Sorry you are having so much trouble getting on the site. Is there a way to bookmark things on an ipad?

That's sad that your assertiveness exercise made you guys fight. I hope things are better now.

I try to eat filling things for meals and then it is easier to skip the snacks. I am eating around 2 big meals a day and sometimes a small snack for the 3rd meal if I am particularly hungry. The good fats really help.

Nice your son is home!! Hope your stomach feels better!
 
Thanks Marisa . Feel better now . It’s fine as I can get in from the phone . If I can get it on my iPad I will bookmark it .
Son gone back to uni now but will be back week after next .
Actually the fight was ok as he realises he was in the wrong and I normally let him away with stuff . I have been trod on many times . He told me today he appreciates all I do . So not too bad !

Thanks Mary for the link .i will have a read . I’m not a late night snacker per se any more thanks to it giving me bad heartburn so I seldom eat after my last meal. My problem is more emotional eating or mindless . Think I’m getting on top of it.

My next task is to write a list of what I want to achieve by this time next year . So it’s a list of dreams and goals and some ideas on how to achieve them . I will write them here and also in my notebook . So that’s tomorrow job .
 
Sorry that you had a fight, hope the dinner after helped smooth things over. Sometimes it's better to air your grievances than hold on to resentment!

I wish I had the bulking up problem that your son has, haha! :D
 
Hi Petal, what about emailing yourself the link from your phone to your ipad email?

That is so wonderful your husband really appreciates you and will tell you!!! My husband finally told me this after 15 years, and it was a major thing that really helped us! It's so hard because when there is conflict, it is harder to trust each other unless there is that feeling that you are each others' "home", I think.

Thank you for sharing the book exercises! I really like the one of writing about where you want to be in a year. I think I will try that one, too!
 
Ha I thought you might join me in that Marsia . Yeah I haven’t got email on my iPad so I will put it on and that might work . Actually the phone working ok at moment and I’m accessing it more so maybe it better . Just find it hard on eyes .

Em yeah my son lucky to have that problem.

Hi, Petal. How do you access the forum on your iPad? I have it saved as a bookmark on Google Chrome on my laptop & also have Chrome on my phone & the bookmarks are accessible easily on both.
It takes husbands a while to get used to us being more assertive if we have been more passive in the relationship previously. I used to try to avoid any conflict by giving in too & it is not good for us at all (or them really). I don't do well with conflict & have always tried to avoid it. We do need to speak up for ourselves however & not feel that our true selves get lost in a relationship.
 
Well it's working on my iPad again . And I have now bookmarked it . So we see how it goes. Cate you have described me to a T . I am the same I hate conflict and I keep my mouth shut often to avoid it. I have got a little better over the years but huge room for improvement.

Right my achievements plan for the next 12 months

To be more assertive
To care less what people think
To travel abroad with my husband(story there might seem like a strange achievement)
To spring clean my house and keep on top of it
To visit my aunts/uncles at least once this year
Connect more with my own siblings/friends
Do more for my sister in law and my mother in law both who need help
To do a hobby just for me
To make a small veg patch
To lose 20lbs
Lower cholesterol
Get fitter


It might seem strange to have the weight loss at the bottom but for me I get so overwhelmed with things and when my goal is to just lose weight well I put it on.

So how to achieve all of the above

First 2 I am currently working on
The travel - decide a location and just book it and stop procrastinating ( should add to list no procrastination because I'm good at that )
Spring clean - am starting that this week tackle it room by room a little every day and set aside a little time to keep on top of it )
Aunts and uncles - I may in the summer pick a Sunday and visit them . Or at Easter I will do .
Friends and siblings - message more and set a time just to catch up . I do this anyway but huge room for improvement ( however I find I'm the one who normally does it be nice if they did )
The mother in law and sister in law is hard . Time is a big constraint here but visit mother in law once a month is now a must and must be done. Sis in law will reach out more by messaging
Hobby - reading the above where is the time lol . Reading a lot now so will continue and have a lovely jigsaw to do
Veg patch - new hobby too . I'm starting really small with this and could just be a few tubs .
The last 3 - keep up my healthy eating , plan my meals , 30 mins (min) walk 5 day week and some resistance training . Weekend hikes to be reinstated as I love them and they can be incorporated with visits to in laws and others . They can be incorporated with keeping up with my siblings . My walks are priority and come before cleaning etc

Honestly I actually feel very overwhelmed by all of that above. If I didn't work or have school stuff to contend with it's a doddle but time is a huge constraint but I do waste a hell of a lot of time doing nothing so I think I can achieve a lot of it . I will revisit this in a months time and see how I am progressing and flex it if need be .
 
I love your plan & I also think we have a lot more in common that I thought. I've had an emotional day & will expand on that more after tomorrow xo
 
It might be helpful to put as many of those tasks as possible into your calendar to a) see if you really have the time and b) make procrastination less tempting.

Wow, it's a great list! I do the same, get overwhelmed by all the stuff I want to accomplish, but then it could really be about trying things out and seeing what works! I hope the part where you do things for you doesn't get lost in all of this, though!

LaMa I have a planner and I am using it a bit so I will do that for sure .
Marsia i am hoping that the things for me will be at the foremost because the whole idea of it is to improve my life so the reading jigsaws garden will take priority. There is so much more to think about but I may park it or get help for it . For example my garden furniture all need stripping and painting I don’t have time but would love it done for summer so I think I will research somewhere to get it done .
 
I can picture you relaxing outside in your garden with a good book out in nature that relaxes you! It's great you are making your happiness a priority and I bet you will be a lot happier this time next year!! I am still thinking about what to write for this assignment, and will give it a try later today.
 
I went to the store today and bought some new resistance bands and a skipping rope as one of weekly challenges is to try a different exercise . So I’ll skip a bit . I used to like skipping.

Good day so far , had a short work day and came home and vacuumed then to the shops and bit of a walk . Feel tired now though .

Dinner will be a salad I think and fish .
 
Wow, skipping rope burns so many calories - that would be so great! Hope you like the resistance bands, too. Are they the kind you hang on your door and hang from or the kind you put around your arms or legs to try to separate like using weights?
 
They are just long elastic bands . I had a rubber one but find it so hard to use and hurts my hand . These look and feel much better . I think my skipping will be slow but will start off and try improve it .

I’m absolutely exhausted tonight . Had my salad but grilled some crispy bacon for the salad instead of fish . It was really delicious.
 
Your salad sounds great! I am the same way starting new exercises - I just do a little and then I will come back to it next time with a positive experience under my belt. Hope you have a nice restful night!
 
GOOD morning . Woke late today . I was so tired . I will surely ease into skipping . Not opened it yet lol .

Right today’s task could be hard .

I have to do a random act of kindness . I often do these of course like the other day I helped a lady who fell . Another day random stranger came and knocked on my car window and asked me to drive her to the doctor. She was very old and bless her had no warm coat . So it’s easy when an opportunity arises . It doesn’t have to be a big act can be small and simple . I did sort of do one this morn with my daughter something I would normally admonish her about today I let go which meant we were running late but she was happy getting in car for school and so was I as opposed to us both being grouchy . I was a little late ( only on my own schedule I’m a bit OCD about time ) but it made me realise what does it matter . Maybe there is a point to these tasks after all .
