Psnyder's Diary :)

As a whole I'm looking at needing to lose about 120 lbs. I would like to see 250 by April. I want to set small goals as I go. I think that will help me from getting discouraged as easily.

Ok so today was not to bad. I will be totaling out my day at 1680 est cal. They say that I should be between 1500 and 1800 in a day. My dinner was not as good as I had hoped. It will get better with time..Lunch was Chicken salad and crackers and pears. Dinner: pork chop, orangano noodles, green beans. My snacks will total out at 350. Plus side is that I had already made the change of mostly water in the day so thats helped a ton today. I normally have a coffee in the morning and water all day and then a coffee or tea in the evening. I can't not imagine how bad my totals would have been if I was still a soda junkie..I was awful when I had to have soda all the time.

Your dinner sounds fine (depending on the portion size of course), no need to starve yourself. Great starting day!

Today was total havoc at work today and I thought it almost got me. I really wanted to just grab a bag of chips. I did ignore the want. That is really not easy for me when the day is completely crazy. I seem to have forgotten that we had dinner plans with friends tonight thought that I could get away with ordering a salad. That didn't work so well she cooked for us. She made a burrito casserole that I did only eat a cup of and we estimated that it must have been about 620 cals. So even though I am still under the max 1800 cals allowed it's not where I wanted to be. I guess letting it go and charging on..

breakfast : 1/2 cup cinn and pecan oatmeal and coffee
lunch: 4oz steak on a bed of peppers onions tomatoes and corn
Snack: whole grain cereal bar
dinner: 1 cup burrito casserole
Snack : glass of milk

You can put that down as a big win! Well done!!

Sounds like you are going well. Suggestion- if the potato chips are in a vending machine, don't bring exact change so it's harder to use the vending machine.

I can relate to the hanging with a friend messing things up some. Sometimes you just have to recognize that you won't be in control of your food 100% of the time and be ok with it.

Where I work there is only 5 of us so we all just buy things and bring it in and everyone just helps them selves so there is always at least one evil snack lurking.. We have healthy ones too but always a few bad ones too. I do love that idea if I was facing a vending machine.

Today was really busy but it was a great day !! I am with in target with cals today. I never felt the need to snack today. YAY!! one scary daily monster down. Hopefully it will stay away tomorrow too. total :1545

Breakfast: coffee,2 eggs, 1 slice of rye

Lunch: ranch ham and harvarti on rye and peaches

Dinner: turkey sausage with peppers and potatoes

Snacks: pecans and yogurt

Temptation knocking on the door. We received another gift basket at work. Everything in it was a bad idea. I think everytime I try to watch what I eat the world receives a message that says "Hey she's watching what she eats,Go get her, offer her everything and anything she shouldn't have ". I am hoping the ladies will have it eaten soon so I can truly say bye bye temptation. Today was ok. felt a little guilty about dinner. I still came in under total cal intake for the day but dinner was higher than I planned and was not good food as far as choices. Hubby made Chinese. Some times I think he is the first to get that memo of temptation.LOL I guess I will have to glue a "wifey watching what shes eating" memo to his head. I guess I will just have to file today in the learning how to eat when it's not ideal file. Total cal intake 1745

breakfast:shredded wheat and coffee

lunch: avocado chicken salad, crackers and pears

dinner: Chinese

Snacks: walnuts and popcorn

1745 kcal on a "less than ideal" day is pretty incredible, I take of my (invisible positivity) hat to you!

It is hard to get through to the OH that you are genuinely wanting to change how you eat. My G is a nurturer. He comes with the best intentions & is a great cook. He now understands. It takes time & determination, tempered with lots of love. They get it in the end. G has heard me attempt to lose weight, attempt to make positive changes.....has heard it all before, but now knows I mean business. Persevere. Your OH will get it too.
Thank you for repping me Psynder- that's always nice. A little kindness never goes astray, xoxo Cate

Thanks..I hope you are right..He is getting a little better..baby steps right? As far as reps you deserve it you always have great advice and things to say.

Today has been great on the food side. The rest of the day umm ok I guess. I was freezing all day. Met cal intake and made plans to get my evil exercise machine brought back so I can get started in that department soon. Got to have a much needed lunch date with the hubby. YAY! I am hoping that I will feel even better once I get started with the evil machine..hahaha.. finished out at 1570 Does anyone that counts cals ever feel like you are measuring them wrong? I measure mine by serving and 1/2 servings. I use measuring cups/spoons and go by the deck of card for meat. I look up everything or use products serving to see what a serving is and then measure it out. I am just not sure I got this right.

Breakfast: ww cereal and banana
Lunch: turkey veggie sub
Dinner: pork chop roasted broccoli and cauliflower and parm noodles
Snacks: hummus and carrots and pretzel chips, yogurt

Measuring cups and spoons tend to be more imprecise than weighing but I personally think that a little imprecision helps to not stress too much. Like the sound of your food!

Thanks for the lovely compliment PS.
Re:hubby....baby steps are a start :)
Measuring cals is really hard, without being able to actually weigh your food. I used My Fitness Pal for a long time - it does have SO many choices & does take a lot of time. The more you use it, the easier it gets. You can scan barcodes before you buy stuff, which is great. Steering clear of processed food is a win/win situation though. You'll get better at making good choices as you go. Well done on another good food day :)

WHOOHOO!!! Weigh in day says that I got this, this week. Down 8lbs but I have a big water retention so I would say its more like 4lbs with what I sometimes vary from day to day. Sometimes I can lose/gain 4 in 12 hours. So I am on my way for sure this time. Had a fairly good day well until I got home to find that some how the bathroom sink had overflowed and flooded the whole room and imagine that no one knows how this happened. Got to love them but unless we have a water fairy I know nothing about I just don't see how this happened..lol. Just under the total allowed today. 1757

Breakfast: 2eggs and 1 slice rye
Lunch: Philly steak sandwich
Dinner: 4oz Cheesy chicken breast ,garden ratatouille and 1 sm. roasted potato
Snacks: milk and popcorn
