Rachie's Diary

Rachie, you sounds like you're totally headed in the right direction and strong, and determined--hope your foot is healed and congratulations!!

Thanks chica! :)

So the big weigh in was this morning - week one of my restarted plan...

And (drumroll please) wait for it, yes I lost the grand total of..... "0"

Funny thing though, I'm not that bothered. I feel all pumped up after the gym today. I burned 350 calories on the arc trainer. I have been improving my eating habits (bringing lunch, eating more veggies etc) and I know that this effort will make a difference in the long-term :)

I am quite excited to really get into the exercise again now that I know that my foot can withstand a little exercise. Still going to take it fairly easy for now and listen to the warning signs my body gives me. I want this foot to heal (still sadly find using heal and foot in the same sentence as mildly amusing) and don't want a prolonged injury.

So the goal is to incorporate the exercise as often as I can this week, keep improving on my eating and hope that by next week, I see a difference on the scale. I am also keeping track of measurements but will do that once a month. :)

Thursday... already?

This week has gone by quickly for me - yay it's almost the weekend :jump:

So I did well at the gym again today. My foot has been doing okay but I do feel the pain when I walk fast or really flex my toes. However, the arc trainer was great today. I burned 450 calories and got my heart pumping well :)

I am hopeful for Wednesday of next week. I think weighing on a weekly basis is helping, despite not losing the first week back at it. I feel that I want to have achieved something at the end of the week and the anticipation is high.

I ate well yesterday. Had a yummy tuna sandwich for lunch and then baked chicken with veggies for dinner. *edit* must start bringing something for breakfast*

Have persuaded the boyfriend to hit the gym with me on Saturday morning. Unlike my gym buddy, he's prepared to go for an hour which means some extra aerobic stuff and some weights too :)

With the exercise and eating well, I'll eat my darn hat if I don't lose weight this week.... *prepares salt and pepper for hat eating*

Thanks Sprite :)

So I kicked my own butt again at the gym today. Another 440 calories :jump:
I am bright red right now, I look like someone has replaced my head with a beet

I ate well last night, salad w/ low fat dressing and a mini-panini roll baked in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil, a little bit of mozarella and roasted red peppers. yummy!
I was hungry afterwards, well I thought I was - I always get that when I watch TV. So I sat there crunching away on some romaine lettuce. Sounds unappetizing but it was really all I needed. Like a bowl of something to be stuffing my face with while I watched tv :)

I am going out tonight for dinner so will eat light at lunch and choose wisely! (I hope).

I WILL lose weight this week - my body may be upset with me slamming it at the gym but that's what it gets for getting chubby on me! I have four weddings to attend (i.e. lots of photos :() in the next 8 months and I am determined to reclaim territory on the scales!!

Hahaha. I know what you mean. When my body gets stiff and sore from working out, I'm like "What the hell is wrong with you??? I don't work out, you get bitchy and decide to get fat. I do work out, you get bitchy and decide to get achy. What's your damn problem?" It's quite a piss-off. But I suppose it's all about finding the happy medium.
Enjoy your workout with your boyfriend today. How nice of him to come to the gym with you. :) My boyfriend will be back on Friday and then I'll have my gym partner back too.

Thanks Sunny! Good to see you back - hope the MCAT scores will go your way, which I am positive they will :)

The boyfriend has ditched me for a fishing gear convention. He did offer to take me with him.... ermmm.... no thanks! I do quite enjoy fishing as long as there's a beer in my hand ;) But fishing gear.... and a whole convention - nahhhhh. Luckily the gym is just a few blocks from the convention center so he'll drop me off so I won't have to worry about parking :jump:

I almost backed out of the gym today. Feeling lazy but I ate rather a rich meal last night. I had steak with gorgonzola on top, mashed potatoes and green beans. We split a desert which was naughty but hey - at least I didn't eat the whole thing myself right?!!

So that was my naughty meal for the week. Back on track today. I figure an hour or so in the gym will ensure a good workout and shift some of the calories I consumed last night. I might throw in some weights today - gawd I am daring!

Besides that, I have the exciting task of fitting a new brake light on my car and then the world is my oyster... I really need new clothes but.... I want and need to wait until I lose some of this weight! All my everyday t-shirts I wear to work have little holes in them where they catch on the top of my jeans :( I DO need more workout clothes though... hmmm... thinking about balancing necessity and waiting for the weight to drop. Maybe I'll hold off on the new gym clothes for a month. Something to work towards. The other new clothes will be when I get some more money in that jar nearer to Xmas :)

Afternoon all :)

Had a great workout on Saturday. I was exhausted by the end of it! I was in the gym for just over an hour. I got in some aerobic stuff which made it through 550 calories and I also did some weights... I am still a bit sore today from the weights!

I skipped the gym yesterday because I was absolutely exhausted! I really wanted to go everyday but I know that I have to let my body recover so I can keep up the good work :) I am going to the gym after work today for an hour. Then tomorrow till Friday I'll do my usual 35-40 minutes before work.

I also realized it's almost time for Aunt Flo's visit so am a bit dubious about whether the scales will drop this week. However, I am going to persist and just see what happens. I am working my butt off so hope to see it change but won't be too disappointed now that I have remembered the time of the month.

Work is a bit frantic today but I hope I can be out of here by 6 to hit the gym!!! Will try and visit some diaries in a bit!!

Damn aunt flo. But at least there's usually a nice little drop in weight once it's over. :D I hope you see some weight loss this week. Have a great time at the gym.

Day Before Weigh in *Quakes in Fear*

Okay so my weekly exercise is over with. I now just have to wait until tomorrow to wait to see what I have achieved! I have burned 2,725 calories at the gym this week :eek2: I was hoping for more but I just don't have it in me this week! I gave it my all and I certainly burned a lot of calories! edit* I put my weight as being 5lbs less into the machines at the gym because I don't trust them when they tell me my calories burned - I think they over-estimate :)*

Not that I am anticipating failure (yeah right) but I know that I am having an effect on my body already. I love that feeling when I get back to the gym and my muscles feel a bit sore - makes me remember how hard I worked!

I have been good this week. I did have a splurge meal but it wasn't THAT bad. Also I turned down homemade peach cobbler with ice-cream on Sunday night. Yes, I really want to see a difference this week! Although I have to admit that I took a portion of cobbler home for a reward if I lose a pound this week :)

Suppose I'd better get back to work. It's extremely quiet around here and there's no better time to work than when the other students are AWOL!!!!! :jump:

Thanks hon. YES we will make it. You're going to hit the goal weight by Halloween and I will by the weddings too :)

Yeah I think the machines are a bit optimistic. This way I am probably getting a more accurate reading and if I am wrong then hey - I burn more calories than I think!!! Thanks for the good luck :) I am going to weigh at home and at the gym to be doubly sure!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my journal Rachie. I hope to catch up with you as soon as possible.

Hello! It sounds like you are really busy already so no worries. Sounds like you are keeping very active though :) :)

Just a quick post to say... I am one pound down. Wow that was a hard pound to get over the last couple of weeks but it's a pound and I am just that bit closer to my goal! One more next week? Keeping my fingers crossed and my gym kit at the ready! :)

Yay a lb is great I am begging for a lb or 2 now, remember 1st srating out you would lose 2-4 and it kind of spoils ya,now it's like cmon a lb .5 something just not a GAIN! Congrats on the gym, have a nice day Tammy

Thanks you guys, I hope the rest are more compliant. One pound in two weeks is definitely a victory but I'd like to be working a bit more off than that. Patience though, patience.

My gym is amazingly open all weekend and even on Monday yay! Ooh and my gym buddy can't make it tomorrow so I can go earlier!! I think I can get an hour in tomorrow :) So I'm going for another pound this week!

And now back to work. Arghhh so much to do!!!

It seems like everybody had lost at least a little bit in the past few days. It's making it really hard for me to not weigh myself! Agghhh!
