Put that down, fatty! (For the last time!!)

Nicely done Hana! Good luck with the scale!

You may need to give P a wide berth for a while. Not the direction you want to be going. On the plus side you'd get your water in for the day.

Oh Han! I, too, had to look up MDMA :)blush5:) but then, I'm a fossil, in comparison to you. I hope the scales are kind, my friend xo

Yeahhhh, not my scene really :/ Nothing wrong with a bit of bud but no way I'm doing anything like that. Me and Yank said to him that we are staying in and watching Crimmus movies in our pants together :) Our new mattress FINALLY arrived so we are in king size heaven tonight back in our old room rather than on our lumpy bed in our spare room. Very much wishing I could have a drinky this evening (got that Friiiiiiday feeling AND I'm off work today!) but going to stick to my hot chocolate and fizzy water.

The scales are not being kind this morning for no reason whatsoever because I've been literally perfect for 3 days and haven't drunk wine and have exercised every damn day so I'm not overly happy. But I know I'll see a drop soon. Even more incentive to not drink tonight.

Gonna clean today, have a nap this afternoon, wrap some presents and mayyyyybe go for a swim when Yank gets home from work. Know the pool is busy after 6pm though and have cripppppppling anxiety about being practically nekkid in front of pool full of randoms. I got stuck in the pool a few times this week because someone particularly gorgeous got in just as I was about to get out and then I had to wait until they have finished their swim and left before I could grab my towel and flee to safety! I'm ridiculous.

Have a good day everyone <3 Thanks for the love x

You are ridiculous, but in the most wonderful way. Good or bad any scale read at the moment is pretty meaningless. Your body is in flux and who knows what it will do in the short term. The only certainty is that if you stick to your new plan it will start heading the right direction with gusto soon enough. Happy Friday!

Ha ha Han. Yep, you're ridiculous, but in a really wonderful, funny way! I would do the same(still!). Those scales will move very soon sweets! Go Han!!!

Know you guys are right but the scales have gone UP this morning :( I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Food for yesterday came in at 1400 and I've swum 4 times this week for an hour at least. Bit disheartened. I've given up my favourite thing and it's had literally no effect on my weight. But I guess that's just "so far". Got to stick with it.

Working tonight so calories will be perfect today--1200 maximum.

Am very glad I came into work early to avoid a binge as I feel I could eat literally anything and everything at the moment. I just searched the office for chocolate and i don't even like chocolate. Sigh. Not in a good mood.

Food for today will be as followed

Breakfast: rice cakes (80)
Lunch: crackers x 2 with marmite (112) rice cakes x 3 with hummous (150)
Dinner: chicken curry with brown rice (640)
Snacks: sparkling water (0) low-fat crisps (74)

Total: 1056

1200 calories are very low for a grown woman, maybe your body is fighting back? Generally it can take a while for changes to kick in. I know it´s hard to ignore the scale when it´s doing things you don´t like but eating reasonable amounts of healthy food can do nothing but make you feel better in the long run.

I agree with LaMa. I think you are eating at the calories you did when you drank.

Vee and I used this as a starting point for our calories and it has worked as shown. There are other calorie calculators out there that are more simple, but vary quite a bit in their suggestions.

Not drinking something that dehydrates you and exercising will both cause your weight to increase, but your fat is decreasing. I promise. Even if the scale doesn't budge or rebounds some more your clothes will start to fit better.

Hang in there!

Thanks guys--Will have a look at that link when I'm not at work Q and see what I should be doing. I figured 1200 was about right for weight loss but maybe I should be at the 1400-1600 mark. I will def meet that tonight as having friends over. The first big test without my beloved vino! They are not big drinkers luckily but I have a sneaky G&T hidden away somewhere in case it gets a bit much but I'm feeling pretty okay about it. Started work at 7 this morning (yawwwwn) and then finishing at 3 and meeting Yank at the pool for a swim. The scales were fucking UP AGAIN this morning. Seriously. I'm up to 218 for no apparent reason :( I've been sooooo good. Will take your advice and keep on keeping on. My jeans feel less tight today and I've not felt bloated or had heartburn since I started swimming and stopped drinking so I know it's doing my body good. Sure my liver is thanking me, even if the scales stubbornly refuse to do ANYTHING AT ALL. :banghead:

Lunch will be rice cakes & hummous and then I'm going to do Slimming World baked chicken tonight which is better than KFC. Will do some sweet potato fries and some salad as well. I've saved £35 since I quit the wine and I won £25 on a scratch card yesterday so am enjoying saving a bit of extra money. Am drinking insane amounts of sugar free sparkling water though... Although at 4 bottles for £1.50 it's not going to break the bank like the wine did ;)

Right, back to work (I mean coffee...). Will post food and workout later xo

Also, do you guys have shared ownership in the states? Me and Yank (and by Me and Yank I mean just Me because he doesn't take ANY bloody interest in anything that isn't manchild related) are looking at buying a house but need to save up a bit more of a deposit and we are looking at this shared ownership stuff where you just get a loan for like 25% or 50% of the house value and then can buy more percentage later on. So if a house costs 200,000 then you would buy half at 100,000 and only need a 10% deposit which is easier to save. *shrug* Sick of renting so gonna get my saving face onnnn.

Saving money by getting healthy sounds like a VERY good plan! AFAIK (not a doctor here!) you (as a woman) can do 1200 kcal a day for a maximum of two weeks if you´re in a hurry but then you have to dial it up again. Listen to your jeans for the moment, they know best!

I hope the outing went well. Congrats on the jeans feeling looser. That's fat loss/muscle gain if the weight goes up while the pants get looser. That's the best because lean body mass burns more calories so it's future weightloss. The alternate beverage consumption will taper off fairly quickly, but like you said no big deal if it doesn't.

I've never heard of shared ownership. We have rent-to-own which is usually financially unfavorable to the buyer and only available on smaller/older starter homes. They call it "rent" part "rent" because it wouldn't be legal to charge that much interest, but it requires low/no down payment and a lower monthly payment.

I'm guessing that home ownership is really difficult there so that something like shared ownership is needed. I'd say that if you can wait a while and get into a better place or financial circumstance then seriously consider that option. We waited until we moved back home from the city and so we didn't buy a house until around age 33. The advantage for us is that we are in a house that is to our liking without a need to upgrade.

"Rent or buy" is sort of the age old conundrum around here. For years folks mocked me for renting, "you're throwing money away!" Long about 2007-2008, the advantages of renting reared their head in about the ugliest way imaginable, and a lot of people I know got in all sorts of financial trouble. Your apartment complex suddenly being worth half as much as it was two years ago has fairly minimal effects on your life.

I'm not aware of anything like "shared ownership" for primary residences here. Obviously you have "time shares" and such for vacation properties but that's something different I assume.

Hi Han, Madly saving to buy will do wonders for your weight-loss, if you continue to bank your wine money. Drinking wine is such a habit & I admire you for taking a break. That weight drop will come sweetie. Q is right- "Congrats on the jeans feeling looser. That's fat loss/muscle gain if the weight goes up while the pants get looser. That's the best because lean body mass burns more calories so it's future weight-loss." Don't you love the idea of that fat turning into muscle? Han is going to be a lean, mean, swimming machine! :D xoxo Cate
PS Avoid deep-fried Mars Bars at all costs! :ack2:

Do you do anything to the sparkling water or just drink it plain? Im looking for low cal substitutions to my high cal habits. Lol!
We don't have shared ownership here in Canada other than for vacation properties. The cities sometimes have some down payment forgivable loan programs available for people that qualify, but that's about it. Saving for a house is good motivation for eating/drinking cheaper and healthier. Nice way to stay motivated!
