Phoenyx's Final 10 & Journey to Fitness

BTW, love to see car buffs here. Specially hot rods etc. Love to see pics of the truck.

Here are some. These were taken not long after my husband bought the truck. He's put different wheels on it since. Looks a lot better. I'll have to post newer shots later. I'm going to paint a skull design I'm working on on the bed above the rear tires eventually.

Thank you!

I would be interested in the rotator cuff program, because I do get a 'click' occasionally when I move a certain way. That's probably left over from doing something stupid in my early 20s. Plus being on the computer all the time, and the extensive image retouching I do, even with a digital tablet and trying to keep the placement as ergonomic as possible... I can still get a lot of soreness in the RC area. Thanks again!

The tension soreness is actually in my trapezius or the underlying muscles... you know, that area where rebar is often found between the neck and shoulder? Just need a good massage that lasts about a week... I'll be fine. :smilielol5:

PM me your email addy and I'll send it on over. :)

Aww phoenyx that truck is so cool! I wish I had one like that! The skull is going to be a badass addition. You are a great photographer, I love that "toy car" effect with the lense (unless that was some sick PSing)

Have a great day :)

Sent. Let me know if it helps at all.

Got the email! Thank you. I'll read through it tonight if not sooner.

Thank you! I admit I was a bit skeptical when my husband first told me he was looking to buy an old 4X4 that he could use as a hauler to thrash around in. I guess I'm a little too fussy about my truck for his liking, even considering all the parts I've hauled in it. Ah well, he's a gearhead, and he likes his toys.

The blurring was the only effect I added to the images. The camera I have is an ultra wide zoom Olympus that is a few years old. Its more advanced than a 'point and shoot', but not to the level of a digital SLR. I love that I can get some really wild wide angle shots with it.

Wooohooooo!!!

Stressful week, shitty sleep, yet I still lost a bit over a pound!

I'm now down to 160.3!!!!

Also down to 22.5% body fat! :hurray::willy_nilly::hurray::willy_nilly:

So this would make me on the high side of the range I have set for myself of 155-160. SWEET!!

Did my lunchtime walk yesterday afternoon, then went to my yoga class last night. Our instructor had us working on hip opening moves. My inner thigh muscles were well stretched afterwards.

I'm also finding a direct correlation between yoga focusing on the lower body and sudden spikes in my libido. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. :reddevil:

Decided I haven't been doing enough direct focusing on my abs so this morning I popped in the basic mat Pilates DVD I've had lying around gathering dust for a while. That was pretty cool. The challenge there is going to be keeping balance in some of the moves. I think I'll explore Pilates a bit further... it seems to tie in well with yoga.

Ah well, I've got some photography to do, and some image editing to finish.

Holy shit!!! :eek2: Congratulations, Wonder Woman!!! :hurray: :cheers2:

Heh... thanks! I only wish I had her bracelets... then I could deflect bullets instead of dodging them. :biggrinjester:

Lots of Yoga postures, especially hip-opening moves, increase blood flow to the pelvic region--like, say, Viagra :D

Ah... that explains a lot! Yoga as a pre sex warmup = a good idea. :willy_nilly::reddevil:

I need to get some current pics taken.

Wow...

So I'm looking at the printouts from the InBody 520 (the scale, body fat, weigh everything machine at the doc's office), comparing the numbers between 1/31/08 and today, 11/21/08. Pretty drastic difference.

Weight:
1/31/08: 241.6 lbs
11/20/08: 160.3 lbs

Lost: 81.3 lbs

Body fat:
1/31/08: 113.5 lbs or 47%
11/20/08: 36 lbs or 22.5%

Lost: 77.5 lbs

Lean Body Mass:
1/31/08: 128.1
11/21/08: 124.3
Lost: 3.8 lbs

BMI:
1/32/08: 35.7
11/23/08: 23.7

Pretty cool that it all gets broken down.

WOW.. that's a lot of weight.. and given how u only lost 3.8 pounds of lean mass, for an overall weight loss of almost 80pounds.. AMAZING :hurray::hurray:

u rock

Rewarding stats, for sure *claps*

I'm assuming (or kinda asking) this mirrors a terrific job done right ?? It sounds like you really didn't starve yourself or anything. 3.8 sounds minimal based on your total weight loss.

Thanks! Actually just a little over 81 pounds total. :biggrinjester:

I'm thinking it does, because I didn't lose too much in muscle mass. It breaks down even further than that, but I was falling asleep in the middle of typing this out last night... I'll add it in later. Gotta go to school for now.

The stats again...

What I find interesting is the increase on my left side. My dominant side is the right, which is evidenced in my January 31 numbers, but somehow I gained a bigger ratio in my left than my right side. I'm trying to think how that might have happened. Maybe the left responded better to weight training since it has been the weaker side? Made it easier to increase muscle much like the initial stages of weight loss are easier than those final few? I don't know, but it is an interesting theory.

----

I weighed myself this morning on the scale we have here. Its relatively close weight-wise to the one that is at my doctor's, since I weighed in at 160.0 this morning. Good to know, so I can keep an eye on it over the holidays. The body fat is WAY off though... so I won't let that bug me. I'm going to do the wrist/waist measurement technique (forgot what its called) to see how accurate the InBody is.

---

At 160.0 though, that is the high end of the 5lb range I am giving myself. I may get down to 155 and decide that's too low, and may decide that 158 is fine. But Im not going to go below 155. Whatever the scale tells me when I am happy with my overall composition (i.e. getting rid of those last few jiggly bits that are annoying the CRAP out of me), that and how my jeans fit... that is how I am planning to stay diligent about it.

---

Sounds like the doc I've been working with is planning on starting some type of support group for his patients, with a psychologist being the group leader. I may check it out once just to see if it is something worth going to regularly.

Of course if I need advice, it's just a few strokes of the keyboard on this forum, so it would have to be something pretty spectacular. :willy_nilly:

159.0 this morning. I can't complain about that!

I think its probably time to get rid of the ticker since I am within my target range. I don't know... we'll see.

I can tell its getting close to TOM... last couple days its been the hunger beast threatening to take over... where I want to unhinge my jaw and tilt back the fridge. Trying to be diligent about what I eat when I get like this so I don't backslide into chunkydome again. I did hit that point of being hungry where my temper was 0 to Kill in the drop of a hat. And I wanted a buffalo burger. So we went to Fuddrucker's . That was a goooood burger! Only ate maybe 1/3 of the bun itself, but the meat was mighty tasty. Had a few fries, but I'm really picky about fries anyway, and if they aren't a certain amount of crispy, they gross me out.

Ah well, I'm very glad this is a short week thanks to the holiday.

 First thing, you have done AMAZINGLY WELL with weight loss this year, WOW!!! :hurray: And not only that, but you don't appear to have debilitating body image issues like is so common among us women--maybe the martial arts helps(?) It just seems like you know you deserve it and you're excited to look and feel great, instead of freaking out over little things. Don't get me wrong, I understand and don't judge people at all for anxiety, it's just really impressive that you're so laid back about it all. You're amazing!

Anyway, I feel ya on the appetite thing--can't wait to start and feel not so hungry again!
