I rock! No really, I do! Last night I did, get this, 40 minutes on the elliptical! Not impressed? Well, you would be if you knew that two weeks ago I couldn't even do 15 minutes. The elliptical is hard! So, 40 minutes, burned about 440 calories, very pleased with meself if I must say. I was sweaty in places that usually don't sweat...usually. Then I did some strength training stuff.
Oh, heres a question: When you lift weights, do you do reps or do you lift to failure? I was in the weight room last night and this balding, 40-something guy who is reminiscent of a younger George Carlin told me I was "doing it wrong" by doing reps and that I should be lifting until I can't do it anymore, with weights as heavy as I can possible lift. He said this, as he was doing something that resembled a bicep curl, standing directly over me (I was sitting down) with a big brown leather weight belt on over his tank top and unflattering bright blue spandex shorts that accentuated his barely there neather regions, it was hard to take him seriously. I told him, I'm not trying to hurt myself. Then he told me that I should just give up because the point is to "feel it". Ya, I wanted to smack the ugly right off him, since I was looking at my strength training plan, on paper, and it said to do 10-15 reps, two to three times.
At any rate, today, I don't feel sore, but I feel good, energized and ready to do some more cardio tonight. The only problem with doing the cardio at night is that its hard to fall asleep, even several hours after working out I still have a lot of something circulating in my system that makes me want to stay up and paint, or re-organize the linen closet. What is that?
So, its Friday, the dreaded weekend is upon us. I know a lot of people experience anxiety over weekends because they tend to eat badly and get off their diets, mostly due to the lack of the weekday routine. Luckly I'm starting training for a 13 mile run/bike/walk type race. I'll be walking it with my sister and some co workers who have never participated in the event before. Its been re-named this year in memorial of one of our good friends that passed away recently and that is why we are all going to paticipate. So, I have that to suck up some of my time on the weekends, and I have 7500 square feet of yard to mow, trim, rake and water. Plus flower beds to manicure.
And a date with Mr. Hottyhothot on Saturday night...sushi, so not worrying about eating anything bad. If everything goes as planned, I'll be getting laid, fourth dates a charm. I've lead the boy on long enough and I don't want to be taken for a prude. I heart Penis!
I have to go grocery shopping this weekend. That is a dreaded event in my book. I avoid the store. But, my refrigerator is nothing but condiments and stale tortillas and my cupboards only contain stuff that I'll be donating to the food bank (why did I think I needed canned pickled beats?). Can't wait to get fresh veggies in the fridge. Last night for dinner I ate broccoli...a whole bag of frozen broccoli because my other option...stale tortillas and pickled beats...ya...broccoli was good.
