Hihi welcome to this new forum..

Wow... you have already lost 25 kilo's!!!!!!
7 kilo's should be an easy job for ya! =P

Good luck on your 2nd week challenge!! =]

Grr....I've been having so much trouble with my computer. I'm probably not going to be able to post as much as I'd like...might have to drop out of the challenge. Well...not drop out, but I won't be able to post too much.

I weighed in this morning at 69.9 kg. Ate well today--5 mini meals. Lots of water. 2-hour power walks. A bit of strength training.

BTW: crook=not feeling too well, miffed=upset, stubbies=beer

Thanks to all who stopped by! ;)

Bailed out of the 6-wker/moved over to the March challenge

Tuesday, I set up a meal plan--as I normally DON'T--and totally blew it. I should know by now never to bother! I pigged out on pb and rice crackers by mid-afternoon. Look, it wasn't THAT big a deal, but my stomach was full and bloated and I just felt awful. I can't stick to plans. I never could.

Wednesday I didn't eat. Quite a few stubbies though. Had my morning and evening walks. Had to go into town yesterday for xrays...my feet are pretty bad and my podiatrist wanted to know how much longer I can go without surgery. Aak!

Weighed-in this morning still at 69.9 kilos. Skipped my morning walk but I have circuit training class tonight. My feet are giving me grief again...I can't let the grief get in the way of my goals.

Got a busy day ahead of me. Three clients and not a lot of time between them for rest. Should better pack up some small healthy snacks to bring along.

Bye for now!

Thursday/Friday

Circuit Training class was GREAT last night! Really kicked my arse.

Yesterday's food: Um...oh, yeah. 1) chopped hard-cooked eggs over rice cakes 2) muesli with yoghurt 3) monster salad with tahini dressing 4) avocado over sautéed veg with rice and mexi-beans. I'm sure there was something else. Hm...probably just some fruit. Oh yeah! I had some corn tortilla chips, too. I felt like I wanted to pig out, but I don't think I did. I'm not kidding, tho...the salad was a MONSTER salad.

I'm ALWAYS hungry! Sometimes I wish I could shut that part off in my brain. I always think about food. I love food. But the good thing? I'm a fussy eater. I won't just eat ANYTHING. But I don't even really like corn tortilla chips. I don't know why I ate those. Oh well... I only had a few anyway.

Today...is Friday. I had my early morning walk (gads, it was cold this morning!), and I ate some muesli with milk. I get soooo tired of muesli, but I don't have anything else at the moment. I think I'll chop up that watermelon now and have some for a mid-morning snack.

Got another appt. today...this time with my GP, concerning my xrays the other day. He'll say "surgery", I'm sure of it. :willy_nilly: Well, if I'm going to be off my feet for several weeks, I'd better get clued into some good feet-free strength training exercises! If anyone is reading this...I would appreciate ideas! I have free weights and bands...but nothing else, like I don't own a weight bench or exercise ball or anything like that. Thanks!

Well...time to get on with my day. :)

Hey pickled, congratulations on your weight loss so far! 25 kilos (I converted it to pounds) is really great.

...I know what you mean about always being hungry. Reading about your delicious sounding Mexican food really made me drool. I'm lucky(?) that I live in an area with great restaurants, even great Mexican food. Which sounds like a good idea for this weekend.

Have a great Friday, and good luck with your foot surgery issues. Have you tried pilates or yoga? There are a lot of poses that don't require standing that might work for you.

what sort of range of weights do you have and how strong are your bands, i can suggest some exercises depending on what you have, each exercise needs to be matched to the right weight. you don't wan't to work too heavy or too light.

Good point, Trusylver. I wouldn't want to risk overdoing it, hurting myself, and then not be able to exercise at all.

The free weights--cheap adjustable screw-on dumbbells I got from SportsPower for about $20--only go up to about 5 kilos, and the bands are a cheap Kit dh bought from SportsPower as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated! ;)

I had tried yoga on and off for years and I must say it simply does not motivate me. I recently gave Pilates a go, too, but it's not my thing either. :( Thanks for the suggestions anyway, phatcat. ;)

I had to go into town on Friday to pick up my xrays and do a shop. I made veggie risotto for lunch. So delish. I can't remember what I ate the rest of the day, though. I need to be a little more consistent with writing down my meals! I did see the GP and he is talking "surgery", but I want to see my podiatrist first before anything else. There's got to be other options before the last resort--going under the knife. Until then, I shall remain active and take a daily walks.

Saturday was a busy day. I woke earlier than usual for my morning walk cos we were going to Werribee to pick up some supplies, then see a bit of the Begonia Festival in Ballarat, then we went to Maryborough. A great day! Lots of driving, but a fair amount of walking too. Brekkie was a bit of veggie frittatta and black tea. At the Begonia Festival we bought veg samosas with a squirt of tamarind sauce. Had a proper Guinness at a nearby Irish pub, then found a cheap curry house near the railway station--0ne chai, one veg pakora with tamarind and a pompadom, and a yummy dal with basmati rice. So good. A couple stubbies when we got home. I went for my evening walk, then had a huge fruit salad for tea.

So tired the next morning. I couldn't get up for my morning walk. I had loads of black coffee, and managed to fit in a walk later in the day. I wasn't hungry at all so I didn't eat. I did have a stubbie, and a small drink of port. Wow. Hadn't had a port in ages!

This morning: Weighed in at 69.7 kg. :) I'm pretty pleased with that even though it wasn't my target for the week. A walk for an hour, and I had yoghurt with chopped fruit and seeds, and a black coffee. Today is Labour Day. Not a lot planned for today...but I may tuck into a small project or two.

I need to take special care of my feet. Sometimes I wish my dh would massage them for me. Haha. Gads, they're so unattractive though...I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to!

That's all for now. Happy days!

i will get back to you on a few things you could do with the equipment you have, i will write something up for ya while i am waiting to see what this cyclone is gonna do.

Monday-Wednesday

Monday was fun, but I ate not much and drank quite a bit. I think I skipped lunch and had a light supper with some smoked salmon, brie, dates, cashews, and rice crackers. Kept rather active during the day despite my alcohol consumption.

Tuesday? Walked in the morning. Several mini-meals during the day. Was going to walk in the evening but there seemed to be some sort of swarm of beetles about knocking into my head and face. :leaving: Headed back home and did about an hour of strength training in the front lounge room.

Today I wasn't hungry. :( I missed my morning walk (I overslept) but did about 30 minutes of strength training. Going to go for my evening walk in a bit.

Picked up a book from the library today that looks pretty good. Be Your Own Personal Trainer by Tanya Wyatt. Also picked up the Aussie Fit Beat Backache DVD, which I'd done before and liked.

I see my podiatrist next Monday. Today I did a little retail therapy--I bought some foot-yummies. :D Scrubs, lotions, salts, soaks, a couple of those pumice-thingys.... I'm in the mood to pamper the old dogs!

Looking forward to your suggestions, Trusylver! Hope the weather is behaving itself up by where you are!

Wed-Mon

Still having a lot of problems with my computer.

A quick post. Still at 68.3 kg. :) Walkies this morning in the rain. Ate too much today. Will do The Body Workout and have another walk this evening.

Feeling okay!

If Foster's is Australian for "beer", than pickled08 is Australian for "WEIGHT LOSS".

You're doing great Pickles. Can I call you Pickles? Yeah? Awesome. It seems like you're definitely on the right track. I hope you stay on it and ride the train to your goals. HAHA, that was so corny. MMM, corn...:drooling:

I'm sure you'll get to your goal before you know it. And, I'll be there to give you a super awesome high five when you get there. Keep it up Pickles!!!
