Petals diary

Good for you! Sounds like you got through Christmas just fine.

Actually my scales now showing a 2lb gain at home . Kind of gave me shock . I know I get away with eating anything really I'm not allowed but I'm hoping if I'm on plan again totally it will rebalance ( here's hoping !!) .
It's scary to think that a day or 2 off plan can be so bad

I don't think it is, my guess the apparent weight gain is temporary, and mostly water. You would have to eat something like 7,000 calories above your plan to really gain 2 pounds. I don't think you did that.

Hang in there, you will be fine!

It will be gone in one day, Petal. It does frighten you though, doesn't it? Pft! Begone that 2 lbs!

Oh, Petal! You know it's not real, though, don't you? It's water, plus what's sitting in your system, and 24 hours will see the beginning of the drop back down, definitely! I'm up, too, and I made the decision (as per the kindness to self mantra) not to be crabby with myself about it, but just to take it easy and start again.
Also - look at where you're starting from - way back down on even a month ago! You'll do great - you'll do even better than before! :hug2:

What the others said. These unpleasant numbers serve no other purpose than to shock us back to eating on plan.

Rob no way did I eat 7000 calories . I imagine the salty snacks play havoc with me. Cate yes so easy to put on and could continue like that for a week and half stone before I know it. Amy yes I know and we worked hard to give ourselves that buffer . Now we get it off again .

It's actually great to write here and be in check . Yesterday a great day kept to plan until late last night . But I only had a couple of mint choc and a handful of ptretzels. Today now complete cut back. And I walked yesterday too. I'm not going to weigh now again until Sunday morning .
I watched a sad movie last night the light between the oceans . Enjoyed it though. Haven't seen too many people outside my immediate family . I'm ok with that though. Nice to enjoy some relaxing time .

Oh I got an airfryer for Christmas. I did roast potatoes in it Christmas Day they were delicious. And last night I made some chips ( fries) for my husband ( he had been unwell and not eaten much and he was going out on taxi dad duty late ) and they looked great. Looking forward to experimenting with it. Not just for potatoes .

Isn't it good to be right back on track? G & I haven't seen anyone except our immediate family since Monday & it has been lovely.
Do you like the airfryer, Petal? Is it better than cooking in an oven?

I like the idea of it . You can set a timer . I think it will be convenient for some meals . I need to look up some recipes now . There are the roast potatoes .

Great to be back on track and not waiting until January like every other year . Feel good this morning.

Look good, real good!
Yesterday a great day kept to plan until late last night . But I only had a couple of mint choc and a handful of pretzels.
Can you try to do a fruit snack instead? I have always had trouble not eating in the evenings, so I just plan to eat a low cal snack. Pretzels are about the lowest calorie salty snack you can find, I buy them in 100 calorie packages, then feed a couple to the dogs so I get a ~90 cal snack. Not as good as fruit, but not bad. I have not had chocolate since going on the diet, but I think in small doses its probably fine.

I agree with LaMa, but think of it as more of making your track wider or more flexible.

Rob I eat lots of fruit . I am struggling a bit . We have chocolate laying about but it’s not too bad . I’m just about coping . Had lots of salad today .

Babysitting tomorrow for my nieces and nephew . I will bring a snack box with fruit and cheese I think . Maybe a little salad already prepared . Have dinner out Sunday and company here Monday but that will be ok as I just do a roast maybe .

You'll get your mojo back, Petal. It's harder at this time of year with all the temptations everywhere. Being prepared makes such a difference. You've got this.

I'm fascinated to be hearing about the air-fryer! How did the chips go? What else are you thinking of, besides potatoes?
What a lovely aunt you are, baby-sitting! Taking a snack-pack is good - partly because you never know what treat they might have lying in wait for you temptingly, with them only wanting to show their gratitude for your kindness, of course, not meaning to be tugging you off-track. (Great to be back on-track, by the way! Go, you!)

Cate, yes I was pretty prepared and I ate all my fruit. LaMa have the company arriving in 4 hours so I need to get up and start prepping. Amy the chips were great I had only a little though . I will experiment when I have more time. But using for roasties again today.
The babysitting went super well. I think I will be called on more often. there is a child with special needs involved so I was anxious but it was fine. I was very tired after it . I actually slept very late yesterday hence not getting time to post. I went shopping then yesterday early afternoon and bought some boots jeans and a sweater in the sales. Very casual but I love them. Then we had a family meal in the Italian .ichose a dessert instead of a starter and I didn't eat all my main course as I was getting full. I then visited my friend last night and had a coffee and glass of water. She knows I'm dieting and didn't press cake or sweets on me.
I have been picking at a few chocolates at home but nothing out of control .
I have to go and clean and cook now and also supposed to be helping daughter with an English comprehension. I really haven't time for all !!!!
