Put DOWN the Nutella!

Well, podiatrist was a pretty big waste of time! Glad I didn't have to pay for it. He just agreed with what the physio said and said I had the correct orthotics and sent me on my way... said to go back in 6 weeks. The end. My 2 second appointment.


Ate pretty well, not completely to plan but calories were good! We felt like a bit of a feast this arvo so I cut a heap of potatoes into chips and seasoned them in a bit of olive oil and salt, and baked them in the oven. And we ate them with gravy. YUM! (I weighed my portion and stuck chili on mine so I still know how much of everything I had). Was also more active then I thought I'd be as I baked meatballs today and cleaned up after myself (took FOREVER, made so many!) And then went out to the hospital too for my appointment, also was just walking around the house a heap (unintentionally). Shoes came today too, going to take them to the physio on Fri and see what she says. I totally love one of the pairs, SOOOOO comfy and such awesome colours for runners!!

You're so welcome!! With the spices/garlic stuff like that, just go off how you like it to taste... my mum didn't send me measurements so I just winged it and it came out awesome! Oh and walnuts are SOOO good in lasagna!!


Ugh, TOM today. It's not slowing me down though, did a workout this morning and have been eating healthy still. Calorie deficit will be a bit larger than planned, right on 1000cals! Going to be a little lower tomorrow though:

OH if anyone is interested, this is the yummiest breakfast!!!! If you normally make oatmeal it's awesome, you can make like 6 days worth or however much you want, then divide it up and freeze it... breakfast for the week done!!!!


Baked oatmeal- this is one serve, multiply it by however many serves you want! Or if you want it to have less calories, maybe multiply the recipe by 4 but then divide it into 6 serves... To get accurate calorie counts, just multiply it by four and divide by 6.


50g oats (1/2 cup, quick cooking or normal, both work)

1 banana, mashed

1 tbsp coconut oil or pb or healthy fat of choice

2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4-1/2 cup water (you want enough liquid for the oats to soak up, but not too much or you'll end up with a sloppy mess that won't cook!)

Optional extras- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence, sprinkle of cinnamon, pinch of salt, protein powder (could even sub some of the cocoa powder for choc protein) and whatever else you want to add!


Combine all ingredients and put into either a lined loaf tin or a square cake tin (depending on how many serves you are making, if you put it into a loaf tin you end up with a big flat pancake looking thing. Still good though! And I've fit 6 serves in a square cake tin, have to cook it a lot longer though as it makes huge fat slabs of cake!)


Bake in a moderate oven, around 180 degrees celcius for 15-30mins (15 mins is about right for one serve, pretty sure it was 30mins if not a little longer for 6... just keep checking it) When ready it should be fairly firm and it shouldn't sink when you poke it.


Nutrition info for 1 serve: 428cals, 18g fat, 60g carb, 8g fiber, 8g protein.
 
Day ended pretty badly food-wise, went about 900cals over maintenance. Damn TOM!!!!!!!!!!! It's all good, still having a good run this week... planning 1000 deficit Fri-Sun and should still have a good weigh in Mon!
 
Well it was too hot to use the oven but I will keep the recepie until weather cools down. I will have to try out those breakfast bar as well!


I know what you mean about TOM I am right there myself, so hard to controle the cravings!
 
Yea it's pretty frustrating how motivation can just go out of the window when it rears it's ugly head!!! Being really good today though, so still hoping for an awesome weigh in this week.


Just come back from the physio and had both my IT bands released... I cried this time, holy shit... worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life!! I've ordered a foam roller which will hopefully come next week so I can do it myself... every day. Fun fun. Looking forward to that! (NOT!) I left my crutches in my husbands car thinking he would be picking me up, but he got stuck at work and Wade came and got me instead... so I'm crutch-less till tonight! Wouldn't be such a big deal, but after having my knee re-taped I really need them while it settles down... Haha so I wouldn't have to get up I ate the rest of todays food when I got home then jumped straight into bed!!! Afternoon of internet and reading I think!!!! Don't have to go to the physio for 3 weeks now, she thinks with the foam roller and properly fitted orthotics and my exercises I should be able to manage this myself... Only have to go back before then if I need my IT bands released again.


So YEA. Just chillin out today, and on the weekend... then I have a week of work, and then going home for a week. Can't wait!!!! Even though I have absolutely NO money from all these freakin appointments and everything else... and not being able to work. And about a million bills I'm behind on too... arrrrgh.

Probably not going back to work till Thurs, still unable to walk very well and I think my knee brace will have arrived by then... my foam roller too... so should hopefully make life easy again (as long as it's not something more serious)... weigh in tomorrow, eee!!!!! Ended up having a massive FEAST after I posted yesterday... Oops! Paying for it BIG time today, feel pretty awful. Gunna have a light day to make up for it.


Arrgh got all sorts of random pains in my shins and ankles- guessing it's from the orthotics?? Making walking even worse!!!! I'm so over this... and not being able to work. Got bills stacking up all over the place and starting to feel pretty hopeless. I honestly don't know what to do!!!! And from what I've seen people don't get better from this, 'flare ups' keep happening it's just something you have to manage. Which makes me feel SO MUCH WORSE, if this is going to happen every few months.. Arrgh!!!


I actually do have some good news... Wade has decided we are going on a holiday. I said no because I couldn't afford it, and he insisted and said he's paying for it! :eek2: I said ABSOLUTELY no then, and then he sat down and said he only has 3-4 years left... And he wants a holiday... Then he said I'm getting everything in his will anyway so I wasn't allowed to say no. So talked it over with Ash... and in the meantime he's booked everything!!! So am going to the gold coast in Queensland from Sep 11- Oct 3! I SO HOPE I'M WALKING BY THEN!!!!!! He's organised HEAPS already, he's got us a 21 day pass for all the theme parks, a day long river cruise, dinner at this place: http://www.draculas.com.au/ which as far as I can tell is a themed restaurant with cabaret? And he's booked us accommodation at a resort that has breakfast included every day, right on the beach, has 2 swimming pools, hot tub, restaurant, bars... EEEEEEEE!!!!!! lol even if I'm crippled I'm still ok to sit by the pool!! So super excited now!!!
 
Ok... so borrowing money off my parents (argh, HATE that) to pay off a big bill I can't put off anymore. Also decided absolutely working Thu-Sun no matter what, even if I'm stuck on checkouts on a stool.

Grrr no checkout shifts this week as it's school holidays, so they have heaps of extra people at the moment. However I'm walking around a bit easier today, so I'm going to try a 3 hour shift tomorrow (only a short one as I still don't have my knee brace yet... postage to the middle of nowhere is CRAZY slow! So much for express!!!) Being really good still, go home on Monday so hoping to be mid 68s by then! Also ordered a Gymstick to help with rehab building some muscle strength back on my legs... hoping that will be here by Fri so I can take it home with me too. And my foam roller. Haha my bag is going to be chockers full of rehab gear! Debating whether I should take crutches or not... bit difficult to fit in my bag!

Heya Vero! It's incredibly frustrating thinking how much I used to be able to do, and now suddenly struggling to do something basic. It's crazy, like my body has betrayed me in a weird way. I feel like I'm learning how to walk all over again!!!

I managed a 3 hour shift at work today, going to do it the next 3 days too then going home for a week!! Might be able to work longer tomorrow, the store manager might have some time consuming seated work for me to do so that'll be good. Was so good to get out of the house even if it was just for a few minutes!! I have baby biceps and strong shoulders happening too- can kinda see the shape in my arms even when they're just by my side. Can't wait till I can start doing some proper leg work again!!


Food completely changed today- my legs were feeling really weak by the time I'd finished work (that's what happens after being sedentary 2 weeks!) and I was STARVING when I got home... so ate an apple with a heap of peanut butter (om nom nom) and thinking of cooking up the rest of the potatoes left over from yesterdays chips for this arvo... still have a protein shake to have too. Deficit is almost exactly the same as planned though so won't bother reposting that. EDIT- Had 2 extra pieces of cheese as a snack so deficit today was 923cals.


Anyhoo... Actually feeling fairly positive today! It's good to talk to people and walk around a bit, even if it is at work!!!

Arrgh ok so ended up eating a heap of cheese and crackers last night after posting, damn husband brought them into the bedroom and sat on the bed eating them when I was done with food for the day... didn't help that I'd already been craving cheese (ate a couple slices earlier to get rid of it) but with it right in my face I couldn't say no!!!! Only ate up to maintenance... so should still be able to get a 4000cal deficit for the week. Feel pretty yuck today because of it though!!
 
Didn't have the BEST day today, but still wasn't bad at all... had a 777cal deficit, so it's fairly obvious I'm not going to get where I want this week... but hey, I'm still trucking on and getting A deficit in!!! 2 more days left in the week, I plan for them to be perfect... then I'm on holidays!!!

Have manged to work 3 days in a row... working tomorrow, then I'm off home for the week!! YAY!!!! Knees have been swelling pretty badly though, been coming straight home to use the foam roller and chuck some ice on them. Actually not having as much knee pain now though, just incredibly awful foot pain!!! Think it might just be me getting used to the orthotics??? It's pretty bad, shooting pain in my heels and arches, over the tops of my ankles and up my shins. Still walking around really slowly too. Aiii. Podiatrist said to expect pain for the first 2 weeks though, so we shall see... My knee brace still hasn't arrived either, grrrr.


Been really good again today, did a workout as soon as I got home from work... just got to get through tomorrow!
