One last time...

Am getting shinsplints. I think I'm going to have to fork out some cash for some new shoes :(

When I used to run a lot my trainer said to never use the shoes you use for jogging for other workouts...it wears them out much faster. Well I have been using the same shoes for all my workouts and they were pretty old as it is...

I totally get about anxiety eating, and good for you for not doing it!

I also loved your breakfast. I've been making them in the morning for the past couple days now, but I add a slice of turkey on it. :)

Anyway, keep up the good work! And since you're getting shin splints, make sure to ice your legs after a workout.

I couldn't figure out which post of yours to quote because I could relate to so many of them. Sorry if this post gets long!

A) Your food choices sounds delicious! A wrap with sauteed chicken and peppers? Yum! I am going to need to try to be more involved with my food. I am pretty lazy now, haha.

B) My boyfriend is the same way... super supportive and gets me to go to the gym when I don't want to. But I also get cranky and take it out on him when I REALLY don't want to go and he's trying to make me. And then I feel awful after, because he is only doing exactly what I asked him to do. If you get the same way, try to remember he's only looking out for you!

C) "Just feeling bummed out today. bummed i cant eat the way i used to." OH MY GOSH do I relate to this :( I think I did super well for a month and then suddenly I had the exact same thought. Let's not eat the way we really want to together! In the end we'll be happy we did.

D) "Just random anxiety about nothing significant really." I can ALSO really relate to this, I go through that a lot. Can't say I've figured out how to avoid food during these times though, so good for you for not resorting to that! This is when I am happy I don't keep junk in the apartment anymore, because I feel better when I'm eating light string cheese and light ice cream instead of Ben & Jerry's and potato chips.

E) About your running - DEFINITELY get some new running shoes! I say depending on how much you can afford, the best best is to go to a running store where they'll watch you walk and pick out a good pair for you, then watch you jog in them after. I just did that recently and it made a world of difference! Do you have a time requirement for the 7K you need to be able to complete it? I bet you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll progress. Set yourself up on a schedule of how much distance you will increase each week and all of a sudden you'll be running farther than you ever thought you could!

Great idea about the icing! I think a bag of peas is my new best friend!

And YUM!! I will DEF have to try turkey on that...delish!!

Omg! I'm so glad I'm not alone! And you're right...I get SO irritated at my bf when I need a push to work but after I always thank him! Lol

And part of me doesn't ever want to eat all that junk ever again, but it's SUCH a comfort! I need to find something to replace that. So far I've done well fighting it, just haven't been happy about it. Lol

I don't know if you have a Running ROom near you but i've gotten my last couple pairs from there. They are expensive but you're right, I forgot how much of a diffrence they make! There is no time requirement for the 7K, I need to be able to run 7K to join a half marathon training group that starts at the end of Jan. I dunno, starting to think I've bitten off more than I can chew.

Thanks for your comments, glad to know I'm not alone :)

So it's now Monday, and I haven't worked out since Wednesday. That not good.

On a positive note I stuck to my calories for all days except Sunday....which was Halloween and I had a bit of candy. I stuck to under 2000 cals which is ok. I didn't totally go crazy.

I weighed myself and am now 187, 13 pounds down. Still bummed out about my inability to push myself when I run on my own.

Feeling pretty blah the past few days, really down in the dumps. Just wanting to stay in bed. Tonight is boot camp so I hope that elevates my mood a bit.

Breakfast
PlainOatmeal

Snack
Fat free rasberry yogurt

Lunch
Grilled peppers and zuccini with chicken brst on a whole wheat wrap.

Snack
Low fat granola bar with tbsp peanut butter
Plain low fat yogurt with honey

Dinner
Chicken noodle soup
Skinny cow

Workout = bootcamp

God Halloween almost killed me... lol. I had candy and a second serving at dinner... whoops... not good. lol.

I'm sorry you have the blahs... I get them sometimes, and it takes a bit of work to get me out of the funk. But I know you'll be fine. :)

Have fun at bootcamp tonight. :)

Wed Nov 3

Did boot camp tonight so got a good workout. Someone noticed that I've lost some weight today. Was an old coworker I hadn't seen in a few months. It really brightened my day.

Want to weigh in again but trying to wait until Monday. Would LOVE to see anything under 185! We'll see. Have skipped the gym a bit lately...not good. Trying to get myself out of this funk. Started taking multi-vitamins today, been meaning to do that for a while. Would like to start taking daily.

Breakfast
Oatmeal

Snack
Plain low fat Yogurt
Tbsp organic Honey

Lunch
1/2 cup chicken and rice soup
Bagel with turkey, lettuce, tomato

Snack
Granola bar
Tbsp Peanut butter

Dinner
2 skinless chicken legs
Peas

All food came to just under 1600 calories.

And as usual loads of water and several cups of herbal tea. Right now I'm liking lemon eccinesea and tropical green tea. I like to switch it up once and a while. It's gotten really chilly here so I've been fighting the urge to drink hot chocolate...

Mm, I love herbal tea! I like ginger and the peppermint ones!

Did you know WW do hot choc? Only 50 calories I think and they are *so* delicious.

Sunflower!! They have 50 calorie hot chocolate?!?! Oh I am totally looking for this at the grocery store asap! Thanks for letting me know!

Thurs Nov 4

Did another bootcamp session tonight. Was good. Keeping up a lot better. Next Monday is the halfway point weigh in and measurements. We'll see, not getting my hopes too high, it's only been 1 month.

Cracked and got on the scale this morning. I'm up a pound to 188. Bummed me out but I've skipped a few workouts this week despite sticking to my calories...so I guess it's where it should be. I can't seem to lose weight anymore based on eating alone. The scale just doesn't move much unless I work out.

Breakfast
2 small tortillas with egg white, low fat cheese, peppers and a piece of turkey bacon

Snack
Plain low fat yogurt
Tbsp Organic honey
3 cups herbal tea

Lunch
Turkey and potato Smart Ones entree (really slacking in making my lunch lately)

Snack
Granola bar
Tbsp peanut butter
Herbal tea

Dinner
Beef stir fry (just meat and lots of veg)

Going to try to make it swimming tomorrow and jog on the weekend. That's my goal!

Anyone have any tips for staying motivated? I'm sticking to it, just not enjoying it lately.

I had a snack late last night. I was soooooo hungry after bootcamp. I ended up having 1 slice of whole grain bread with peanut butter and a cup of skim milk. I think it was the right choice to eat even though it was 290 over my limit. I felt much much better afterwards. Then my bf and took our puppy for a 20 minute run in the park so that prob burned some of it off.

I'm feeling back in the groove of things today. Finally!! Lol

I sometimes feel "blah" about being good, but then I keep a journal, where I have a list of my main goals, and all my small ones. I can bitch and moan in the journal and get it all out, and then I look for one of the mini goals and push towards it. Having the reward of reaching one of the goals is a great feeling.

Also, I love feeling good about how much more energy I have now, and how much more confident I am.

Anyway, I see you're doing great! Glad you back in the groove!

Xorie that is a fantastic idea about main goals and smaller goals! I think the journal to vent in is a great idea. I think my bf is sick of hearing it! Lol

I never actually wrote out my ultimate goals. I think I'm going to work on that this wknd. Thank you :)

Fri nov 5

Had a good day today. Did a good run. Did day 1 of week 5 of the 10k app on my iPhone.

Breakfast
Plain Oatmeal
1/4 cup milk

Snack
Fat free yogurt

Lunch
2 small whole grain tortillas with chicken, low fat cheese, peppers and onion

Snack
Granola bar
Tbsp peanut butter

Dinner
Organic veggie pizza with whole wheat thin crust (broccoli, red peppers, spinach, and onion) YUM!

And as usual about 3L of water and several cups of herbal tea.

Feeling good today, not down in the dumps anymore.

Glad you're not down in the dumps anymore! I get unmotivated with healthy eating sometimes, but am sticking with my running routine very well. And then when I think about the fact that I'm running regularly and not losing any weight, it motivates me to eat better. I started with the Couch to 5K app and every now and then I give myself a few minutes to gloat privately (or to the boyfriend) about how far I've come with the running, and it inspires me to keep on trucking. And I agree that you made the right choice with the snack after boot camp! You can't deprive yourself of a healthy snack when your body really needs it.
