Thank you! I really needed that rant! :) Portions are the key!!! I'm so excited to learn this simple rule! ;)

I sort of cheated a bit...in a controlled way, last night with rice chips (dill pickle). Afterwards I thought ew that was sort of yucky tasting with all those chemicals! :p I'm starting to crave healthy! Woohoo!

I hope your legs feel better today. I will take you up ON that offer about Sparks. 1st question- points, what that all about? I didn't get the memo

My legs feel a little better...I did strength training yesterday instead. Going for a long walk soon though!

When I first went to spark people I just had a little look around, didn't see much...but then I signed up and it was magic! I don't know what the points are for, motivation I think. I know there is a way to see who has the most points. I want to become obsessed about the points in order to lose! ;) They have a little trophy on the right hand side of your screen based on how many points you have. The more you get, you get a trophy.

Here is what SP says about points:


While the bathroom scale and other physical measures are good ways to measure how you're progressing towards your goals, SparkPeople believes that there are many useful ways to measure the success of your program. One of these is SparkPoints. We designed SparkPoints to encourage people to perform activities and tasks that are proven to help our members reach their goals.

Our SparkPoints tab contains everything you'll need to track your points. Some tasks, such as tracking foods, are automatically recorded while others, like reading articles, require you to click a button to record your points. Next to each point-earning task you'll see an "Info" button that you can click to learn more about how the task can help you reach your goals and how to get points for performing the task.

Finally, if you want to show other members how well you're doing with SparkPoints you can click "SparkPoints Settings" and specify that you want your SparkPoints to appear next to your posts on the message boards and on the SparkPoints Individual Leaderboards.


We know that the more often people visit SparkPeople, the more weight they lose. So you'll earn SparkPoints daily just for logging in. To make SparkPoints more fun, you can spin the wheel to get your bonus login points for the day.

On most days you'll get a few points for logging in, but on some days you may earn a bonus of 10 points or more, or a prize such as a SparkPeople t-shirt!

OOOO Fresh pineapple is SOOOOOOO yummy!! OMG I love cutting it up and then sucking the juices out of the parts that you're supposed to throw away :p heh
Canned pineapple has nothing on fresh!!

And I'm gonna have to look more closely at that sparkpeople site! I didn't know they offered all of that! heh

I like the fact that I am not the only person that craves sweets daily. Whew! I am glad to see you are now craving healthy foods. Not there yet I through my whole life off trying to do lowcarb. Well back to real eating now.

I got my exercise in yesterday but my shins are still bothing me so I'm going to start using my exercise bike instead for a while, although it takes up so much space. Oh well...better than me taking up more space! :p

SparkPeople is so worth looking into - you won't be disappointed - hopefully, unless I talked it up too much already :D

Canned pineapple has nothing on fresh!!

Canned pineapple doesn't even taste like pineapple! lol I guess that goes for just about anything canned. I find that anytime any food isn't fresh, it has to have a bunch of other things added to compensate for it's lack of freshness! :) The only problem with fresh is the time factor and sometimes cost though. I've heard frozen is actually just as good as fresh since it's picked at the prime time for nutrients...but I'm not sure if I believe that. Okay sorry for that tangent! ;) :p

What do you mean waiting to get in? I'm confused, But then again I'm always a little confused:D

I still need to go back to sparks when I have more time. I can just sit and work on this Forum all day,Lord knows what will happen to me if I get into another site! I think my kid will disown me:) and who cares what my husband thinks-I'm still mad at him:rolleyes:

Hey kdel...that hubby better be sucking up to you big time! :p I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I thought he was your ex by the way you were talking about him (thus my comments being so harsh!). :eek:

I was just waiting for the start of a new month...when I joined everyone said I'd have to wait till November. There may have been other ongoing ones that I didn't know about. I'm just happy I'm in!


I'm so angry with my body today!!!:mad: I went to weigh in a put on 2 lbs!:confused: :eek: I've been eating from 1000-1400 calories a day with exercise and lots of water & vitamins. I feel very discouraged today. :(

I ate two mini candy bars yesterday. Plus I was so busy that I ate what my husband ate...pizza (1 slice) and rice/clamchowder chunky soup! :eek: Not what I should be eating! I might see it on the scale in later...

The good news is that I lost more weight. I moved the scale all around the bathroom, turning it this way and that...and it shows a 3-4 pound loss! :D I'm very happy! :D :D :D I'm just going to record it as 3 pounds to be on the safe side.

Great job on the weight loss!:) Halloween is hard to handle let alone a busy work day! So I can under stand. Have a wonderful day and try to drink lots of water to make up for the salt. GO Sister!:D

Thanks you two! I have been working way too hard at work & I've sort of forgotten to do what is healthy! :( I'm very stressed out and this is my biggest weight challenge. I get busy and just eat whatever my husband has cooked. :eek: I'm not really drinking the water that I was either nor doing much exercise. I'm sorry to report that I suck lately!!! I will have to check everyone's journal to get some encouragement!
