It's still sort of plain, but we'll get it filled up fast with 4 videos a week!
I put a post in the blog about me cooking tonight too, and even linked this site :)

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all of the support and ideas. We definitely can use them. I must say that while the dinner last night was good and only 400 calories, I was left incredibly hungry still. I decided that I would have a TV dinner, it was a stuffed pepper casserole. I also had an ice cream sandwich that I know I shouldn't have had, but I did really good with my eating all day long so I thought this would be a once a month treat for myself. I know that on The Biggest Loser, Jillian was telling Tara that you have to have a balance with your food. You have to allow yourself to have a treat every once in a while or you'll get burnt out and then binge. So far today I've had a bowl of Special K 3/4 cup with 1/2 cup of skim milk. Then I went and did some football drills with my husband. It was really hard. I hated doing the jumping jacks cause since I've had kids I have a lot of flab at the bottom of my tummy. It was really embarrassing when it slapped me from going back down during jumping jacks. I got like 3 up/down's done and it was so much more difficult than it should've been because the ground was soaked from the rain overnight. I came home and made my kids and husband lunch-grilled cheese. I really wanted one bad but didn't give in. I did however have a quarter piece of crust that my daughter didn't eat. I'm about to go have a salad and an orange and then I will be doing a workout on the Wii. My mom got a game called Cardio Workout a couple of weeks ago. It really focuses on Shape Boxing and really gets me sweating. Then I'll do some Wii Fit and then some push ups(girly ones) and sit ups/crunches. After dinner I plan on going to the nearby lake with Mandi and my mom to walk around the lake. One lap around the lake is .95 miles. So usually we've been doing 2 laps around but I think I'm going to take it up a notch and do 3 or 4 laps today. I'm not really sure if Mandi is going to go though cause she is really sick today. Like normally her sleep schedule consists of going to bed anywhere from 5-7am and sleeping until about 2-4pm. It kind of works for her because starting Tuesday she will start her first job working overnights. Well, last night she went to bed before midnight and is still sleeping at 2:30 pm and taking NyQuil. Anywho, I'm gonna go eat my salad now. BTW, I'm also doing a 7 day detox that I started yesterday. I'm already feeling better and it requires me to drink a crap ton of water. Like yesterday I drank about 135 oz. of water. Please, if your have any tips, please let me know.

Hey girlies,
so do you guys have a plan? I mean eating, work-out plan? one that is sustainable over weeks and the eating especially sustainable "for life".
I do not know the biggest loser, never watched it, so I do not know how it works, from what I have gathered they work out all day, get their meals served already prepared and lose ridiculous amounts of weight, right? That is obviously a part that will have to be different for you girls, since you won't be able to leave husbands, children, work etc...
Losing weight and changing your lifestyle to be a more active, slimmer and healthier person is a lot about education. Understand what you want and need to eat when. I think what you said Lynn is very true, you shouldn't deprive yourself of anything. BUT you have to play your calorie-chips wisely! For example I am pretty aware of what I eat and where my cal count is, at all times. It is not an effort anymore, it just sort of happens inside. So I know if I want an icecream, I need to curb some other calories, like instead of steak and salad, have a bigger salad, no steak and an icecream.

Do you girls have a plan like that? There are websites where you can put in what you ate and it gives you the amount of cals you consumed. Educate yourselves what hyou should eat and what you shouldn't (it's pretty straight forward and not exactly brainscience, but still, knowing for sure is better). Same for exercise!

For me, I changed everything from when I eat to what I eat. Plus I started exercising. I have not been super extreme with the exercise, I exercised maybe 2 or 3 times a week on and off.
Do you guys have an exercise schedule? Certain exercise you want to do, won't ever do, where will you exercise at home or in a gym?

Well, I will stop bugging you with my questions,
have a great weekend, Camy

I have a plan, I figured out the exercise, meal planning and all. I even figured it out for Lynn and Mandi as well, but they are both struggling with their eating habits. I think I have a leg up on them because I'm diabetic and have been watching my foods for 4 months now. It was hard at first, but watching what I eat is much easier now. I still have to watch my portions though, that's my problem.

Yep, exactly. Lynn was the one that started watching it and got me and Mandi into watching it toward the end of the show. I did the math last night and literally those people had to around 8750 calories per day to lose that type of weight.. CRAZY!
I work out for an hour and feel like I'm going to die, can you imagine what they went through.. omg.

Lynn and I have been working out a lot. Mandi has been slack in that, but she also woke up sick yesterday, so it's understandable.
Because I'm already watching my diet real close the 'not cheating' part is easier for me than Lynn and Mandi... Lynn's trying though. Mandi on the other hand ate cheez-it's again for breakfast (sigh) lol

Need Ideas!!!!

I was thinking, we should have weekly prizes too, so that we are motivated throughout each week.

I think we should base the weekly prize off of what people decide based on votes in the blog at the site. I just have to get an idea of what the weekly prize should be.. ideas?

So….I got all of my workout done with the exception of my push ups and sit ups. I’ll be doing that before bedtime. I just got back from doing only two laps at the lake. I met Mandi there because my favorite show ended tonight and I had to watch the series finale of Prison Break. Dumb ending but I’m happy they got exonerated first. Well Mandi had already done 4-5 laps around the lake before I got there and then I did one without her and one with her. So, I guess with all the laying around she’s done for the last 2 days this will help her make up for not working out. I was kind of bummed out when Mandi said she was going to go to the lake without me because I thought surely she’d be done before I got there. And then Annette went out with her husband and said she’d not be walking with me. Turns out, after we had our healthy dinner of about 450 calories, she went to a fattening italian resturant and ate again. The reason I’m putting this on here is so that everyone can hold her accountable. She tried to tell me that “well, at least I didn’t eat an ice cream sandwich and a twix yesterday” but I just responded with “whatever helps you sleep at night.” I don’t want to give her too hard of a time, but at the time I was on the phone with her she had just got her food and I wanted to help her make smart choices. She did tell me that she got something off the “diet” section of the menu. Anywho, I didn’t do any cheating today as far as my diet, althought I wanted to REALLY REALLY BAD when I went to the store for my husband and saw candy bars on sale. Let me just tell you, it is so hard not to cheat in this town when you have about 15 fast food options within 2 miles. I did get some Vitamin Water so that I could change up from regular water. Keep in mind for the last 48 hours all I’ve drank is tap water and a whole lot of it. About 135 ozs yesterday and about 150 today so far. I was planning on going back out and doing 2 more laps around the lake but I think I’m just going to do some more shape boxing on the Wii. Oh yeah, I’m not sure if I mentioned it earlier or not but I also did the 20 minute workout on Turbo Jam. A little over a year ago I was doing it 6 times a week and lost about 35 lbs in about 3 months so I’ve added that back into my routine.

sounds like to me you are the only one taking this seriously and are pushing the others into it. Keep up the good work though

No, she's not the only one taking it seriously.
Let me explain what happened last night.
I did really good all day yesterday, then my husband wanted to go out. I said lets go bowling (cause it at least burns calories ya know), he said well I need to eat first, so I was thinking something fast for him on the way to the bowling alley. My husband is UBER skinny... underweight, so he can get away with stuff like that. Then he INSISTED on going to Rocky's Italian Grill... I literally argued with him about this, but he kept insisting. I got there and said I was only having water. I even told everyone I met there (the hostess and the waiter) that I was in this challenge to hold MYSELF accountable. The waiter then got out the "diet" menu and I ordered the smallest, lowest calorie thing on it. Believe me, the guilt that Lynn gave me was nothing to the guilt I felt for myself for cheating.
What Lynn didn't tell you is that day before yesterday she cheated and had a twix and an ice cream sandwich. Also that I'm the one that got the meal plans together and has been cooking them.
Is she the only one taking this competition seriously?? No. I am too, so is Mandy (who's been super sick). Mandi actually went walking by herself yesterday without us.
More good news though, we now have another person joining us in our competition (late). His name is... well... he wants to go by "dizzle". His starting weight 306.4.

Annette

So, today I am super sore. Like I don't even want to move. But, I know that if I work out some more today I will keep losing. Dizzle is my husband and was much more thin when we got married 7 1/2 years ago. I think what happened to both of us is we got happy being together and I'm not much of a cook so we gained together going out to eat. He helped train me yesterday doing football drills. In high school he was in football and still remembers the hell week exercises. It's really hard and I'm having a difficult time doing all of it but at least I'm trying.
Apparently, Annette didn't read my blog last night very well because I did put in there that I cheated. The key is even though I cheated, I only had one stick of twix which was only 120 calories and then the ice cream sandwich I already talked about in my first blog.
So, Dizzle and I are going to go to the high school football field so that we can do some more drills today. He's pretty excited because he thinks that he will win. I really want to win because with all of the money that will be put into the pot each week, that will be a nice amount of money to be able to buy skinny clothes once I've lost all the weight.
Last night I passed out before I got a chance to do any more exercise. I was here posting my blogs and falling asleep in the process. I don't remember even getting from the computer to my bed. Right now I'm just waiting for my work out pants to dry in the dryer so I don't get chaffed on my legs like yesterday. Yeah, yesterday was laundry day so I wore a pair of Dizzle's shorts and they're too long on me so my upper thighs are a little tender today.
I feel like I've lost weight already but I guess I'll just have to wait and see on Thursday if I have or not. Mom(Annette) says she can already see the weight coming off in my middle. I hope she's right. This morning I had 3/4 cup of Special K Blueberry and 1/2 cup of skim milk. I've already got a head start on the water and have drank about 30 ozs. Mom said that she's taking over the TV today so that I do not get a chance to work out. Little does she know that while she's working out doing whatever she's doing, I'll be right behind her doing the same thing...hehe:coolgleamA:
Anyways folks, my pants are dry so I'm headed to the high school for football drills. I'm taking a gallon of water and a towel with me. Peace out! :waving:

Update

I did my confessional today on video. I've been working out non stop except to do the video, post it, and come here a couple times.
Update from the video- I DID eat a small bit of cereal.
I also updated the site and blog while waiting on the video to upload.
Ok, I'm off to work out more.
Annette

Done

I have worked out more today than I ever have in my life. I'm sore, I hurt, & I'm tired. owwww. :(
I bet I will sleep good tonight.
Annette

Should I?

I'm sitting here awake, sore and bummed. I pulled a 'no no' and weighed myself just a bit ago and see that I've GAINED .9. Lynn and Dizzle have also weighed themselves tonight (which is what gave me the idea to check mine), both of them have lost weight.. lots of it- 3+ lbs.
I'm eating good (with the exception of cheating last night), and I've only cheated once where Mandi and Lynn have cheated more than me, and I exercised today like a maniac.. why am I gaining?
Dizzle says it's because I'm older and my thyroid is messed up which puts me at a disadvantage to them.
I am thinking of joining the Y tomorrow and working out literally 8 hours straight of high intensity stuff to keep up with their weight loss. Lynn isn't happy that I even suggested joining the Y. I don't know what to do. ~sigh~

I dunno Annette.

Here's my suggestion. You simply need to count your calories and exercise (Cardio) at least 30 minutes a day. You've said you figured out how many calories you need, how many are they? Just a guess, I'd say you'd need like 2000 calories a day. But don't take my word for it, try googling it, and see how much you need.

And IMO, there's no such thing as "cheating". This shouldn't be a diet, but a lifestyle change. You should be able to eat out, get whatever is on the low calorie menu like you did, and just add those calories to your daily calorie. Then it won't be "cheating". If you start saying you're cheating here and there, then to me its too much work, and it feels you're depriving yourself of something. It's an easy way to get frustrated and quit.

About the exercise. 8 hours????? I'm not saying you can't do it, but how long are you able to keep that up before you're exhausted and too tired and you're ready to quit??? In my opinion, it's a little over the top to see that you've gained a little weight, then all of a sudden you're gonna go exercise for 8 hours. I'd say you should get 30 minutes to an hour of exercise at least 3-6 days a week.

And count your calories. And you should be able to get to your goal like that.

I understand what you're saying and that's how I've been since I found out that I had diabetes (4 months ago), but because we're in a competition it changes things a lot. Yea it's over the top normally, but at the same time, Lynn and Dizzle are just going, going, going and losing weight, I weighed myself again this morning and I've lost a pound.. I guess I shouldn't weigh myself at night because it's off or something. They also weighed and Lynn has lost 3lbs and dizzle 4 (just after 1 stupid day for him!).
I guess it's just a bummer to see them losing like this and me only losing a little bit.. how am I going to win this competition unless I work out more ya know?
Annette

They are also younger than you. It's no secret that younger people can lose weight much faster.

I agree about weighing yourself at night, don't do it! Weigh yourself in the morning after you go to the bathroom. That's what I do.

And also, it seems like you're just losing weight for the competition... it's much more important that you keep yourself healthy and you don't overexert yourself, than to win a competition. Especially since you have so many health problems. IMO, you should take it really easy. The competition is awesome and its a great motivator, but it makes me question whether you would be doing this if you weren't in the competition.

The competitors of the Biggest Loser worked out A LOT, but had experts with them 24/7. They had complete physicals done and were monitored all the time. I'm just a little concerned that it's gonna be too much for you to work out for 8 hours, that's all.

Four months ago I found out that I am diabetic, at that time I started changing everything, from my eating habits, to working out. Before this competition, I'd already lost 20lbs- so am I doing this just for the competition? No. The difference is that I was only getting weighed at the dr's office, and I'm trying harder now because of the competition. If the competition were over tomorrow, I would still continue with my diet plan and exercise, just not as intense.
As far as my health goes, I've cleared this with my doctor who's thrilled that I'm doing this. I go to my dr all the time and she's constantly checking on my heart, bp, sugars etc- Everything is cool with this as I'm actually doing this smart by clearing everything with my dr. As a matter of fact, I'm calling her tomorrow to get the amount of hours I can exercise in a day so I don't overdo it, because she yells if you do something wrong, and I don't like getting yelled at lol.
One more thing, ALL of us signed up for the Y today, so that it's fair... and my dr, she also goes to the same Y so I know I'll see her there.
It's funny, I have you saying I'm being too serious about this competition and "wishes" saying I'm not taking it seriously lol.... no grey, only black and white haha.

Today was a good day for me food-wise. I started off the morning with Special K Chocolaty Delight 3/4 cup and 1/2 cup skim milk. I went off and did the football drills again with Dizzle. Today since the ground wasn't as wet, we were able to do the whole routine. I've been sore for yesterday and today but I think tomorrow may be worse. I think the whole thing took about 50 minutes to an hour. I came home and had a salad with ranch dressing. Two cups of lettuce and 2 tbsp of dressing with 1/4 cucumber and 1/4 tomato.
I signed up for a new website today that I'm sure will help with my motivation. This will be the last site I join though because I don't want to be spending too much time in front of the computer, but would rather be working out. The site is Sparkpeople.com and has different little groups you can join and set goals, meal plans, workouts that you can do at home, etc. It's really good and your "profile" is set up kind of like a myspace.
After I got all of that set up we left to get mom(Annette) some workout shoes and join the YMCA. While we were out we decided that since we'd be home later than we'd like to cook and eat, we'd stop for Qdoba. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's kinda like a mexican food Subway. All of the food is fresh and low calorie. I had half a mexican gumbo bowl and a soft shell taco and all of it came to only 595 calories. I'm quite proud of myself today because I only totaled 932 calories and got satisfied rather than stuffed.
Mom is calling me from the other room so I need to go see what she wants, and then after that I'll be doing the 20 minute workout on Turbo Jam and then my workout on the Wii. :leaving:
