PROJECT: Body fix 2006

Well good.. I think thats a grea tidea..you'll get to meet other moms, the kids will have more social interaction. :) And who knows... maybe you guys could have your own activites going. abook club, a knitting club, scrapbooking..any of those things.. or just sitting and chatting. You coul dhbave snacks one time, and they could take turns bringing snacks ..etc. :) I duno sounds like fun to me!!! :D I hope you get somethin worked out.

I made it 1 whole day without sugar. Yay me! I'm feeling like I'm going to cave. But part of me isn't liking this whole deprevation of sugar. Do I stay strong or justlimit myself to occassional treats?

Moderation Sara! If you tell yourself that you're never going to eat sugar again, you won't be able to stop thinking about it and you'll fail. It's impossible to diet that way. Set it up so that you eat well six days out of seven and then allow yourself that one day a week to enjoy some things you wanted during the week. Not only will it help you keep your sanity, but it will help keep you from reaching a plateau because just when your body thinks you've changed to eating healthy food, you throw some junk in there.

Another idea... if six days seems like too long to begin with, break it down a little. Eat healthy for two days and then give yourself a cheat day. When you feel like you can handle that, move it up to three and one. When that's no big deal, move it up to four and one... before you know it, you'll be going six days to one and it won't seem bad at all!

The other thing you have to realize is it's not going to be easy. If it were, there would be a lot less overweight people in the world. BUT YOU CAN DO IT! Use the people here because they're here to support you. I can't even count how many times NewLeaf has "talked me down off the ledge"! Use us because the time may come when we need the favor returned.
Good Luck! :)

I'm constantly eating, constantly. I feel like I'm addicted to food. I'm almost never hungry, probably cause I'm eating so much, yet I just can stop eating. I'll eat til I feel really sick.
This sounds exactly like me! I don't necessarily eat out of hunger, just out of want.
There is a book you might want to read. I'm reading it right now. It's called "It Was Food vs. Me... And I Won". It's written by Nancy Goodman who was never considered overweight or underweight but struggled with eating and weight issues everyday. You can get it for pretty cheap on Ebay.
One more thing I want to say to you. If you are like me, it's kind of an all or nothing battle. If you don't eat "perfect" you figure you blew it so you binge. If you do eat "perfect" you feel deprived shortly after (maybe as soon as the next day) and you blow it again by binging. Remember this: You need to FOCUS ON PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION. You don't have to follow your diet perfectly everyday to see results. Because of your relationship with food, you need to do this in moderation. Maybe allow yourself a treat everyday if that will keep you from blowing your diet completely. A small treat everyday will not keep you from losing weight, I promise.
You can do this girl! But I would really suggest the book. I think you could really benefit from it. :)

Wow, that is so me! I'll look into the book.

Good! NewLeaf just bought it too. Let me know when you get it and maybe we can start a thread where we can all talk about it together. :D

good morning...I really hope you have a great day today. Let us know how the book turns out...if its a good'n I may decide to get it too!

Hey Sara, just checking in to see how you're doing... haven't heard from you in a couple days. Hope all is well. :)

EDIT: Just found your post in the Clubs section saying you weren't going to be on here for awhile. I understand about the kids and all (got three of them myself), just hate to see you give up when you only have 20 pounds til you reach your goal! If you need it, take a little break, try to maintain your weight and then get back here! ;)
Also, I would really like to know what you think about that book and maybe, you, me and Newleaf could read it together, so I'm going to try emailing you.
Best of luck. Hope to see you back soon. :)

Wow, thanks Paula....looks lke you really didn't forget me:) I've gained quite a bit more unfortunatly. I'm up to 153lbs. I need to lose 28lbs. I want to try again, but I'm nervous. I'm so sick of failing. I'm so sick of being fat. 152 was the highest reccommended weight for my height, so I'm officially over weight now. I've tbecome addicted to ice cream. I haven't read that book yet. I got it though. I'm already reading 2 book and I just ordered 3 more!!!I'm willing to do a group thing with it though. How have you been PAula and anyone who reads this?

Hey girl! Glad to see you're back! I haven't read the book yet... keep meaning to start. What chapter are you on? Get that info to me that I emailed ya and we'll get you started. It's possible for you to lose the weight and I'm here to support you 100%! Post your feelings and anything else here... there really are some great people here that can help you do this! Glad you're back! :D

hey Sara,
Just cetching up on your diary. First, I want to tell you that I am the QUEEN of frustration. I'm an instant gratification girl and this whole weight loss thing could make you pull your hair out. DON'T GIVE UP!!!! We are all here to support you. I 'm going to continue to check on you and I really hope that you decide to stay with us. We all need each other and as you see successes (which do come), you'll be motivated and ready to move on to the next mini-goal.

How can I help?? I'd love to. Fill me in, if you don't mind, on your plan of attack...calories/exercise...and I'll personally motivate you if you want. This is a hard task, we all know that, and giving up will only make us feel worse (i think, from past experience), so stick with us, vent when you need to, ask for advice, but dont quit. You can get to your goal and you can be healthy and ready to conquer anything. This is the hard part...getting rolling and getting motivated and feeling ready to succeed....

Do you feel ready?????
