Paige's Journal

Oh good to know you guys think it's okay too! :) I never eat those syrupy fruit things...yuck! I also hate those diets kezzypear...I was on Atkins so I know all about that!

I think I've found my hybrid new lifestyle! Unlike the French plans I want to eat more small snack type meals. Mostly fresh & common sense good things. I am not going to stay away from "sinful" yummy things. I've noticed I'm already getting used to smaller portions...and liking not being totally full after each meal!

I'm eating a variety of strong cheeses in small potions (with bread)...they don't make me want more and leave me with a satisfied feeling. I think I could safely and contently eat this way for life! I'm pretty excited...and I may have already lost some weight!

Today 5" of whole wheat french bread, pear, 1/2 ounce of goat cheese & blue cheese, 2 coffees with 1 tbsp milk & sugar (oops), 1 oz turkey, salad with feta, herbs & balsamic dressing.

1 hour walk with dog

It hasn't been a week yet but I needed some motivation so I jumped on the scale and found I lost 4 pounds. Not bad considering thanksgiving I guess but I wish it were more. It's a start. I haven't indulged too much but I've been short on disciple these last few days. I've been busy and stressed...my two worst weight loss obstacles.

I'm feeling super fat today...I put on all my weight in the waist and tummy which is supposed to be the worst kind. My legs and arms aren't that fat but
my tummy is a sorry sight! All I have to do is look at my new lovely stretchmarks and I'm motivated!

OMG I can soo relate. I used to have the cutes shape (now the only evidence of it is in my 12 yo daughter!! she is soo stacked!!)

My midsection is out of control especially since I had my last baby who is now 19months old. I always say if I lost my middle I would be like 3 sizes smaller. Don't worry though if we keep on track I know we will see results!!

Are you following a French sort of plan by the way?!

Yes and No.. I'm following the concepts behind the plan.. where you don't deprive yourself and watch portion control etc etc... but the actual food suggestions - i passed on... especially the leek soup.. :D

Way to go on losing the 4 lbs - that's an awesome start!!

4lbs? WOOT!
Dont ever get into that mindset of "ONLY soandso lb loss"
4lbs is HUGE. 3, 2, 1lb would all be awesome as well!! :D

If you're wanting to lose weight and get healthier, it's not going to happen over night ya know? Slow and steady is going to get you to that goal of yours :)
I know you can do it!! :D

Thank you Amunet & Pequin! I agree Amunet I have to have patience..slow and steady, slow and steady! I think it's best that way anyways because it gives the skin time to rebound...not so much loose flappy stuff at the end hopefully!

Mal, I really like the idea of not depriving...maybe a bit too much. I sort of fell off it for a few days (the nachos did me in! And they didn't even taste that good). I can't wait till I get back to the concept of smaller portions...such an effort at first and then the stomach shrinks again and it's not that bad! I'm not even going to weigh myself until a week later!

"I always say if I lost my middle I would be like 3 sizes smaller."

Me too Speedy!!! :) You are doing so well!

I think i may have a solution for the thanksgiving thing-this also goes for christmas or dinner with your friends or even just when you want to eat out. figure out how many calories you can spare for the huge meal that you are going to have (as in figure out how much you can go without for a majority of the day) then basically save youself for dinner-don't make the typical mistake of not eating until that meal-because i don't know about you, but if i hit all that food on a starving stomach-i tend to eat it ALL! then before stepping to the table, or into the restaurant...figure out what you want to eat and how much of it is allowable under your daily calorie consumption. this can be accomplished online with a calorie counter-or that restaurant's nutritional info guide. anyways, with that in mind-pre planning these problem days will gaurantee that you won't brush it off and eat more than you know!

-lot's of luck to you!

Boy have I been here!! I have told myself well as long as I only do this every now and again then next thing I know its like every day then the stuff I eat isn't even tasty! I tell you the things you get suckered into!!

GOOOOOO Sister! Today Is going to be a GREAT DAY!:D
Your Dog must love you for the long walks now:p LOL
Remember-WATER, WATER, WATER

Hey fsaiidni! That is a fantastic idea! I'm going to try that next for Christmas...Most recipes we cook are from allrecipes so I think there is a breakdown on calories on there. That would work for restaurants too. Good luck to you too...I'll be looking for your diary!

Yes Speedy - it always happens to me! I just lose track and get lazy with it. I think I'm going to allow myself anything but only in small portions so hopefully this won't happen again. I've started again today.

Thanks kdel. I have a thing against water...I'm not sure why! I just can't seem to drink it straight! I'm not sure if this is the same but I started drinking club soda and a tiny bit of orange juice instead...I'm not sure if that is healthy! My dog is loving these long walks! :)

Today - coffee (1 tsp milk & sugar), 1 apple with 1/2 oz cheese melted over (this is my new fav!), 2 slices french bread w/ 1/2 oz. blue cheese, salad, carrots, 2 squares dark chocolate (must have at this time of month!), club soda with a little Orange Juice.

I feel sick today...maybe too much cheese and fat. I've decided I don't like french bread - not that filling or healthy!

1 hour walk with the dog.

I read that green tea is good to drink(Iced or Hot)I read but have not tried it yet, so I don't know.I just wanted you to know so you can make the choice:) You did not eat that much yesterday, Did you say that you were taking vitamins?(I cant remember)
Today will be great!
Good job with the walking too!You go a long way(stay warm):p

I got some more water in today (5 tall glasses) and it does help! I think I'm finally back on track!

Today: baked apple with 1 oz cheddar cheese, 2 eggs with 1/2 oz feta, salad with balsamic vinegar & feta 1/2 oz, 2 slices of french bread w balsamic vinegar. Can you tell that I love cheese!

Husband took the dog out today...I was feeling lazy! :(

Good job on the water! I know some times it's hard to drink so much of it.
I have never tried apple with cheese-just baked apple with a lot of butter and brown sugar melted on top.(great,Now I will be thinking of that all day)LOL:D You are a cheese lover,I don't even have cheese in my fridge:(
Have a great Day! Go sister!!!:D

Boy that is alot of cheese. If I ate that much I would be crying or my hubby would be as I am very lactose intolerant! What's that smell?:D

Oh Speedy - I wish I were lactose intolerant! LOL Hmm maybe I am! The only smells I've noticed lately are from the dog though! :p Those are the worst! Worse than hubby's by far! :D

kdel - the apple and a little sharp cheddar cheese is sooo good! mmm

Today coffee x 2, Breakfast sandwich - egg, 1/2 oz cheese on sprout/grain bread, all bran bar, can veg. soup, 1 slice french bread dipped in herbed balsamic vinegar, 1 oz. cheese (few kinds totalling about 1 oz), 1/2 yogurt. Water x 4 tall glasses.

Tried to get more fiber in (for obvious reasons!)
My tummy hurts again today...so I had yogurt....maybe I am slightly lactose intolerant!

Sounds yummy. You did great today!GO SISTER!
Did you walk today?I hope you feel better soon:)

I did walk 1 hour or so again...it's easy when it's not too cold!

BUT...I cheated again!!! I don't know what's wrong with me! Every time something goes wrong in my life I eat! This time it was mini doughnuts! I hate doughnuts...and they tasted like puke too! Sorry for that...but really I'm serious...they really tasted bitterly bad! I do it because of habit...

cuddle up with some doughnuts!

Thanks for hearing me out! I'm mad at myselF!
