Phate's Journal

lol chillen

i just bought 30lbs of more weights, wohoo. Mainly for my deadlift.
Almost got in a car crash too, hit the breaks alittle too hard and the 10lb weight came crashing into my gears, put my car in neutral and almost took me on the opposite side of the road, thankfully there weren't any cars around me.

Had any bites on craiglist or whatever you put that ad on?

No bites for any free weights people were selling, but this one guy was selling his bench pretty cheap. I sent him an email telling him i was interested, he hasn't replied yet though. Though It's a pretty good idea i get a bench soon,
2 chairs + bean bag + 2 pillows = not the safest homemade bench

Though I've made gains, and some size gains i'm not that happy with the progress because i know i could be achieving more if i overcome this mental battle about bulking. I am going to take this bulk to the next level, and increase food intake significantly and see where this takes me.

I decided to do this, after seeing a friend and where he joked " damn, i thought by now you'd have put on some pounds and size on your arms ". Then I realized after thinking that i've been so insecure about my body image to the point where my bulk has been somewhat ineffective.

Lets see if i can take this to a new level.

Dont let what other people say to you mean sh** man. Everyone is different in there training. These guys that train and make fast gains are lucky. Just train like you are man and use all the knowledge that you are building up to become better and better. After a while you will reap what you sow.

Alot of guys lie about how much the train and lift etc so you have to take what people (especially guys) say with a grain of salt. Keep going and good luck with your new passion for your bulk.

Had a chance to go to the gym last night with my friends guest pass. Took advantage of seeing what some of my maxes are, deadlifted 185x5 4x. Even though that amount of weight seriously made my calluses worse. And messed around the weight with the squats from 150-180, and only did 5-8 reps. On 180 i guess i did 5 90degree squats...

I prefer to workout in my garage, don't like the gym's environment.

Well, its been a good 2 days since i've been to the gym and i've had 48 hours rest, and suprisingly my ENTIRE back is still sore as hell. Because of this, i'm just going to do the upper body session i was supposed to do today tommorow , then my second lower body on sunday, crammed side to side. I thought that I could actually continue doing my upper body session today, but even the back of my shoulders are somewhat sore, so that would hinder my military press, pullups/chins, bent over row, etc.

I was actually suprised that I'd be THIS sore just from 2-3 exercises. I didn't realize adding 50lbs to Deadlifts at the gym, instead of doing higher reps like i usually do would shock my body this bad. And doing that along with a few bent over rows.

Which makes me come to think that, if my back gets this much of a shock from heavy deads, maybe my lower weight/higher rep RDL"s are useless?

Either way, I am somewhat sick today and wouldn't be able to give the session my max, I will probably do some cardio later tonight.

Get to feeling better my dear friend. I will be thinking about you. Hang in there. I know your feelings, brotha.

Hope feel better soon.

From my heart to yours,
