Rachie's Diary

So I boosted my calories up a bit this afternoon with a snack and I made sure to add some of that oil from my lunch into fitday. I'm on about 800 with brekkie and lunch and my snack.
I think I am actually leaving work before 7pm today. I do still have A LOT of writing to do for a paper I have to submit to my boss ASAP! But I feel kind of blehhhh cause I didn't have much more than 35 mins at the gym this morning. So I am REALLY going to do my extra training tonight in the form of a run :) I've already entered a 3-miler into fitday. I figure this won't be overkill as I am craving some more exercise and I didn't run at the gym today and 3 miles shouldn't be too bad --although I need to drink some water!. It would just be a real shame to have to remove that exercise from my log!

rachiebabe how long have you lived in the US for?

Uhoh? Do I sound American? No offence anyone - just want to hang on to my Welshness!!! :p

I have been here for.... um...... 3 and a half years methinks. I lose track sometimes! It'll be 4 years in August - cripes! :D

how come you went there from weeeeyyullls :) give me a low down on your life so far
rachie, this is your life *takes out red folder*

Haha - you funny :D Well I went to Uni and did a Biology degree and then I bummed around Wales for a year earning some money while I applied to graduate school in Virginia because I'd already been here to do an internship for my degree :) Also I met someone when I was here the first time  so I had an ulterior motive for returning ;) Soo... I got accepted at Grad school to study Biochemistry (I know- dorky right ;)) and here I am (still with the guy too) talking to some chick from the West Midlands with THE red folder :D

awww thats so cute :) i hope i have nice things happen to me like that too!
(i love biochemistry  but shh)

Too late now Sophie - your secret is out :p ;) You will have nice things happen to you because you are a great person and you ALREADY have great things happening to you! Sounds like you kicked some exam butt and you are also number 16 in the country at orienteering :) Plus you are going to Paris this week! Hello!?! Cool things going on hon! :D Can't wait for you to get back and tell us all about your travels:)

Somethings going right at the moment, the scales dropped to 131.5lbs this morning, I think next week it'll head up because of aunt flow. I'm already cranky as hell at work so I know it's coming. grrrrr, I need some chocolate :D

5.5lbs away from 126lbs and deciding whether to continue with the weight loss. Wonder how long it'll take... I haven't noticed any difference in the last several weeks and . I definitely notice a difference from the start of the year, 6.5lbs down to date and 17.5lbs down from 2 years ago when I began losing weight. I never got this low the first time though and it's still coming off, slowly but surely. I am definitely getting into a wiser-choice groove when it comes to food. I still have plenty to work on but it'll come, soon enough - I hope!

Wow, nice work Rachie! You're sooo close to 126! That must feel great. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Keep up the great work.

Woo Hoo!! Nice scales to wake up to!!

You are doing amazing :)

Thank you both :D I am excited but I find myself on the verge of self-sabotage a lot! I am actually eating a chocolate muffin right now. So bad but I was craving chocolate so badly! I love the top part of muffins so I might just eat that bit!! Not so bad then :)

I'm really tired today and have been working on typing a report all day and it's just frustrating. I can't seem to finish it!!! I should probably just get my lab work done and then go home and work on it but I can't risk going home and being lazy!! Oh well, it's almost the weekend. I have plans for lots of exercise so my official weigh in day is a good one! (separate to the 2lbs a week March challenge)

look when i have those cravings i also give into them because i know they won't go away lol but then i plan my entire day nutrition wise around it.
hope you're done soon with that report so you can go home and relax and enjoy this weekend. i will probably do some relaxing myself this weekend. finaly lol

great for the loss :D:D you're really doing awesome

Lena

I agree sometimes it's better to have a little of what you want vs. waiting and eating a lot of something else later that doesn't satisfy you.

You are doing so great! I wish I were as close to my goal as you were. :( I'll be there one day though! Keep up the great work.

Wow, you really are doing great! Getting in the groove -- that's the main thing. It doesn't matter if you reach your goal, but never do that!

I agree with you on planning around those cravings Lena - it's good to have some of what you enjoy and don't limit yourself too much :) Report done and dusted! Now I am enjoying the weekend - hope you do the same!!

Thanks Photocrazed :) You are doing well too and I really hope your knee improves - then you'll be rolling along :D Thanks for visiting!

Lol, never heard that expression before...!

Have a great weekend. :) You're doing so well!

I can't take credit for the phrase Sprite :) I think I saw wishes using it first and thought it was cute :D Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Tom, yep, getting in the groove is good :) I almost decided to sit at home and not run today but I am going to drink up a bit more water then do at least 4 miles :D

I am in a fantastic mood today because Wales just beat England in a wicked rugby match!! Wales v England is the most important game of the year so I am soooo relieved! I had to watch on the internet and shriek at the computer screen.

So I did go for my run yesterday. Piece of advice. Never try to run 4 miles after eating way too much at lunch - I ate chicken, peas, potatoes and gravy and had a glass of wine.... then some coffee and then I ran after trying to take on some water to compensate...

NO

Not good.

I felt like I was running with a brick in my stomach. Very uncomfortable feeling and left me wondering if I was going to see my lunch again. so nasty.

but I ran 3.5 - 4 miles... need to figure out how much. Time wasn't good but you can't always get good times and the act of running itself was worth it at the end of the day :)

Got a bit merry for St Paddy's. Don't feel too bad today but definitely not in great running shape again! I went for a 2 mile get the cobwebs out of my hair run. I felt awesome on the first part of the run but the way back sucked. I felt dehydrated and out of breath, I think most of my discomfort was mental because as soon as I saw my apartment I felt great again and picked up my speed :)

Not sure what I'll feel like tomorrow but I need to do a 5-mile run at the start of the week. Maybe tomorrow morning or evening... not sure yet as I don't want to push it.

Weigh in day tomorrow. Think I might be around the same as last week though, I have gone up since my low Thursday weight although my 5-day average is 132.1lbs.

We'll see in the morning!!!

I hear ya. I don't watch Rugby, but Montreal beat Toronto in hockey last night, which is probably much the same to me as Wales beating England is to you. But probably only Canadians would get the whole Montreal/Toronto thing. lol

I had a similar experience yesterday. It wasn't because I had a full stomach, so I don't really know what caused it. I was running on the treadmill and I got a brutal stitch in my right side. I had stretched before running, so I don't know why it happened. I kept running, in hopes that the stitch would just go away. It eventually did, but for a minute there I thought I might DIE! Not nice!

Sounds similar to me :D Yay for Montreal!

Sometimes I can have a great run but other times it all goes wrong! I'd like to be running 5 miles a couple of times a week but I can't seem to get into doing that. It was too dark outside this morning to get in my 5 miles :(
