Pequin Weight Journal

The doctor's appointment went well. No allergy shots - yay! But he wants to reevaluate in 6 months. Ok, fine by me. He was doing to standard exam when he glanced at my current & past weight. And then the biggest smile came across his face. Lost 30lb?... no, 35 actually. I told him that the asthma has let up and I'm up to 1+ miles everyday. He was so happy - practically dancing.. lol. This guy is so cute, I just want to shove him in my pocket and run away. Made my day.

Awww that's so lovely well done!!!!

Mornin Everyone. Down another 2lb. today.
I didn't break 300 yet, but I know I will next week.
So exciting!! :D:D:D

I have the mother of all headaches today. Think I'll take a few tylenol and go back to bed.
Have a great day!

Thanks guys! :D:eek:

After putting around here for a little bit I felt like a total slug for not going out for a walk today. Yesterday was my cheat day. So I bandaged up the ugly blister, tied on a scarf & some shoes, popped a Tylenol and went out with the full intention of doing 1/4mile... just keep the habit fresh. I figure if I'm going to dish out some motivation & advice to you guys then I should take some of it myself. Well... I got out there and just kept going. So 1 mile for today. And in 22 minutes with a throbbing head & gimp foot. Yay!

A quote to sum up my gratitude:
"If you're respectful by habit, constantly honoring the worthy, four things increase: long life, beauty, happiness, strength." -Aruni Buddha

You are all beautiful, you make me happy and you are my strength - thanks for helping my lengthen my life. ;)

Hey Pequin, I had to catch up on stuff I missed.

I'm glad that everything is going well, and that you keep pushing yourself. 2lbs - wow girl, just a few more to go before you're in the two-wahoos. (I just made that up, and I like it :p)

Have a good weekend :D

Howdy all, how was your Saturday?
Mine was pretty good. We spend the afternoon at my grand parent's house for my 2nd cousin's birthday. She turned 2. We were there with a handful of my cousins, my aunt & her hubby. It was so much fun - like old times for a little bit. Like when we were kids with my cousins fighting, my grandma laughing & grandpa farting.. lol. For all their faults, god help me - I love them all.

I even stepped out of my hidy-hole to scoop ice cream for everyone AND retired to the living room with everyone else!! I'm trying. :D:D

But.. there was cake. And I ate the cake with the ice cream... and it was good. And then theres the dessert after supper that I hadn't anticipated. So yes, I went over. *shame*

No rest day tomorrow though, I plan on walking a mile to make up for the day. Now I MUST be good until Thanksgiving.

Breakfast: 1/2 bagel with cream cheese, 3/4 can tomato soup
Lunch: chinese chicken pizza, cauilflower, orange juice

I'm very curious because you seem to always count your calories very carefully to the tee. I'm not that careful but would like to be. How do you figure out calories for like the fudge cake? Was there nutritional info? Did you ask the person that made it before hand?

lol, sorry, but I go to calorie-count.com or fitday and I get information overload for all the different kinds of things there are. It really drives me crazy.

Glad you had a good Saturday. :) You're doing great even though you ate cake... we can have cake once in a while right? :)

Hey PEQ,
Congrats on 2 lbs gone! Yum cake and ice
cream! I think I ate everything I craved all week in 2 days!
I went double overboard, you didn't do that bad! Have a gr8
Sunday, it's cold now again goodbye 70's lol!

2 cakes in one day was just more than I could turn down.. lol.

The fudge cake was a Smart Ones (thank god!) But if I'm making things from scratch, I enter the recipe on here:

If I don't have the recipe, I just go by my best estimate. Or if its a brand name product, I do a google search for the nutritional information. If I have the original package, I enter on spark.

Ok, confession time - if I don't know for sure, then i just guess. I figure if I'm off a few calories, most days with won't matter. But the one thing I am very diligent about its the amount. I made sure to get a good visual idea of what 1T. , 1t. , looked like. I had no clue what 1T. of food looked like when I started. I figure, if I know how much I ate then I can guess the calories based on whats on spark.

After a while, I can sort of just guess & I try to guess a bit high if I'm not sure. I tried Fitday & wasn't happy with it. Drove me batty too. Spark has a more visual system & I learn easier with images. If it's pretty then I'm more apt to use it and enjoy it...

Gosh I hope that all made sense..lol.

Yep, made lots of sense. Thanks, lol. I tryyy to do the things that you mentioned. But I just get too annoyed and just hope that I didn't go over. lol.

But I do know measurements by eye now too. That comes in handy...

I get soo annoyed with it all too, some days it feels like the darn calories guides are taking over!!..lol But I try to come ad it in as fast as I eat it so that I don't have to do it all at once. I've been know to add the calories while I'm sitting at the desk eating them  ..lol Less stressful for me that way & I know what I have to work with from meal to meal.

P, I do the same thing. Especially if I'm eating at my desk at work. It helps to have a good idea of what is in foods. If its homemade and I'm really clueless, like if someone else made it I'll demand they tell me whats in it so I can add it up...lol! otherwise I just know how much I ate and guesstimate on spark.

Great job on the poundage lost P! I'm so proud of you! you are rocking this weight loss like its nobody's business!

lol, I sit and add calories right at the desk too. I also have a calculator in the kitchen so I can just jot it down real fast while I'm in there. But sometimes we'll make something, and I'll just have no clue. But the key thing to do is eat in moderation I guess. Anyway, yeah. *sigh* lol.

BTW, Very cute avatar!! What is that? A devilish ducky? How cute. :D

Yep, thats my favorite rubber ducky, his name is Ax. He has devil horns, pooka beads & sunglasses cause he's so cool. ..lol I have a whole flock of ducks hanging around my desk, even one with a nose ring like mine... lol. I just love rubber duckies!!

I figure if I'm going to dish out some motivation & advice to you guys then I should take some of it myself.
HaHaHa, Im like this as well, it is always easier said than done...I have no problem saying allt hat needs to be said, it is doing it myself I have troubles with...

OH and a duck with devil ears...too damn cool!!!

You are all beautiful, you make me happy and you are my strength - thanks for helping my lengthen my life. ;)
