Phoenyx's Final 10 & Journey to Fitness

World domination through destruction :reddevil: Where's your compassion, lady ??

Compassion left my body while I was doing my degree in organic chemistry :coolgleamA:

It was then I decided that my talents and intellect should be redirected toward the pursuit of death, destruction and domination :reddevil:

That being said, two out of three ain't bad :D

LOL glad to know that there are some other stoners here. ;) Ak47 it legal, fantastic- lucky you guys to be up there in California. Just wish the feds would mind their own business, though. Heard it's legal in Mexico now, up to a point. Heh.

--Disclaimer-- While I do not have the fun I used to, I'm still a fan! :troll: --Disclaimer--

p.s. Sorry, Phoeynx... Seems that your thread has been hijacked by the herbalists!! How's everything going? Sorry to hear of the small setback. I'm sure you'll get on top of that soon. :D

HEEEEEEEEEEY!!! Yesterday was my first climbing experience at Pacific Edge, check it out in my diary!

I like your post :D

Randy said a nice thing about you in his diary ;)

How is it we ended up getting involved or interested in rock climbing at the same time? That makes it, what… belly dance, yoga, weight lifting and now rock climbing. Too cool.

Now, how can we shimmy up a rock?

I saw Randy's comment… made me blush and say 'awwww'.

Well since I got dimed out, I better break my lurker mode. I watched Marijuana Inc. on CNBC last night. I wanna move out to Mendocino County. Feet up in exile with all that great looking bud. yum yum yum. Nice life, NorCal'ers <jealousy insert>

I reckon a maryjane med card isn't heavy work to obtain...

Anyway, just in here to read up on ya because you're so effen cool.

Peace, now.

Thanks, Randy. I need to make my husband read your post to remind him how lucky he is. :reddevil: Nah, I don't. He already knows. Though I do some things that annoy the crap out of him too.

US government just can't properly regulate it, so they keep it somewhat illegal. Go Cali! :sifone: Honestly though I don't smoke much at all--hurts my lungs that I need for running, makes me lazy when I need to get my shit done, and gives me munchies that I don't need because I already have a good appetite. But I'm a fan!

I like it when I have cramps and killer PMS! Much better than Midol or other such shat.

I can't deny the ability to soothe the cramps, but MJ messes with my brain way too much anymore. I can't even handle one hit. Besides, as an asthmatic not a good idea to smoke.

I just have to suffer with the prescription strength ibuprofen when it gets really bad. I've even resorted to vicodin a few times, but I'm out of that. Ah well, I didn't even need the ibuprofen this time, as it seemed the Midol was helpful for a change.

Hey Keri, good to hear you're going to get involved with the rock climbing genre!!! "Tying off the ropes" ... yeah, that's a pretty good one! :reddevil:

I absolutely LOVE Japanese food, but my favorite is miso soup and sashimi. I'm not much for the sushi, because the rice is loaded with carbs -- since I have to count my carbs, I prefer to get them from sources other than starch ;)

I like the sashimi too. More of a Nigiri fan, but yes, I am well aware of the carbs from the rice. That's why I don't eat sushi as much as I'd like to.

One thing I really like about that gym is its a pretty laid back atmosphere. Lots of 'kids' there (in their 20s) but it seems that climbing rocks mellows them out or something. Not the meat market that 24 hour is.

But I know Val would appreciate the scenery there with all the hawt hippy climber boys scaling the formations. There was one guy there, tall and no shirt on… I really had to appreciate that one. I could've gone Cougar if I wasn't happily married. :reddevil:

Ah no worries. I think its a sign of an enjoyable journal if it gets hijacked from time to time. Look at Val's.

Setback was PMS related. All is returning to 'normal'.

AK47? Trainwreck? WTF kind of names are these? I had to google it to make sure you were talking about types of bud. I am so out of the loop on that stuff these days because I don't do them anymore. Been years & years.

I like nigiri, too!

Keri, that gym sounds like the bee's knees :)

I don't like gyms that are meat markets, because IMHO, it detracts from the whole experience and reason the people are there. You already have a commonality: that being fitness. Turning a gym into a meat market only serves to degrade it.

Although I will admit to being the first girl to check out a hot guy, regardless of his age. I just draw the line at doing anything about it for the reason being I'm taken and quite happy right now :)

I can't wait to hear more about your wall climbing excursions! I'm really stoked for you!!!!

Very true, very true. :)

Smile on the types of bud, yes. They have gotten significantly stronger since the 70's/80's. They're among the best you can get. I've been out of that loop for a while myself, but it's only been a few years for me. I dunno on the names myself. I suspect it's probably a consequence of it being illegal & marketed by certain types of people. I personally would rather go for the scientific names... Well, that's a moot point now, anyway since I don't do that anymore. Heh.

LOL, the rigors of being back in shape & the spirit going free, huh? :D

One year later…

January 31 was the 1 year anniversary to the first appointment I had with the doctor I've been working with, February 1 was my first 'official' day on this journey.

1 year and almost 84 pounds later. Wow!

Gotta tell you, I feel 1000% better than I did a year ago. I feel like I have 'me' back. Now I need to stay on top of it, and not let myself backslide.

Which means I can't let days like today become the norm, but the exception. Super Bowl Sunday and I admit I made a right pig of myself today. Maybe not as bad as I would have a year ago, but still.

Last week was pretty good on the exercise front. Monday went to the gym, upper body workout then the 'intro to rock climbing' class where I learned the basics of belaying. Tuesday a yoga class at the gym in the morning, then back there for the 'rock climbing basics' class. That wore me out, made me aware of how much I need to build up strength in my upper body. Wednesday I took a 'break' but spent a good amount of time with sander in hand grinding rust off the Buick. Thursday another yoga class, Friday night a Vinyasa yoga class that kicked my butt, then cardio and some upper body weights on Saturday.

Haven't been reading too much here all week because I was working on getting a rather intense job application put together. Had to practically rewrite my entire resume, plus a lot of other things that needed to be put together to have this application submitted by Friday afternoon. Right now I'm kinda viewing it as a race to see whether I find another job before they are supposed to call me back to my 'current' job or not.

So, back to searching for a new job and back to healthier eating on Monday. I have to keep in mind that the Daytona 500 is a couple weeks away (YAY!!!) and I know it will be another cause for celebration.

That's a nice one-year update... something to be proud of for sure!

Good luck with the job hunting.

a little sore this morning

but oh man, so worth it! :reddevil:

My husband and I always get into tickle fights or wrestling matches. This one got a little more athletic than usual. Started on the couch, ended on the floor. I managed to hold my own pretty good.

Let me tell ya, a good wrestling match makes great foreplay. :reddevil:

Definitely feeling it in my arms and shoulders this morning though. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

That's usually how Matt and I end up starting things. I'll be the kitchen. He'll come up behind me (as all men do). Then I'll say "Not now, I'm cooking."
Then because he's male, he doesn't stop :D
Then I have to get physical with him so I try to pin his hands behind his back to stop him from touching me.
Then he gets physical with me and tries to do the same thing. He usually wins.
Regardless, then he picks me up and takes me wherever he wants. Once he puts me down, then we wrestle, we might do some gymnastics and try to outdo each other, too, but inevitably we will have sex.

One time in the middle of this, I said "This is going to get settled at the gymnastics club." He said "Fine."
So we drove to the gymnastics club and we started a tumbling war. Whatever he did, I had to top and vice versa.
He won, but only because he could get better height than I could. Bastard ;)

Now to make things interesting, we try doing acrobatics with each other, so we do hand stands and stuff with each other. It's actually quite erotic. It turns us on a lot ...

Resistance is futile :D

Shit. Now everybody knows what turns me on ... well, in reality, most everything does, so it's not like it's any big secret :p

Congrats on your 1 year anniversary! 84 lbs in a year, that's pretty good!

I'm sure that your husband is finding it more difficult now that you can move around faster. :D Well done!

Ooooooooo, I know what I'm initiating tonight... thanks for the ideas :)

Hey Phoenix. Wow, you have come a long way. Do you FEEL like a different person??

Been really busy

Sorry I haven't been here nor there lately… life's been a bit busy.

Still not back at my job, but I got a phone call from a former associate of my supervisors saying they needed help in the photo retouch area at their company. So I've been commuting to SF for the past week or so. Not a lot of time online lately.

Still trying to maintain working out as many days a week as I can with the crazy schedule. Somehow packed on a few pounds since the last weigh in. Luckily at least half of it is muscle, and the other half is probably water weight because its close to TOM again.

Took an Ashtanga yoga class for the first time this week. LOVED it! Last night's Vinyasa class was fabulous as always.

Feeling a little under the weather right now, so I'm gonna cut it short. I'll post more update later, and hopefully play a little catch-up on everybody's journals that I've been following.
