Lunch
Lean Pocket (philly cheesesteak - they are soooo yummy)
1 Orange (about 10 sections)
Fruit2O Water
Total = 350

Snack
Banana
Fruit2O Water
Total = 93

I'm not drinking a lot today. The same water I had at lunch (around 12:30) I still have now (around 2:15).

I suggested that J and I go to dinner tonight at Red Lobster. I'm eager to see how I can manage dining out. I would have suggested my fave diner, but I can't get nutritional info for that. So, I chose Red Lobster because I can kind of plan my meal before I go. Most of the nutritional info for their menu items is available online.

good idea pre-planning! ive had some nasty wake ups from dining out.
Once i went to a thai place and stupidly assumed that thai were small and ate tons of veges and were healthy ... lets just say there wasnt a lot i could eat other than 1 dish of deep fried veges :/

what is philly cheesesteak ?

I didn't update yesterday after my dinner out at Red Lobster because I ended up pretty sick. I think it might have been a case of food poisoning. I did manage to stay within my calorie limit at the restaurant, but I don't think it mattered much because my 2am I had dairrhea and vomiting...and it lasted all Friday night and into Saturday. :puke:

I barely ate at all today, but I drank lots and lots of gatorade. I slept a lot. I'm finally feeling better, but my tummy still hurts. :(

I'm hoping I can get back on track tomorrow. I hate that my sleep schedule is a bit messed up now. It's after 1am and I'm very awake after having slept most of the day.

I don't think I'll be hitting up the Tae Bo tomorrow. I want to give myself another day to recover. I think I'll go for a walk instead - something light.

The weather looks like it's taking a turn for the better this week. :) It'll be nice after all the yucky snow and below freezing temps we've had.

Philly cheesesteak is a...well, generally speaking, it's a hoagie/sub - chopped steak with cheese and sometimes peppers, onions and mushrooms on a long roll. *drool* Philadelphia PA is famous for the sandwich.

The lean pocket consists of just steak and cheese, but tastes surprisingly good, considering I've had my fair share of real cheesesteaks right from South St., Philly.

ohhh gotcha.
How many cals has gatorade dare i ask? i dont drink it cause i tasted it once years ago and it made me throw up :/
You probably needed it after throwing up though, eww i hate being sick.

sorry to hear you weren't too well. being sick is the worst i think. hope you get back on track soon.

have a good week

Gatorade has 50 calories per serving (8 oz serving). It's good for rehydration, assuming you cut it with some water. Otherwise, it's got too much sugar.

I know a few people who don't like gatorade. It's ok. I only drink it when I'm sick.

Thanks, angel. :)

Oh thats not to bad then is it. Yeah i think it was possibly too sweet the time i had it - but i was sick at the time and it just sent me over the top :O

I almost forgot to update. About to hit the sack, but want to stay on track with the journal.

Lunch
Lean Pocket

Total = 320

Dinner, kind of...
Roast beef with carrots, peas, and potato
(ate very small amounts, as I wasn't really in the mood for it)
Total = 200
(this number seems very low, but if I had a bite of each, that's a lot...besides, my total for today is low, so there's a bit of wiggle room.)

Coffee w/ Splenda and 1% Milk
Total = 30

Late Meal/Snack (I had this pretty late, around 9pm)
Salad w/ Grilled Chicken Breast and Ranch (@ Denny's)
Unsweetened Iced Tea w/ Splenda
Total = 399

TOTAL TODAY = 1086

Didn't exercise today. Still wasn't feeling top notch. Everything but the salad was an effort to eat.

I'm really upset that I got sick the way I did during my first week of this new lifestyle. It means that my weigh-in will most likely be screwed up. I expected to lose around 5lbs (just because of water weight). I have a feeling my total loss will be higher than that because of all the expelling I did. I wanted a more realistic first week number so I can set realistic goals. I'm going to have to remind myself next week that I'm not always going to see the numbers I did this week. In fact, I may gain a few...

My birthday is Thursday. Most likely, J and I will go for dinner. I'm not going to binge, but I'm going to allow myself what I want, maybe even dessert, for that day. I just can't imagine enjoying a birthday dinner where I'm counting calories and worrying about dessert. Hopefully it won't cause too much of a yo-yo between this weigh-in and the next. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Weekly Weigh In
(2/25) Starting Weight - 185
(3/03) Today's Weight - 175

Total Loss = 10lbs

Comments: Aside from dropping water weight, I had been sick during the weekend. Therefore, I don't think this is an accurate number. Though, it is kind of nice to see it...

Breakfast
Cream of Wheat (instant, Maple Brown Sugar)
Coffee w/ Splenda and 1% Milk
Total = 188

Lunch

Dinner

Exercise
Right now (10:30am) exercise isn't looking too good. I've been working all morning and still have a lot left to do before I leave to teach. I may not end up exercising until this evening after dinner. I hate exercising after eating because it makes me feel like I'm going to hurl. We'll see. If that's what I have to do, I think I'll make it an evening walk, rather than Tae Bo, then just do the Tae Bo tomorrow.

I told J I want a DDR mat and game for my bday. I don't think he took me seriously. We'll see.

Heya, angel!
Yep, that's the dance game w/ the mat.
I hope he takes me seriously, too! The way he looked at me though...like I was crazy! LOL!!! I think I'll reinforce my bday wish tomorrow...ya know, just slip it into casual conversation:

Me: "So how was your day, J?"
Him: "Ok. The Lt. p*ssed me off again, but whatever. How was your day?"
Me: "It was ok. I want a DDR Game and Dance pad for my bday!"
Him: "..."

Hehehehehe....

I want DDR for PS3 but need to find a place to play it (and buy it!)
I'm still running a PS2, so I think I can find the game used at an EB/Gamestop. The mat I might have to get new, but I'm sure Wal-Mart or some similar place will have it.

Is it available for the PS3? (I would imagine so, considering how popular it is). Have you considered purchasing online?

The Breakfast is a repeat from earlier. I didn't know if I'd get a chance to update. I don't feel like editing my original post. Easier to copy and paste from my blog...

Breakfast
Cream of Wheat (instant, Maple Brown Sugar)
Coffee w/ Splenda and 1% Milk
Total = 188

Snack
1 Pear
Total = 98

Lunch
Salad w/ shredded cheese and Ranch Dressing
Total = 393

Dinner - My brother asked me to eat with him...I should have had just one of the chicken parm patties, but by the time I got a chance to eat, I was sooooo hungry. I did eat lots of veggies first, but it didn't seem to matter to my tummy. :(
Chicken Parm (frozen dinner)
Mixed Veggies
Cranberry Juice
Total = 824 - YIKES!

DAILY TOTAL = 1506

I'm not really happy with my calories today. I will do better tomorrow.

I'm not making excuses, but I had an extremely busy day. I went from 8:30am until 9 tonight, non-stop. I amazed myself when I found 5 minutes to throw together a salad for lunch!

Exercise
None. :(

How the hell do people manage to find time to exercise every . single . day? I really wanted to go for a walk today. It was absolutely gorgeous outside (for the first time in months). The sunshine was beautiful and I didn't even wear a coat today!!! Unfortunately, when I wasn't grading papers, prepping classes, or lecturing, I was running around like a moron looking for a cheap used car. Then, by evening, I had to go help my computer illiterate brother figure out why he couldn't access his email. LOL Watching a 52 year old who still likes vinyl records try to use a computer is good entertainment. I commend him for his willingness to learn.

Oh, I had to update one more thing that I think is just cute.

My parents have been very supportive of my "diet." (I hate the word diet) Anyway, both of them having been big the majority of their lives, they don't want to see me have the same struggles.

Today, my dad asks,
"So, how much have ya lost?"

I told him, "10lbs in a week.................but I think it's just from all the puking Friday!"

He laughed so loud he almost scared me.

Maybe others won't think it's so cute, but I do. My dad has been extremely depressed for the past two years. He refuses help (from us and his doctor). He used to be so full of life. Now, he just sits in a chair. It was great to see him smile, and amazing to hear him laugh like that again. :)

(Yeah, I'll always be a bit of a daddy's girl, even if he isn't really the daddy I used to know anymore).

Wow, I feel so scattered the past two days. I showed up for an interview this morning, only to discover that the appointment is actually for tomorrow morning!!! Ugh! I'm still searching for a super duper cheap car. The semester has picked up speed and I have papers all over the place.

If my brain were a puzzle, the pieces would be scattered across the universe today.

Breakfast
Coffee w/ Splenda and 1% Milk
Banana
Total = 215

Lunch
Salad w/ 1/2 cup shredded cheddar and 2 tbsp Ranch
Unsweetened Iced Tea
Total = 406

Comments:
I've given up on the Fruit2O.
It tastes ok, I guess. The problem is that it made me feel nauseous and even a little crampy. Something in that stuff makes me feel yuck. I've been drinking unsweetened Iced Tea w/ Splenda. I like the taste better and no yucky feelings.

Online is usually the only place we buy em, not to sure if its out for ps3 yet. We have a PS2 but its not in the lounge so not much room to move.

Love the new AV, your parents sound really cool :D

Hehe, thanks angel. Unfortunately, I'm still missing a few puzzle pieces. It's ok though...I sent my cat looking for them!

Yeah, my parents are ok. They get on my nerves sometimes, but I think that's normal for my situation. I lived on my own for a long time, and had to move back in after some life stuff happened. Overall though, they're pretty cool!

I'm working on my teaching certificate so I can teach in a school district. Right now, I teach English, Public Speaking and (sometimes) Ethics at a local 2 year college. I really really love my work, even if it does overwhelm me sometimes. :)

Dinner
Kielbasa (loaded with calories and fat - stuck to 1 serving, that's 2 oz)
Pierogies (2)
Green Beans (loaded up on these)
Broccoli (just a bit)
Unsweetened Iced Tea
Total = 377

I am currently living w/ my parents. Mom cooks dinner every night. This is extremely convenient for me, but not so good for my waist line. Tonight is a perfect example of a dinner that was difficult for me to control my portions. I think I did a good job.
