Petals diary

Deciding to limit your stress during May is a very good idea, Petal & I have decided the same thing. It's my birth month & I'm going to be kind to myself & gentle. Sending you lots of love :beating:

2.5 lb down is great! Agreed that you don't need to stress about weight, but if it's coming off - and if you're starting to crave things like melon! - then that's something to be happy about!

Gentleness, taking it easy, garnering the fruits of previous struggles... sounds good to me! :)

Just over half a stone away from target is really exciting! Even if you had to suffer a bit to get there.

Yep, taking it day by day is the way to go. Glad things are better.

Turns out stress combined with sticking to my slimming world plan gave me a weight drop of 2.5lb.
Great news, and I suspect it had more to do with sticking to your plan than the stress. Do you really find stress helps? I would think sticking to the plan would reduce stress at least a bit.

Good to see you posting, and here's hoping the stress is all in the past!

Thanks Cate . Gentle sounds good. My stress levels are reducing thankfully day by day. Getting some walks in and lots of work done. My Bp has been a bit high so it's important I chill a bit. When I honk back to a week ago it's no wonder really it was high.

Thanks Amy and LaMa

Em I have never been close to target before well not for many years.

Rob and Jack I think it depends on the stress . This stress made me physically not able to eat at times .emotionsl stress sends me to the biscuit tin. It depends I suppose.

Well as I said stress levels reduced further as the exams are now cancelled and last 2 years of assessment are being used . My role as home tutor now finished . What a difference a week makes in my life. Going to chill a bit and then start thinking on a major house declutter and some garden projects . And order myself a few more books to read.

That is such good news about the exams being cancelled. What a fantastic Mum you are Petal. We never stop being Mums but you deserve a break sweetie. Tomorrow is Mothers Day here in Australia. Happy Mothers Day for tomorrow, my lovely friend xoxo

There's only one way to treat this news - part-ttyyyyy!

JK - I guess that's not on the menu these days. Still...nice!

Wow! Sudden major change! and lovely for you being suddenly free to do so much - and to enjoy so much! Really, really good. I'm loving the idea of you throwing yourself into laidbackness - with gardening, and reading and walking, and eventually outings to places you haven't had the time for for ages... Enjoy it, lovely Petal! :)

It must be an odd feeling for the students, though - suddenly it's all over, all the schooly part, anyway. How does your daughter feel about it?

Hey Petal, good to see you here! Congrats on the loss of tutor duties!

Hard to imagine your house needs a whole lot of decluttering, lol!

Watch that BP, its important.

Thank you Cate , Lama, Em, Rob, Jack , Amy you are all lovely .
Had a lovely day yesterday. Walk in town ( not really allowed as it’s not 5km from home ) but we had some light shopping to do so we walked the town to get it . And husband got his coffee take out so that was nice .
Started the decluttering and had a nice dinner . We all sat chatting and laughing last night . Daughter was in top form and i guess now knowing she is free from exam pressure is huge for her . Son had a zoom party last night . I woke during the night and could hear raucous laughter coming from the sitting room . Was funny . Glad he had a good time . He is now in his last week of college. Must be hard as he is missing his friends and girlfriend. But they all In the same boat .

Easy day today and I start getting back into a good routine tomorrow .

Happy Mother’s Day to all even though Wd has ours already I know some of you have today .

I am so glad that a lot of your stress has lifted, Petal. I think our offspring should have a greater appreciation for what they have after all this. Like the song Big Yellow Taxi "Don't it always seem to go, that we don't know what we've got 'til it's gone.." I know I will, even more than I did before.
It will be nice for you to get into an easier routine, with fewer balls to juggle.

Sounds like the household is getting happier! The town walk sounds nice, good for you.

What is a zoom party like? Do the kids have fun? I guess lots of people are doing them now, not me though.

Thanks LaMa , Cate and Rob. Yep all is getting less stress here . I have not got zoom but I think they just all chat and had a few drinks. As I said there was lots of noise and laughter.

Listening to my podcasts this morning so had motivated me to move a little more . Just get more active . I have more time now so no excuses . Had a good walk last night but it was chilly out . I had hoped to go before work but I have been sleeping on a bit some mornings so it’s harder . I have also started some tai chai . Just from you tube so far . Only did it once and want to start it again more regularly. I think Cate and Amy do it ?

I had hoped to go before work but I have been sleeping on a bit some mornings so it’s harder .
I think a lot of people are going to have trouble get back into a work rhythm once they´re allowed to actually go to their work place again :) Well done on yesterday´s walk though.

We all sat chatting and laughing last night .
What a lovely vignette of the best of family life!
I have been sleeping on a bit some mornings
My theory is that if (usually busy, like you!) people are sleeping, it's probably because their bodies could do with a bit of extra sleep! :) And yes, I do tai chi - but that phrase covers lots of different styles, so I don't know if the kind I do is the same as the kind Cate does, or on the Youtube - my kind has 24 forms.
Anyway, keep on enjoying the new calm, as well as the new freedom to exercise! :)
