Photocrazed - Journey to a Healthy lifestyle

aww huni .. keep yourself entertained then you wont feel hungry :) couldnt you hope onto the treadmill and do some walking for a bit or somethng? alternatively .. go to bed?:p

Hubby is going out of town on Tuesday for a week. This is one of the hardest times for me when eating. I get depressed and eat anything and everything in sight. I need to find the willpower to eat healthy and still exercise while he is gone. Last January, I weighed around 146 and he spent about 8 out of 12 weeks out of town at the beginning of the year and that is when I started gaining. I guess it is good that the ski trip is the week after, maybe that will help keep me motivated.

Although, I haven't really lost any weight this month and am disappointed about this. I'm keeping it up. It's not just about what the scale says, it's about being heatlhy. ..

I've found that it's easiest for me to focus on me when my friend is on a work trip. I can arrange my days as I wish and only need to think of my own eating and exercise and general well-being. And there's always the challenge of how much better I can look and feel by the end of the week. You know, our closest people notice the change best when they've not seen us for a while.. ;)
Also, since you've noticed that you have the tendency to eat more when you're alone, you're already less likely to do that this time.
And keep your good life up, there are all kinds of reasons why the scales stay on one number, and when these reasons go away you notice the difference for all the days of healthy living.
Congratulations on your weight-loss so far!
Juliette

My husband works a lot of night shifts in the winter, and I find it hard to get to bed when he's not there.

When he is away for day/week, I usually am ok with my eating habits because he is such a red meat and potatoes guy. I get to make healthier choices and eat what I want to eat. When I'm following WW or dieting, I find it easier to get a pre-packaged meal. Usually Lean Cuisine frozen meal. It is large enough to last 2 nights, and if I do have a binge night than I know it's okay because it is healthy and low in points.

Good luck, and get some sleep!

I guess I'm lucky. My hubby eats whatever I put before him. If I am eating badly, he's eating badly! If I'm eating good, he's eating good. He isn't trying to lose weight so much as maintain and build muscular strength etc, so I try to give him larger portions and more calories throughout the day.

He's about 6' 175-180 lbs

Your hubby sounds exactly like my bf...if I would bring home Micky D's, he'd scarf that down....if I cook grilled chicken & broccoli, he'd just as happily scarf that down too. The good part about guys like that is they don't kick and scream and put up roadblocks when we're trying to eat healthy...the bad thing is they don't kick and scream and put up roadblocks when we decide to dive into Ben & Jerry's.

I haven't even hit 1000 calories today. I'm sure i'll make up for it tomorrow since I have to get up at 3am to take hubby to the airport to meet his flight at 6am.

It's been an emotional day for me since hubby is leaving, and then I thought I lost one of my diamond earrings hubby gave me for our 6th wedding anniversary. I became very upset at this, but found the earring lying on the bedside table when I arrived home. I must have taken the one earring out when I went to bed around 3am this morning and didn't remember doing it. UGH.

Tomorrow is going to be a very very long day.

Take the time away from your husband to do things just for you :) Maybe some things you don't get a chance to do while he is there. I know its hard and sounds lonely but keep busy! You could make it a mini vacation just about you. Read, do a little more exersise, take some bubble baths, how about a spa treatment! I'm trying to find a mini spa vacation for myself, I have a few friends who do it 3 or so times a year just for the weekends and they feel so much better when they get back! . Go out for a girls night and celebrate all that you have accomplished! That way when he gets back and you guys head skiing you will be fully relaxed and ready to go! ;) You already know him being away could add to your eating, thats a step in itself, acknowleding our faults. Since you are aware of it, it will be much easier to control and watch for !

We'll be here for you :) And I never sleep so send a message anytime!

I agree, take the time to indulge yourself. Watch chick flicks, take baths, etc. Do things you don't normally take the time for. And hopefully the week will pass quickly.

Pamper yourself while he's gone. I remember back when my husband and I were dating, he and a friend won a trip to Meixco. By the time he came back I was darker then him. I had gone to the tanning bed and had highlights done. I looked like I had been away too, and didn't spend the $$ he did! LOL!

Hey photocrazed, hope you are doing okay without hubby. I usually watch chick flicks (like honeybunch said) and drink some wine and read a lot. Treat yourself and give yourself some pampering like everyone else said. Kick some butt at the gym to take up your free time and see how much he notices when he gets back :)

Exercise 2 sets 150 jumps w/jump rope (1 min rest between sets), rode bike about 3 miles maybe more. Adjusting the settings to make it harder on the easy parts and just right on the hard parts. I don't think I'll make it to the treadmill tonight! ...heart rate 152bpm

Thanks everybody! Today has been exhausting. I had a difficult time going to sleep last night and then 3am came way too soon. We made it to the airport (which is an hour away) and I sat with hubby for about 30 minutes before making the trip home. I tried to go back to sleep when I got back home, but it was hard. Finally fell asleep around 7 and hubby called at 7:43 to say he was in Atlanta waiting for his next flight and we chatted for a little while.

I slept off and on mostly off for the next couple of hours and then got up and got ready for class and had lunch.

As of right now, I have already had more calories today than I had yesterday total and I have not had dinner. After this post, I plan to change clothing, go jump some rope to see how long I can handle it, and then take a nice bike ride around the neighborhood across the street, then maybe get on the treadmill. I hope I can make it, because not only am I exhausted, I'm hungry as well!

You should still eat if you are hungry!

Exercise helps me with stress, and is one of the only things that does. I hope your jump roping/jogging makes you feel better too!

I can not jump rope to save my life. Well, I can, but am as slow as a snail at it, if a snail could jump rope that is. Glad to read that you can! Haha, actually pretty cool. Doing any strenght training too?

Yes. I am trying to keep Strength training to MWF. We'll see how that pans out though this week.

I just royally screwed up my eating today. Oh well! Tomorrow is another day.. as long as I don't eat anything else.. I'm bored, alone, and and bored, and alone. ..not a good week for either.

A day is just a day and tomorrow can be whatever you want it to be. ALWAYS remember that. Keep your head up, your are doing great.
