I am going to ask you how you prepare your Kenoa. once bought some that was made to eat like oatmeal and it tasted terrible, but I do like it in Tabouleh (spelling???) I know it`s really good especially when trying to lose weight so I want to try it again!!
 
good luck with your weigh in! you have so much planning you put into your eating, you're doing great with it! enjoy your sun... sounds great to be out swimming in the sun people here don't get swimming pools... rain all the time lol. Now is rain, rain, rain... so i'll try not to envy :) Wearing a swimsuit..... ahhh that's gotta be a bit motivating

Vero- I rinse the quinoa, then boil it 1 part quinoa to 3 parts water, after it boils I reduce it to simmer and let it cook 15 mins then drain any water left over. I use quinoa in so many things, I LOVE it! I just use it instead of rice, in omelettes, in casseroles, instead of oats etc. Great stuff.

Weight stayed the same this week which I was expecting, so it means the next month will be a little tougher as I need to lose 700g a week to get to my Christmas mini-goal. It's totally doable, I'll just need to pick up my game a little!
 
OK so 700g a week for this month- BRING IT! I have a new 5 day a week training program, planning to swim 3-4 days a week, and getting a proper deficit (apparently it needs to be 5404 every week, eek! But I'm determined!) The fortnight I have planned fits into that really well, after the 2 weeks if I'm ahead I can drop it back a bit. Don't see me needing to though, I'll be averaging around 1500-1700cals a day so should be easy! Also have a new recipe planned for every day of the fortnight so really have a meal to look forward to every single day, as well as the 2 alcoholic drinks cheat every week. Having that tomorrow, there's the Twilight markets here for the first time this year (apparently at the end of every month during summer) which goes 4-7pm, then off to the pub with a heap of ex-colleagues from work and my husband (possibly Wade, he's undecided).


I'm wanting to post CRAZY comparison pics next month! I can appreciate where I am right now though and how far I've come, each kg is a struggle to get off but each one I lose makes me more determined to lose the next one. Also every day I get stronger, my form improves with harder exercises and even on weeks I don't lose weight I can still see myself getting leaner.


Didn't post measurements from above- lost 2cms off my bust (first time it's gone down in the whole 8kgs I've lost. Stupid boobs!) lost 2cms off my waist, 1cm off the fullest part of my stomach, 2cms from around my hips, thighs stayed the same and lost 1 cm from the fullest part of my tricep/bicep.


Food Plan for Tomorrow- Day 30 of 112 (more than 1/4 through now!)


B- French toast experiment with oats

S- 2 hard boiled eggs

L- Quinoa and chicken vege bake

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1/3 avocado

D- Super quick salad before we go out- tin of tuna and beans with spinach and tomatoes, then 2 bottles of cider at the pub *Cheat*


Exercise: Day 1 of my program- it's legs day!


Calories include 1 cup of almond milk for the 2 cups of coffee I have, also I have 2 cups of tea during the day.


Total calories: 1609 Total deficit: 765

Total deficit for the week: 1619

1 perfect day down, 13 to go! A few weeks ago I raved about mung bean fettucine- well today I had black bean spaghetti with my dinner. And it blew the fettucine out of the water! OMG!!! Was so so so good. Macros were pretty much the same as the fettucine- 186cals per (HUGE) serve, 16g carb, 20.5g protein. Here's the packet if you're interested:





And here's my dinner- 140g spicy seasoned chicken breast, green beans, 1 serve black bean spaghetti with organic sugar/preservative free pasta sauce with extra garlic and mushrooms.

Black bean pasta - sign me up. Does it have that black bean taste? I like that. I'll have to see what I can find around here. Thanks for the heads up! -- Just found it on Amazon, ain't cheap, but might be worth having around for an occasional treat.
 
I've been meaning to eat more black beans as they are one of the few foods that are really good for me where I actually really like the taste. Back in the day I really used to like a black bean burrito for lunch at the old job. A lot of food and not a lot of calories.
 
Little John and MrVee- The pasta actually just tastes like ordinary spaghetti! Lol looks a bit like worms after you cook it up but I don't get put off by odd food (unless it's mystery meat or something. Ew.)


Ahh so the cat decided she was feeling cute and had to love everyone at 5:30am this morning, so I'm awake. So earrrrrrrrly! She's asleep on me too so I'm stuck in bed, thought I'd grab the computer and post early.


Husband has the weekend off with me, YAY! Actually can't believe he managed to get back to sleep, not fair. No idea what we are getting up to today, I'd say watching a fair bit of TV and then tonight we are going out for a bit.

B- 1 piece of sourdough wholemeal spelt toast with 2 eggs and 1/3 avocado

S- Berry thickshake

L- Leftover black bean spaghetti with tuna

S- Carrot and celery sticks with 40g uncheese

D- Homemade pizza base with anchovies, spinach, pumpkin, uncheese


Exercise- Day 2 of my training program and a 30min swim


Calories also include 1 cup of almond milk for my 2 cups of coffee, also I have 2 cups of tea during the day.


Total Calories- 1608 Total Deficit- 915

FOOD POST! Why not? I ate a lot of colourful stuff today lol. Have had dinner pretty early as we are going out soon, everyone else is getting stuff from the markets which I wouldn't be able to do then we are going to the pub. Planning to have 2 ciders (my cheat this week!) Here's what I've eaten today!

Dinner was tuna and beans cooked with tomato, spinach, garlic and chilli




Aaaaaand then later I'll be having two 5 seeds ciders. NOM!

I'm 2 perfect days down 12 to go! Have so got this. Markets last night were pretty disappointing, we ended up staying there 5 minutes (and avoiding the store manager as he was there with his kids) so pretty much went to the pub straight away lol. Here's a few pics from the pub!

Ended up having my 2 ciders and then drinking around 2L of water while everyone got on to their 9th and 10th drinks (Wade can only have 1 drink a month cuz of his chemo so he had one and switched to coke). Got home around 11pm and had a full on sleep till just after 7am, yay! Glad to wake up while the sun was out for once lol.


I realised that I didn't post it in todays intake above, but the exercise program I'm doing is a 5 day split so today I'm workout out AND swimming, which happens twice a week. Also physio exercises on top, I reckon I'll be spending most of the morning exercising. Crazy!

B- 2 eggs, 1 piece organic spelt sourdough, 1/3 avocado

S- Green chocolate smoothie

L- Leftover black bean spaghetti with tuna

S- 2 buckwheat crackers with 1 tsp ABC nut butter

D- Homemade pizza base topped with anchovies, tomato, spinach, uncheese


Exercise- Strength day 3


Calories include 1 cup homemade almond milk for my 2 coffees, I also have 2 cups of tea. Ooh, here's a couple of teas I have in rotation with my green tea the moment!




I love splurging on new herbal teas! Great treat.

Total deficit for the week: 3285 (yay so slightly above the 800cal average I was aiming for! Going well)
 
I'm beginning to warm to this concept of a "perfect day" in that I think it might help refocus when things start looking a little shaky. If you can just do exactly what you're supposed to do over enough days, things should turn out well enough or at least give you the info needed to make changes if necessary.
 
MrVee- Usually it gives me more focus, I have no idea why lol. I'm really determined to do well this month so need the extra push!

Rainy- I always focus on the defict rather than the total calories- days are busier than others so some you need to eat more/less to get the same deficit.I think it works better over a longer period of time too, usually if I go a week with a 1000cal deficit every day I stop losing weight. I know how my body responds better now!
 
Just finished my breakfast- woke up super early again. NOOOO! Also was told today we are going out for dinner tonight- I have no idea where Ash is pulling the money from since we are supposed to be being careful! And we had dinner out last week, out Sat night and again tonight in the same pay cycle! He really should just learn to say no, I can understand going out for a birthday etc but going out for dinner just because is something we can't afford to do right now. Also it's going to be late again- 7pm- so I'll be starving by then! I'll just be having fish and salad (going to our usual restaurant) so calories might be slightly lighter than planned as I had a bigger meal sorted for dinner tonight (another pizza). All good! The base I made is frozen so will use it another time.


Weird- yesterday was back and bis day and today it's my TRICEPS that hurt?? Lol. Wonder if I swam a lot harder than I was meaning to or something. Haven't checked to see what todays is.

B- Choc overnight oat pudding
S- 2 hard boiled eggs

L- 2 pieces of organic sourdough wholemeal spelt bread with chicken, uncheese, tomato and lettuce

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1/3 avocado

D- Beef and veg slow cooker meal with 1/2 cup brown rice


Exercise- 30mins swimming, 30mins strength training


Calories also include 1 cup of almond milk to go with my 2 cups of coffee, I also drink 2 cups of tea during the day


Total calories: 1701 Total deficit: 822

Total deficit for the week: 4211 (shaping up to be an awesome week!)
