Pacoltmaki's Weight Loss Diary

Breakfast: missed, was busy out of the house till noon, so brunch was a big salad (salad leaves, tomato, tuna, feta cheese, maasdam cubes, olives and balsamic vinegar with 2 slices of gluten free cornbread)
Snack: handful of pistachios and clementines
Dinner: pumpkin soup (or rather pumpkin puree) with roasted pumpkin seeds

Drinking tea now, instead of wine. Water intake very low throughout the day.

Was running around the whole day, no energy for a proper run.

My mint plant is growing too quickly so I had to trim it yesterday: been having lots of fresh mint tea since :D Not drinking enough makes me feel terrible so I hope you can fill up properly (without having to get up too often at night...).

Mint tea!! I love it! Good that you remind me, I'm going to get a small plant at the grocery store tomorrow, what a good idea, thanks! :)

My favourite tea is peppermint. I love herbal tea & drink it every day. Keep those fluids up, Pac :)

is that your pup? so cute! as you can tell by my pic, I've got a fur friend too!
Yess! She is Sissi, my crazy little spitz. :) your pup looks so cute!
I saw that you are back after some time and trying to cut down sugar intake? How is it going?

Pac! I love the name :)
I had an orange ginger tea before bed, and no wine, yaaaay!
I'm trying to add green tea as well, bought one with jasmine but don't like the taste.
Do you drink green tea?

So, Sissi woke me up at 5:40, was out for a walk by 5:55, pitch dark in the woods, the moon looked amazing. Didn't have wine yesterday, had orange and ginger tea instead, I'm proud of myself.
I promised myself not to weigh in, but did anyway and it's even higher again. 76.4. My target for next Monday was 75,there is no way I can reach that. I've really been positive about the whole change of my eating habits and this number on the scales had me return to the eternal despair of a person trying to lose weight in vain. I certainly could do better, I could calculate calories, protein, carbs, I know I can't, I tried so many times, with apps, taking photos, whatever.
I know everyone has their downs in their joirney, today is mine.
No plans for today, execpt for drinking more water/tea. I don't even want to eat anything now, I feel like whatever I eat will turn to more fat.
Sorry about the rant, it's just one of those days.

Ignore that reading. My weight fluctuates like crazy & weighing often does my head in. Stay off the scales for a week, Pac & keep doing what you’re doing. Get more sleep if you can xo

You are so right! And scales are addictive. Some years ago I couldn't stop checking my weight every single time I got near the scales and eventually had to literally take it and throw it to the bin, I couldn't stop any other way. I will stay away from it for a few weeks. Thank you! I was so much happier with my progress BS (before scales). :D

Stupid scales. BS indeed! About green tea: make sure not to make it with boiling water or it'll go bitter. I forgot what the official temp is but I seem to remember something like 85 C.

Oooh, I had no idea about not boiling water, it was ALWAYS bitter..... Now I know why :D I'll give it a try today, thanks for the tip!

Yesterday no wine! 2nd day. Had a tea instead. I decided to do with wine drinking the same as with the diet, I'm not setting time limits, time periods, just go one day at a time. I had enough of setting a goal of sg for a week/month/3months and then feel like a complete failure for not being able to keep it. 1 day is always possible.

I also did not weigh in. I just looked at the scales angrily, hope she/he gets it and will be gentler next time.

This week I've only had 2 runs, and 1 big walk, so today I'm going to go for a run again and tomorrow we'll see. Strength workout did not happen, I don't know why I can't, I just can't at the moment. Blaming the equipment, the lack of space, the bird in the window...

I might have to get deeper in the calorie counting, I don't know. But I seem stuck here with the weight.

Plans for today: although I still don't eat any of the bad carbs or sugar, I restarted the opening the fridge from time to time and eating a clementine, a carrot, a slice of cheese.. I did not snack after 6.30pm though. So less cheese, less opening of the fridge and more herbal tea.

Knowing yourself and what will motivate or frustrate you is a great thing. Sorry to hear your weight seems to be stuck but it looks like you're working your way in the right direction regardless. I agree that if the number doesn't come unstuck counting every last calorie for a week or so might help you figure out what's getting in the way.

Don't berate yourself for the exercise you are not doing & just keep on eating well. Well done on day 2 without wine :)

Nice work on skipping the wine and opting for tea! I need to get back to teas as well!
Thanks! And 1 more day without wine, 3rd in a row! It helps that I'm freezing after the last, evening walk with my dog and a hot tea seems a better option.
Last night I had an earl grey (there's a fair trade shop and they have the best earl grey I've ever tasted), kept me awake longer than I was planning to :D

I tried counting calories with apps before but always got frustrated by the amount of choices when typing e.g. milk. The abundance of choices is something that usually blocks me.
However I decided to give it another try next week and to see where the problem lies. Thank you so much for the encouraging words!

I seem to remember there are apps that let you scan the barcode and then just add in the amount you´re using. No personal experience with that though.
