WOOT!!! Weighed in today. Lost 5.2 lbs this week! I'm stoked!
That's 14 lbs in 2 weeks! I know I am losing a lot of weight initially because it is the beginning of my journey and I have a lot to lose. But I'll take it!!
WOW! Well done Mystic! A whole stone in 2 weeks is great. Its bound to slow up at some stage, but hey girl, take it while you can!!! Plus, what great motivation to keep on going!
Nothing too exciting to report. Back is feeling a bit better. I was getting a bit shack wacky yesterday just sitting around resting it so I took the dog for a walk just for about 15 mins. Gosh, it hurt... but I just went slow and suffered through it and wouldn't you know it felt a bit better today?? So I took another walk tonight (just got home) with the dog and it didn't hurt quite so bad today so we went for a half hour. I think maybe I had hurt it and now it needs to be strengthened?! Who knows.... just happy to be moving again.
It's my day off today. Nothing too exciting. Took my dog for a walk on a wooded trail for 30 mins. Then walked for probably another 25 mins in the mall. I was wiped when I came home. Bought a new vacuum cleaner and a swiffer wet jet. Tonight I am going to play the tunes loud and get this apartment somewhat clean (I am a terrible housekeeper!). Have to do laundry too. But I am sure I will feel so much better once this place is picked up and cleaned properly. I start afternoons tomorrow.
Back is still sore. Not having the best of times walking on pavement. Took my dog for a walk just now and noticed we were both having a bit of a hard time. Cut the walk short and noticed when we got home that his dew claws are too long and are hurting him. Bad Mummy. So I will have to take him sometime very soon to the vet to get them cut (he will NOT let me cut them - he has to be muzzled and held down). Well, 20 mins is better than nothing. Plus, I am sure baby steps is what my back needs right now.
Eating is going well. Started afternoons yesterday. We are a little short staffed right now so I have to work 8 afternoon shifts in a row and then go into 7 night of midnights without a day off. Um... YUCK. I hate my job sometimes. Afternoons is my least favorite shift. I feel like i have no life when I am on afternoons... they run from 2 pm to 10 pm so not much time to get things accomplished during the day. The only good thing about them is that I find it the easiest shift to lose weight on.
I am in the Valentine's day 100 lb challenge over on the club challenges board. I am really hoping that keeps my motivation up in the coming months.
Sorry the back is still hurting, thats a tough one sometimes to work around. All I can do is suggest that you make sure you are using good supportive walking shoes and take care of yourself...
What kind of dog do you have? I have a couple of little rugrats, Shih Tzus, little mops but I love 'em.
Thanks Cabbie I have a Dachshund... a cute little weiner
Didn't want to go to the gym today. Had the choice of going to the gym, or napping for an hour before having to get ready for work. I ended up going to the gym... 25 mins on the treadmill... heart rate up, worked up a good sweat. 25 mins was all I could talk myself into... I'll give myself a gold star for it tho considering I was going to sleep instead
Work afternoons today and then days tomorrow. I switched shifts with someone to work days tomorrow since it is my grandpa's B-day. We are going to Red Lobster for dinner. I'm sure I can find something there that I won't feel too bad eating. I love Red Lobster so it will be a nice treat for me. Don't want to overeat though since I weigh myself Monday and am in that Valentine's Day 100 lbs challenge and don't want to let down my team.
Hey Mystic,
Glad to hear things are good for you, I'm also sorry about your back. Bad backs are a nightmare... I broke a few bones in my back when I was 17 in a car accident and suffered ever since That's one of my motivations to lose weight to relieve the pain a bit.
Daschunds and SO CUTE!!! I lost the vote when we got our dog, everyone else wanted a dalmatian, so that's what we ended up with (she's lovely though )
Hope you enjoy your dinner out and Grandpa has a lovely birthday
Bah... BAH! Not having the best day. Work was a bit of a pain in the arse. Logistical problems... constant problem solving. But at least my personnel were a good group today - thank goodness.
I worked days today so I can go to my Grandpa's B-day dinner tonight. I was kinda looking forward to dressing up just a little bit to go out thinking that my jeans would be nice and loose. Um, NOPE - they're not. They feel exactly the same way they did 15 lbs ago. Damn! Then I was trying on sweaters and all I could think of when I looked in the mirror is "holy COW". LOL... Bah! I'm ok, really... just a very bad self image day. So I put on my black yoga pants and shirt and I'm going in that. I look better and feel better wearing that so that's what I'm going in. I think I'm bloated. Not that ToM so not sure what's going on. Maybe the 2 L of water I drank today.
So I leave in a little while. Dinner is at Red Lobster tonight and wouldn't you know it's Endless Shrimp time. Oh boy. At least they have a grilled option.
I weigh myself tomorrow and don't feel a loss coming on. Guess I am just a bit frustrated today. Word of the day.... BAH!
Hey!!! Sorry about the bad day! Need a does that help any?
You know the image thing was all in your head right? I mean, you're doing right, its working, you know it is... Don't psych yourself out, take a couple of deep breaths and let them out.
What's your dog's name? I have a 13 year old mutt who is half mini schnauzer, half jack russel terrier. In her younger days she was always bouncing up and down like the whinnie the pooh character Tigger, so of course we had to name her Tigger. Now she's completely deaf and I think her vision is going too. Not to mention she seems a bit senile some days. She'll stare at the floor or wall like it's the MOST facinating thing in the world.
Sorry you're having a 'puffy day" - I have days like that where it just feels like nothing fits right. Usually it's the week before that TOM for me though, or else the day after I eat a lot of salty stuff. Darn water retention!!!
Thanks Cabbie.. the hug helped Yea, I know it's all in my head which I guess is why I didn't lock myself up in my bedroom with a chocolate cake... thank goodness.
Tig - My dog's name is Toby. He's 1.5 years old and just so darn cute. We live on our own and he is such a great companion for me... Tigger sounds adorable... even in her older age
Dinner was ok. The company was great - love getting together and supping with family. We are always the table in the restaurant laughing our butts off at something. Red Lobster had their Endless Shrimp promotion on and we all got it. I ate too much shrimp. BUT I only ate the grilled shrimp. Everyone else was having the garlic butter and breaded ones.. and the shrimp alfredo. And I got broccoli instead of a potato. I passed on the biscuits too. I did have some wild rice but that's alright. The B-Day cake was a HUGE chocolate wonder-beast. I could smell the chocolate from across the table. So instead of having a piece I opted for another skewer of shrimp. It's not that I denied myself the cake, I just really really didn't want to put it in my body.
I weighed myself this morning and I have down 1.6. I was worried that I was going to gain because of the dinner because all week I was hovering at -1 lb so knew that a loss wasn't a given this week.
I forgot to bring my gym clothes with me to work this afternoon. I thought about coming home, changing and heading back out to the gym but my poor dog was so happy to see me I couldn't leave him. So I played tennis on Wii instead. Virtual Tennis 2009 - I bought it used for $10.00 yesterday. There are some solo mini-games on there and I found one that I really like. I played it for about a half hour - got a good sweat worked up. Better than nothing! I'll be lucky if I can move my right arm tomorrow.
I'm so glad there's another Wii player on here! I'm soooo hooked on mine. The Wii sports and Wii Fit Plus are so good! Baseball rocks too
My BIL has been staying in our living room for the past 3 days (nasty divorce on the way) so I haven't been able to play Wii. Think I'm having withdrawls!!!
See? See? I told you to take a breath and it was all in your head, and here you are, down again! Hey, even I have days like that and for god's sake, I'm down over 140 lbs!
Trust me I'm a doctor...
Okay maybe not, but I've been known to play doctor on occasion...
