Ohhh...a marathon together!

I'm sure you'd do great in a marathon with a few more months of training. You're already doing great. I can't even think about marathons yet... makes my head spin!
Your food sounded so delicious that my tummy started to growl as I was reading it. lol I guess it's lunchtime.

Heloo, not so sure about a full marathon yet either!!! Sounds like torture to me :) It's lunchtime again. I'm having a not-so-hungry day today so far...
I have a big bowl of tomato soup with some crackers though - yummy! :D
 
Hi CG and Tammy, thanks for stopping by!!! :D Always nice to have visitors :)

I am actually going to work a regular work day today!!! Well 9 hours instead of the usual 12 anyway :D So I am feeling all inspired by the half marathon and the 10k and am going to stop by the mall on the way home and finally buy myself a new pair of running shoes :) yay! I am also going to look at dresses for the wedding I am going to although I am not allowed to buy until I get into the 120's!!!

Fun fun, it's a gorgeous day out there and boyfriend is out of town for the night so I need to keep myself occupied. Otherwise I'll just go home and comfort eat, or boredom eat anyway :eek: So now I will get home, do some cleaning (oh the thrills of my life) and sit down and enjoy "House". Then it's off to bed and early to rise in the morning. Have to be up at 6am as usual for the gym!

I read in my marathon training book that the week before the race you should stop cross-training, reduce/stop weight lifting and stop sprints 4 days before. So if that holds true for the 10k I guess I am a bit limited to what I can do. I reckon walking at an incline and then jogging at an easy pace for the 45 minutes will be good. I might have to do some stretching of the old muscles too :)
 
It feels good to get a ncie new pair of running shoes. Mine are starting to fall apart, so I need some too. Have fun looking at dresses!

Hellooo, Well I didn't buy any running shoes because I like adidas and they had only one pair, in different colors and I didn't really like them :( I wandered round the mall for an hour and had a good look at stuff then I went home and ate sushi :) Gym this morning was light running and cycling. I am going to do some stretching this evening and continue to drink plenty of water :)

I just went out and bought a notebook that will be my training log!! I'm excited!!! :cool:
 
Good morning right back at you! Thanks for the encouragement you guys. I like the idea of a training log so I can see my progress :) Talking about progress, there's a major lack of it in the weight loss department! grrr. I am stuck at 132.5lbs :( I dropped weight training and lowered my aerobic exercise this week though as a rest for the 10k. This morning I jogged and walked 3 miles and took my time so my legs aren't tired for race day. I think I had 12 minutes per mile so I was really taking it easy. I jogged the first 2 and walked the last one. It was quite nice actually and I still worked up a little bit of a sweat but wasn't out of breath. I am going to map out the half marathon training this weekend after the 10k :)
 
you are a running machine :) that's so awesome...

i wouldn't worry sosm uch about the number on the scale -it's not rising so you're making aton of progress... i'd be willing to wager your measurements are changing somewhat thuogh :)
 
Thank you Mal :) I do feel like I am doing well. I should learn to ignore the scale. I'm going to write down my goals in terms of inches and running goals and the scales can maybe be hidden away! I know you are trying to weigh less and I am considering the same. Maybe once a week for the April challenge... I'm staying positive though! Okay, I'm trying. That's what everyone tells me anyway, Rach, you are very trying ;)
 
The scale can be a real bitch sometimes. But if you're eating well and exercising, your body is changing whether the scale reflects it or not. I think it's an excellent idea to only weigh once a week. That's what I try to do. But sometimes it's really hard to resist.
 
Scales are a tricky situation. Once a week is best if the number bums you out--I only doit every day to track it and check out the fluctuations--but as you know, that can be frustrating. You're doing great! Keep it up!
 
i am a once-a-week kind of girl.

i weigh in on fridays to go along with the monthly challenges.

but yeah, my scale can definitely be a bitch. and a liar.

Thanks Sunnydee - you are correct :) I think I'm going to work my butt off and stick to the weigh-ins for the monthly challenge only, at least for April :D

I do like seeing the fluctuations but as you say it can get frustrating. I think I am just on one of these mini-plateaus and it'll look good soon!! Thanks! :D

Yep - I think I'm going to become a once-a-week kind of girl too :) And you guys have given me my name for my scale... I took the liberty of bolding the keywords I chose from your posts. My scale will now be called "The Bitch" also for variation, "The Liar" and to mix things up a little more "The Lying Bitch" LOVE IT!!!! :D
