I would like to lose about 7 kilos, to start, and I hope it doesn't take me longer than 10 weeks to do it. I plan to do what I have been doing all along...healthy eats and regular exercise. I was intially getting a lot of support and encouragement on a different forum...but the interest has waned from the other participants and I search for more positive online buddies--hopefully from this forum? :waving: I think my goal is rather realistic. I try to lose about 10% of my weight...and once I reach that goal I set another 10%-goal. I started this last year around June or July. I've lost about 25 kilos since then! :hurray: Today my weight is 69.6 kilos (I'm 170 cm tall). My regular weigh-in days are Mondays and Thursdays. My ideal weight is probably about 55 kilos. Four months from now I would like to be close to that weight. I had been heavy my entire life and I got sick of it.

Well, I was trying to answer the questions provided, but found most of them irrelevant.

Okay, I got bored. :blush5: Anyway, I'll be updating every Monday and Thursday. I hope to "meet" some online buddies here on this forum.

Good luck with all your goals! ;)

Hello from a fellow Aussie!

Wow, you've done really well so far, i'm sure you'll get the support you need on this forum. Everyone is so positive and helpful!

I like your idea of setting the 10% goals - I may try that myself. That way you get a sense of achievement every time you hit one of those goals!

I did laugh though - my ideal weight is also 55kg, but i'm only 158cm tall!

Good luck :)

Wow, major grats on the 25K you've lost thus far. It sounds to me like you have this weight-loss thing well in hand. Setting reasonable goals, healthy diet, exercise... it's only a matter of time now. You've got this! :D

G'day. h&h! Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm still trying to work my way around this forum...any pointers would be a great help!

Where in Oz are you?

Thanks Schaw! Believe me, I have my bad days but I try to keep it positive as much as possible. The key was truly to get the trigger foods completely out of my life and always keep active! No matter how bad things may get in life...there's always time for a brisk walk. ;)

Wow, thanks to all who stopped by! Please forgive me...I'm still new to this forum and I'm a little lost with this challenge being that it's a bit different and more involved than the others I'd participated in. I think it's GREAT that everyone checks-in on everyone else's diaries to see how they're doing and offer encouragement! So off I go now to visit YOU...! ;)

I've been dealing with computer issues....:cuss:

Yesterday was a great day. I traveled with my best mate to Ballarat to do a little poking around. We went to the art gallery and did a little shopping. We also drove over to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. Filled up some water jugs with natural mineral water from the spring there. Had a couple beers and chilled out at a pub in Daylesford and left just when the fires started up. :ack2: We were never in any danger but we hightailed it outta there quicksmart anyway!

I saved the entire day waiting on a scrummy meal at Zaragosa in Ballarat for tea. We had a Negra Modelo each with corn chips and salsa for starts. My main was pimentos rellenos with a side of habenero sauce, chopped jalapenos, and sour cream (cos the habenero sauce was ACTUALLY hot!)...add a couple Dos Equis, and we were flying. It was a really nice meal considering that Australians wouldn't know a good Mexican/Spanish meal if one bit 'em in the arse.

I had an early morning walk for an hour, and muesli with yoghurt for brekky. We got home late from Ballarat so I didn't get any other exercise in.

Today: Early morning walk for an hour. Muesli w/ yoghurt. Cabbage and carrot saute with WW pasta for lunch. Lots and lots of black coffee during the day. I plan for a lentil and rice dish for tea. Lots and lots of drinking water. Will save my homebrew for tomorrow. :) Gonna do 30 minutes now of strength training and stretching cos my lower back is giving me some grief. Will have another walk this evening for an hour well after tea.

Thanks to all who have stopped by! ;)

Edit: I ended up not doing any strength training as the back pain was a bit much...but I did do an extra 40 or so minutes of walkies before my usual evening walk of one hour. Lentil and rice for tea ended up being lentil and roasted potato and carrot with zucchini. :) Yummers.

i am glad you could keep away from those fires.

Phew! Yeah, me too!

Well...was a bit crook yesterday. Did my early morning walk. Lower back is still giving me some grief. Had a friend sort of give me a rub but it's still a bit stiff. Didn't eat yesterday. :( Wasn't hungry. But had a few stubbies. Missed my evening walk. Lots of fun last night, though. :)

Still feeling a bit crook this morning. Weighed-in at 72.7 kg. :svengo: WTF?! Must've been those stubbies last night. Anyway, had my walk. Muesli with milk for brekkie and black coffee. Brekkie has been a bit boring this week, but I don't have anything else, really, until next week's shop in town. Lunch will be a Mexican bean and rice dish...leftovers from dh and dd's tea from last night. Don't know what I'll have for tea tonight but it'll have to be small and light since I have circuit training class this evening. Whoohoo!

I'm pretty miffed about the gain. But I'll work it off hard this evening in class.

That is what is great abt having a diary and what i wanted to create as a first challenge. It is important to have ppl support you and to get to know ppl.It is easier and nicer to support them once you get to know them a lil...
