My lovelies! Oh, how I have neglected you!
I'm back now! As Derrick said, life has been busy and I've just not had the time.
Updates for me!
1. We've had house-guests on and off for the last 3 weeks. It's meant lots of late nights and lots of cleaning and lots of feeling like I have to "entertain". I hate having guests. I like a quiet life at home!
2. Work is insane. Summer holidays have hit and I'm working between 60-70 hours a week, including two nights a week which has fucked with my sleeping something awful.
3. Work is also incredibly stressful. I've found out I'm not an emotional eater though--I just get very lethargic and don't want to do anything but sleep when I'm sad, but have not been reaching for food!
4. I've managed to avoid putting on any weight and have actually lost 3lb in the last 10 days. Working so much means I have no time to snack and am usually just grabbing some fruit from the house in the morning as can't take big meals with me!!
Luckily my friends leave tomorrow, so I get blissful peace! Me and Yank have decided (when I get paid tomorrow) that we are doing a week of only fresh foods. Fresh pasta, make my own sauce, fresh veg, fruit, meat and ingredients. Nothing I make will be in a tin or frozen! The good thing about working so much is that I have quite a bit of money (for me, anyway!) at the moment so although buying fresh is more expensive, I'm hoping it'll be a fun way to learn to cook new meals and something me and Yank can do together.
Will let you guys know what recipes I come up with! Also--NO CHEESE FOR A WEEK!
My new favourite dish has been half a cup of pasta with chicken stock/gravy. It sounds VILE but the pasta isn't many calories and the stock is barely any and I don't add any salt. Much better than using red sauce and half a ton of cheese! Delllllicious!
I've not made it to the gym in over a month. I'm working approx 10-13 hours a day and simply don't have the time. Excuses, excuses. But, my work does mean that I'm walking between 3-8 miles a day depending on my shift. I feel pretty healthy!
