scale might be up -b ut how are measurements doing?

Thanks Val! Great to see you back!!
Yes I feel like I am working a lot for very little. I hope that my calories and food intake will reveal what is my problem. I think protein is a biggie so I'm working on that
I was really miserable this morning thinking why do I feel so bloated everywhere then I remembered it's almost that time of the month. That's a relief because now I know why the scales are giving me problems! I'm still up but now know that it's pesky Aunt Flo!!
I'll be back to checking on my intake today but it explains why I have been craving carbs and junk food this weekend!!
Here's to the new week![]()
Oh I am sorry to hear about that! It's almost that time for me too! I feel for you. Why is it, do you think, that we crave all that we shouldn't have at that time? You ever wondered? LOL I'm crazy I know. But I crave chocolate during that time BAD! I hope you don't get down with it and your weight drops when it's over. Have a great day!!![]()
I love that stores now sell half sandwiches -many of the places here do as well -it's nice with a cup of soup... and you don't feel totally gluttonous..
mmm raspberries - lots of good fiber in those -not to mention sweet like candyenjoy
I think it's easier to lose weight in the winter too. For one I am mostly by myself and don't have to cook for my kids. Two i amke soup cause i am never warm and it's very low fat. And it's not so hot and so exercise helps to keep the blood flowing!! Makes me warmer!! Hope you have a great day today!!![]()
I agree with Mechelle, it's much easier for me to lose weight in the winter--I drink less beer and there are less birthdays and parties.
Look, I know very well genetic makeup has an enormous influence on where a girl carries her weight--and our bodies are different, you seem to carry more weight in your tummy and I carry more in my ass and thighs. Also, fat will cover upa six pack even if you have it (well, a four pack). BUT here's what I do in my routine, maybe you might consider it, it keeps me flat there (except for when I am sitting in a chair, then hello bulge!). SO I do crunches, legs down, legs up at 90 degrees, legs straight up. But while I'm doing that, I concentrate very hard on the contraction and visualize the muscles. I also do the obliques, and the important thing is I do them until I start to burn--then I keep going until it's too much. After that, I get into the machine where you hold yourself up with your arms bent, and lift your legs up. I do 3 sets of 10 of those, and then I get into the machine where you lay down and essentially do the same thing, but they are different types of leg lifts. I also do one leg at a time. I also use the thing that keeps you up at a 50 degree angle or so while you do lower back and more oblique work.
What's your routine like?
