years ago, I started my diet and exercise(same that I'm doing now) and lost 40lbs in about 4months, it friggin flew off! BUT- I had a few things that I had to quit for good. I went cold turkey on pop and fast food, and those were such a big part of my day before the diet that I had lots of cals to get rid of... But NOW, I've had maybe two cans of pop in the last two years, and I don't eat fast food(tho I will have a hamburger and fries at Perkins and such now and then) and my calorie intake isn't super huge or anything, so I don't have anything to shock my body with again :( lol, i'm probably full of shiznit on this, but its my theory, and I've gotta feel like I have a reason for it, lol.
Just don't get discouraged... its a slow process, but working as hard as you are- it'll happen.

That's actually pretty good reasoning for ya, Jess! I don't quite have the same thing going on, though :( I worked my butt off last time too.. however I think I exercise more this time because my knee is better post-surgery even if it's not amazing yet.

Today I got to the gym for the first time in three days. It felt great to get back, although I had to freaking drag myself there. I walked in and was thinking, "maybe I'll just do the bike and some of the weights".. BUT I ended up doing my whole thing with the bike, weights, and arctrainer. Hopefully I'll be able to go tomorrow without being too hard on myself.

They DO look amazing. Way to go!

I am completely on the same page with you in regards to not moving the scale down as fast as last time. I originally started last March (07) and for the first couple months I was losing insane amounts of weight. There were times where I would be down a whole pound every morning. Oh how I miss that. This time it is just not happening that way. Granted, I think I was working much harder last time on both my food and my exercise, but come on...throw me a bone you stinking scale. I just keep telling myself what people have told you: As long as I am working at it, I will see results. But it sure would be nice to see a nice big dip in the scale soon.

It will happen for both of you, now me on the other hand....LOL!!!

Thanks guys! UGhhhh I went back to bed. It's now 1 30 in the afternoon. I went in to work at 8, for like... a freaking hour, came home and was going to attempt to be awake, but fell back asleep. I think I may make a small lunch and then head to the gym. My friend that goes to the gym but had moved away for the summer to take care of her grandmother is now coming back to town because of some more family drama that she didn't want to explain over the phone. Sooooooo, yea. That's about how that goes. I think she'll ultimately be happier back here for the summer, but I am really feeling bad that things are too stressful for her right now. But she will also be able to go to the gym with me again, so that is nice as well. She got really jealous when I was talking about the gym and she was stuck without one.. so it'll be good for us both.

Anyway. Yes. Small lunch and then gym. That is my plan.

Holy hunnies- thats a crazy workout! Good job- hell, you probably burned way more than you ate today!

Good job Radiant! I used to love hiking and I would easily burn a pound of fat from one of my 8 to 10 mile hikes. They sure tone up your ass and legs too if your going up a mountain, even a nice small one. Definitely try to get more into that, you will be amazed at the results. Did you go alone or with someone? Is it a marked trail? You lucky!

I went with my friend BreeAnna. She's like, gorgeous, skinny, long legs, hahaha. She actually auditioned for America's Next Top Model a couple of weeks ago. But yeah, we went up together and plan to do more hikes, so I'm excited! She did say when we got to the top yesterday that it was the fastest she had ever made it up the hill, so that made me feel REALLY good. I may be a little bigger, but I push myself.

That is a picture of where I went. There is a trail that goes straight up that you can see, but I don't do that one. The other trail winds over to left into the tree area and pops out at the M on top.

There are so many beautiful places to go hiking around here, it's amazing.

HOLY COOOOOWWW!!! :) Whoooooo!!! SMOKING me SMOKIN me.....:iagree:

...sounds LIKE someone WANTS results and WANTS them NOW.....;)

I hate it when that happens! I've been working out for 3 months and i'm at the dreaded plateau, I'll have an AWESOME day and then i'll realize that the scale is the same or even higher than before!!

Just stick with it and persevere and know that you are doing worlds of good and even if the scale sometimes seems to be stuck the weight WILL come off if you stick with it!!

:) thanks. I think I am going to take today off of exercising. I've noticed that my body sometimes needs it's little breaks in order for the scale to move down, oddly enough. I'll take my bag with me for the gym when I go to work on the off change that I'm really restless or whatnot, but probably will just skip it today.

You keep pluggin' along too!

Pretty! Is that Missoula? If I really wanted to I could climb around the Rims here, but I DON"T really want to, lol. I prefer the gym
