Wow - had to go back a couple of pages - Thank you everyone!! Y'all put a big smile on my face this morning. I'm feeling 100% better... except for the dragon breath and the hang over. Why is it, no matter how much you brush your teeth the day after a bit of drinking, your mouth still feels scummy? Bleh. And I didn't get totally sloshed, just one foofy fruity beer thingy. (yeah I get a hangover from one beer.. but I can do whiskey shots until the cows come home and be fine the next day.. weird.) I watched Elisabethtown until I was sick of crying... course now I want to go on a nice long road trip.. lol.

Today will be better!! And I will definately work on getting calories back up into range... maybe that will help.

Thanks again everyone!! *head bands to AC/DC out the door* .|..| :p:D

Just did 1 1/2 miles.. and here are three things I hate:

1. The Southern Indiana weather. Two days ago it was a monsoon. I can home soaked to the bone. Yesterday it was ice cold with a nipple cringing arctic wind, I was thanking God that I went and bought this fleece track suit (which REALLY helped with the asthma & chest pain - thanks whoever suggested it.) Then today I put on the fleece & bundled up.. ice cold two days in a row - logic dictates that it would be cold today too.. Right? WRONG - it was hot and humid! The bees are back out and the dragon flies are making 'ect.' on my car antenna!!

2. Dogs. I was just walking along - minding my own business when I came up on a dog. A big dog, a chow mix (bad experiences with chows - not my favorite breed.) No tags, no obvious owner around. Crap. It wasn't growling but it was frozen except for the tail. Not a good sign.. so I look forward - keeping him in my peripheral vision, pull out the pepper spray and keep walking...

Then he attacks, bare teeth, snarling and snapping. Nice. Thankfully he didn't bite me, but way came too close for comfort. I did NOT spray him... which leads into number three.

3. Rude People. The lady who owns the dog, about 3 houses up from where we were, pokes her head out her screen door and calls the dog. I nicely yell, "He almost bit me!!"
Her: *Gives me a stone cold look and throws her hands up, like "so what".*
Me: "Ma'am, please - Could you take your dog in, I have pepper spray." *holding up the mini personal cute Canadian jogger in a can*
H: "WHAT?! - *inaudible mumbling*" - finally taking the dog in.
M: "He almost bit me!"
H: *slams screen door with an inappropriately loud bang.*
And I think it's over and walk past - shaking but no real harm... then I hear behind me, "*inaudible* FAT BITCH!!"

Now could someone please tell me why it has to go there?? Because I'm an overweight woman? C'mon - let us not state the obvious and try a little harder please.

Now to counter act the bad vibes and because I heart balance.. 3 things I love:

1. Y'all. You guys just rock. It could have been terrible day. But I wake up to find everyone's nice comments & concerns. *big forum hug* Thanks guys. :D:D:D:D

2. The fact that I can tie my jacket around my waist. I did it without thinking - get hot, take jacket off, tie around waist, keep walking. And then it hit me with an audible thud, I had to stop walking just to take it in... I can tie my jacket around my waist now?? I can tie my jacket around my waist!!! When I started, I couldn't - I had to lug the jacket over my shoulder.

3. Autumn. The temp might be screwy but the trees are changing from green to brown and the sunlight is hitting them just right so that the whole neighborhood glows a delicious shade of gold. The mums are in bloom, pumpkins are popping up on door steps and the air has an intoxicating earthy smell.

Ok and because you just can't have too many good vibes:

4. Snack Time. Some days it's so nice to sit and enjoy an apple, some yogurt, few chocolate flavored rice cakes and a cup of tea.

Have a great day everyone!! :D:D:D:D

I hate rude pet owners. I have a dog who is getting old and has lately been known to bite on rare occasions when she is scared or threatened. I know this, so when I take her out I keep her on a short leash and there is never a problem. on our end. I can keep her under control, and she feels secure from the leash.

But then other people in our neighborhood think it's just fine to let their dogs walk unleashed. Yah, maybe YOUR dog doesn't bite, but MINE DOES and when yours comes charging up to mine with a big friendly tail wag and butt sniff, it won't be my fault when your dog gets hurt.

And the worst part is that it's not the other dog's fault, it's the inconsiderate owner that thinks just because they have a nice dog everybody else does too.

On to happier things, so happy for you Peq! Keep it up! Your persistence encourages me!

OMG, I can't believe some people. I mean is that really neccesary!! I have a story that is pretty rude to. About 3 months ago I was walking minding my own business when this lady walks by with her friend and says
Lady: Thats a really cute outfit you have on!
Me: Thanks alot.
So I go one with my business then she says
Lady: I knew BIG girls could be cute and not have their stomachs all hanging out and looking sloppy!
Me: SHOCKED!!
I couldn't believe that someone would feel like they were doing me a favor by first calling me BIG then follow up a compliment with an insult. It really hurt my feelings. Especially since I had just started working out. Plus there were people everywhere!

Anyhoo just identifying either way screw them rude stupid heads!

The story about rude pet owners got me thinking about one more thing. I take horseback riding lessons every saturday (now THAT is a workout! Everything from grooming to saddling to riding is a workout in a different way). I ride out in a huge park we have that goes over a little mountain in the city. This mountain is headquarters for all sorts of park activity including horses, runners, bikers, and motorcycle riders.

A few weeks ago my teacher and I were on the trail and came up to a road where there were some other horses waiting to cross on the other side. We were all waiting for some crotch rocket riders to pass. Just as they got to the horses, they gunned it.

My horse and my teacher's horse handled it OK. But the other two on the other side of the road didn't. The lady's horse spooked, threw her off and bolted, which spooked her husband's horse who bolted as well with him on it. The lady cracked her head pretty hard and was bleeding but OK. We tracked down the horse and got them all set to go to the doctors.

Now I'd like to think that the motorbike riders did it on accident, but they could have killed one of us or gotten the horses injured.

So - lesson is, if you ever see horses by the side of the road, please be considerate and don't do anything unexpected.

1. The Southern Indiana weather.

I have a lot of family in Indiana. I've never been there, but I always hear stories about the cold, cold weather. I don't think I could ever live in cold climate. (I live in California). But I'm sure the snow is beautiful there when it comes.

This is one of my biggest fears. You handled the situation good, and at least the dog didn't bite you!! And how rude that lady was, ugh!!!

The fact that I can tie my jacket around my waist.

That's great!!! It's the little (but BIG) things like that that keep us going. :):)

How pretty!! I love Autumn, it's my favorite season cuz everything is so beautiful.

And it sounds like you're doing really good on your exercising, congrats!!!

Another story about rude people!

One of my coworkers came in the other day with a big bag of oreos and said "My wife said she hasn't finished losing the baby weight, so I brought these in for you."

LOL, men. He didn't mean it to be insulting, but in one statement he insulted both me and his wife.

I ate the oreos.

I had this happen to me, only it was someone I thought was a friend:( Even now, over a year later, it still hurts. I hate it when people make a personal insult over something that it has nothing to do with.

4. Snack Time. Some days it's so nice to sit and enjoy an apple, some yogurt, few chocolate flavored rice cakes and a cup of tea.

I love snack time too:D

Well guys I am just copying and pasting this for everyone. Trying to keep up and not having a lot of time. So I'll make it short and sweet. Hope you are having a wonderful day!!

Not offended!

I'm glad it worked for your mil. For some people it's a true life saver. It's also a very personal decision. I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that it was bad, it isn't at all. Nor do I think it's the easy way out all. I think it would be the hardest thing to do because of all it involves, the strict diet and intense exercise regimen plus the impact that is has on all of the body's normal functions. It's not the easy way out at all.

I just thing for me it would be me like me saying that I can't do it on my own. That I can't get my issues together. For me it would be cop out on my pride I guess, an emotional cop out of sorts. And too - if I must follow all of those things after the surgery, then I should do my best to make those changes before it becomes a true necessity.

Sorry if I offended, that wasn't my intent.

I wasn't offended at all! Sorry if I offended you! I totally understand why you wouldn't want to! I respect that! Have a good day!
