Photocrazed - Journey to a Healthy lifestyle

Saturday March 17, 2007

It snowed last night! I can't believe it! Well, I can because it's march, but it was so beautiful the 3 days prior to upper 60's upper 70's and then 80 degrees!

Breakfast
Kashi Go Lean 1 Cup
nonfat milk
1/2 banana
1/2 grapefruit
1 cup tropicana oj w/fiber
2 cups coffee w/sweet n low (no cream)

Lunch
3 bites of a thin crust pepperoni pizza slice
2 slices bread light white
2 servings tuna (chunk in water)
1 tbsp light mayo
2 dill pickles

Dinner
4-5 onion rings 1-2" diameter
.60 Turkey burger on wheat w/lettuce, tom, ketchup
2 glasses tea sweetened w/sweet n low

I am not sure how many calories I have had today, because I can't find info on Red Robin's Turkey Burger (plus I took the mayo stuff off and requested on wheat). I hope it wasn't too bad.

Based on Spark people without my sandwich included, I have had about 903 calories today. So, I'm going to assume that I am within my caloric range.. ..so totals without the sandwich are:::

I love pickles, partly because they are so low-cal. I've never thought of them having a bad side before! Holllly cramolly.

Hubby wanted to eat dinner out at Chili's after some shopping today. I was able to get them to make me a GG Chicken Pita, which was good, but I also ate 4 buffalo wings at hubby's urging and those killed me in Calories and fat. I'm over as a whole today on what I would like to be at, but I'm still under maintenance.

My sodium is THROUGH the roof though.

March 20, 2007

Stayed up late last night doing laundry and ironing. I must be like super duper slow because it takes me around 1.5 hrs to iron 7-8 shirts. ... Maybe I'm doing it wrong.. someone please learn me the art of ironing. (I used learn incorrectly on purpose). I'm not sure how many loads of laundry, but I have more to do.

As far as school is concerned, I have a presentation to do tomorrow, but haven't even prepared. I need to start and REAL soon! I also need to go see a professor today to get a form signed that is waiving a prerequisite for a course I want to take this summer, and go to a presentation at 4:30 titled the "Death of Chaucer" I think .. my professor is willing to give 5 extra credit points PER EXAM if I attend this and an additional 5 per EXAM if I watch a movie and write what I thought about it. SWEEEET. That surely would give me an A in the class if I continue to get A-'s on the exams. Cha-ching Cha-ching!

I love pickles and they are soo low calorie but boy i the sodium brutal... one of thse days i'm going to attempt making my own low sodium pickles :)

I'm the wrong person to ask about ironing -it's a trait i learned at my mother's knee -my folks ahve been married 45 years - and she's never ever ironed... dry cleaners were invented for a reason - 2 bucks to press a shirt is worth it to me :)

Amen, Sister Mal. I despise ironing. The only things I iron are my nursing uniforms because the dang hard cotton fabric wrinkles like crazy when you fold them and put them in a drawer. Anything else that's wrinkled I just throw in the dryer for a few mins on low heat and it usually does the trick.

I had thought about taking the shirts to the dry cleaners from now on. I may just have to do that, because I HATE the ironing. With things that will de-wrinkle easily, I will throw in the dryer like you, Sunny! It's so much easier that way.

Thanks! I hope I can get this presentation stuff down before I have to go. I also want to do my resistance training too!

Steve
I'm still up (as far as weight is concerned) from my trip. But, I did it to myself (Live and Learn). I'm going to weigh in on Friday whether it's up or down or the same. So, I hope I see something good this week.

I did my resistance training on Monday and Tuesday, but by Friday, my knee was bothering me a little too much to do anything, so I missed my resistance that day. I tried to relax over the weekend and didn't do any walking or running on the treadmill and no resistance training. I plan to get back on the plan today to see how I do and go from there. Also, I think I may have found a way to do deadlifts using the bowflex, but I'm going to have to stand on the bench part to do them, which means my feet will have to be together, unless I can find a platform to stand on that will allow my feet to be apart. What do you think about doing them with feet together? Also, if I do this, I have the ability to try more weight. ... p.s. which stretching techniques do you suggest before doing the deadlifts? Should I do some warm up walking at an incline on the treadmill?

I think what hurt me was the sprinting at 10mph last week even though I only did it 3 times and for about 15-25 secs. I'm going to have to take it slower until this knee feels better.

Morning!

Morning, Photocrazed, just snooping around here....tell me about sodium! I ate a bunch of sushi yesterday, and combined with my TOTM, I weighed in very high this morning. Gotta drink that water, yeah?! Have a great day and fun with school. :)

Some dry cleaners will just do the pressing for you- which I prefer - I don't like when they do the cleaning as well because my white shirts don't stay white for long - so I'll wash them myself then bring them in for pressing... a few dollars well spent to save sanity... :)

hello!

i love chili's guiltless grill chicken platter! :)

just wanted to pop in and say hello. hope you have a great week!!
