Rachie's Diary

I'm stumped, Rachie!

I dunno what to say....all I know is that if you're consuming less than you need, your body WILL lose weight--sometimes it just takes a few weeks. Look at Kim! She was a madwoman consuming way too little and her weight stayed still, but then it dropped dramatically! You'll lose soon! :)

Congrats on running!!! :D

I've been stumped too Val :( I think I'm going to continue to try eating more calories I figure in the long run I'll be able to decrease if I want. Plus now that I want to do more exercise I don't want to starve my body.

I did see a slight drop on the scales this morning! 136.8lbs - it may only be about half a pound but heck, I'm taking it!! Now I need to keep seeing those drops - even half a pound a week would be nice!!!

Thanks for stopping by Val - I'll look in on you in just a moment :)

:) Way to go on that running:) Tha's going to be
me someday out there tearing up the tracks!Keep
up the great work Tammy

Thanks for the support, Rach!

I'll take half a pound any day! Congrats! :D

Right back atchya hon! I hear you on the half pound! At this stage I'm grateful for small changes down rather than the big ones up!

It certainly will be you! I'll be checking in on you to make sure it is ;)

So I haven't been posting totals etc - naughty me. I think I've been doing okay though :)

Yesterday I ate a couple of slices of pizza for lunch :( It was a meeting and I couldn't resist. I ate my snack of a banana before I went and it just wasn't enough to resist the temptation. However, for dinner I ate tilapia, brussel sprouts and squash/zucchini roasted in the oven - soooo yummy!

My calories for yesterday were 1685 so not bad at all. So if maintenance is 2200 cals then that's 515 I was down for the day :) So technically I should be able to lose a pound a week..... TECHNICALLY!!!

I don't want to speak too soon but the scales was down another 0.4lbs today. I see no change in measurements but my body is beginning to firm up again.

I marginally increased my calories this week from an average of ~1400 to an average of ~1550. I also worked out an extra day and started running again :)

I have to be really careful over the weekend but I'm encouraged that the scales are changing. Slowly but surely... my workout this morning was a bit short but I am physically tired! I'm not used to running again yet! I took it easy today but hope to get a long, slow run in tomorrow. I'm going to plan my route this morning!

I'm beginning to make wiser choices and have been looking at labels and reaching for fruit before something that won't fuel my body as well. Sometimes that's hard because those things taste great for a while... but they make me feel gross later!! I'm roasting a chicken tonight so lots of veggies with that - yum! Should have enough chicken to make a nice big salad for dinner tomorrow as well. This is making me hungry!! Hmmm... banana or apple??? Maybe both.... :)

Howdy Rachie,
Congrats on the scale heading south again
and a couple slices of pizza here and there won't hurt ya just
don't get hooked like I do at times.Your doing great!!I'll be over
for dinner by the way 'I LOVECHICKEN" lol have a gr8 weekend
Tammy

Thanks ladies! Val -love the new avatar!!

Okay guys, I had a really horrible accident on Friday. I fell on a glass and severed a bunch of tendons in my wrist!!! So no working out for me any time soon!! It was my right hand so it's hard to do anything!!! I had an operation on Saturday and just started physio and will be okay but I have a splint for 6 weeks and no lifting anything for 6 weeks beyond that!!!

I'm still going to try and be healthy and can at least walk a bit but beyond that, not much!!! The scales dropped although I am sure it's injury-related. I'll update for grins. Might as well get something positive out of this!!!

I have lots of people helping me out so I'm okay. Just it's all a bit f'd up!!!

Ooooh OUCH!!! :( Bummer!!! Jeez, severed?? Oooh I WINCED at that. Well, Rachie, don't be a stranger--keep posting! Hey, on the bright side (in regards to exercise--I understand how important the functionality of a dominant hand is ;) ) at least it wasn't your ankle... AH! I hope it heals real fast and isn't too painful, Rach. Have a good day! :)

I am so sorry that happened to you!! How horrible!! I hope everything mend so well and you never have anymore trouble with it. Hang in there we are cheering for youy!!:hug2:

Jeeez louise missy - you take care of yourself.. andd maybe wrap yourself in bubble wrap or something...

hope you mend quickly ..

Thanks Mal :) Bubble wrap would be a good thing. I'm definitely very accident prone!!

Yep, can you believe it? 1 severed and 3 lacerated :( I'm typing left handed right now and have this big old splint on my poor right hand :( I'm working on my physio so that's exercise for now. Sad that I can't workout better for a while but I'll make do :) They gave me vicodin and I had morphine in the hospital - holy crap that stuff is frightening!

I am so sorry that happened to you!! How horrible!! I hope everything mend so well and you never have anymore trouble with it. Hang in there we are cheering for youy!!:hug2:

Thanks for the hug :) I'm working as much as sensible on the physio and hope it does well. there was no swelling when they removed the post-surgical splint so that was a big plus.

Thanks for all the support ladies. I'll do my best to stay in touch although this left hand typing thing is a wee bit slow :)

Morphine, eh? *thinks back to a story when was in high school* I HATE pharmaceuticals. Eh, I basically hate most drugs at this point in my life. I hope the pain isn't too bad, and YES I was wondering about your ability to type--left handed explains that!! Glad there was no swelling! Are you still going to continue dieting while you recover?

Hey Val,

Thanks for stopping by :) I hate pharmaceuticals too! I'm off my vicodin now! But still on antibiotics and NSAIDs to help prevent swelling.

I don't think I'll be dieting per se because I need to feed my body right for it to heal. But I am going to follow my weight and try and incorporate light exercise so I don't turn to mush :) I was just beginning to firm up nicely darn it so this sucks.

I think I will watch the scales because I am so immobile right now and wouldn't want the weight to creep up on me.

Well I'm back to work this afternoon. Haven't done much but putting a glove on my hand takes me a long ass time!! I tried a few things around the lab. The glove was the hardest but also amusing. I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon!!!!

I am almost back to normal on my eating. I'm sure the scale will increase a little and I'm not even bothering to look at the moment (Aunt Flo). Hand hurts today :( Physio is getting better. I see the doc tomorrow so hope he's happy with my progress!!!

I'm doing okay at the moment. I'm attempting cryptic crosswords to help me get back into using my brain. I've been finding it hard to concentrate for some reason.

Other than that not much going on :)

I know what you mean. My brain is better since I've been sober (Day 14) but I still feel totally stupid, like I don't read enough or something. I used to write better, too. I have Dumb Jock Syndrome. Uuuuuuhhhggh...

Glad you're better, but sorry about the pain! I hope you're back to normal soon!

Wooo, my stitches are out. My hand is so much less itchy now!! Doc says it looks good and keep on with the physio :)

My appetite is almost back to normal - I missed wanting food!! My weight is holding pretty steady. I'm 134.8 today although I'm tempted to drink lots of water and gain 17lbs like the guy on biggest loser - kidding!

Cruches are doable and I reckon some light and adjusted home exercising is going to be good to add.

14 days is awesome for no alcohol Val! I have started drinking a glass or two at the weekend but none on weekdays still. I feel better for it and alcohol clearly won't aid my recovery!!

Clearly. Let's see, today is Day 16. It hasn't been too bad, but there are instances where I'm about to order a beer or bring a bottle of wine to a friend's house and I'm like, "Oh. right."

SO GLAD you're healing and the stitches are out already!! Yiah!!
