Had a frustrating time at the gym. I got on the treadmill and did alternate walking and running and ran more times and faster than I had ever done but 3 times I pressed the stop button instead of slowing it down after running so have no idea how long or how much I did as it kept zeroing.
Thank you all so much for posting nice things in my photo thread. I almost didn't post them but got talked into it by my daughter. Can't wait now to be able to put up the goal weight ones.
I know that it was just me being silly with the treadmill but it kept putting me off my stride as it took a minute or two to get it set up each time. I didn't realize that I am so competitive even if it is trying to beat my own record. I want to see every time that I am a step nearer to running a 5k![]()
Competitive is good, I think. It will keep you striving to better yourself. That's great. I think that's something I kind of lack, a competitive nature. lol I've never been competitive with other people, and I doubt I'm very competitive with myself either. I wonder if that might hinder me in my weight loss. Is there a way to make yourself become more of a competitive person?
I don't really know how to make yourself more competitive. I constantly set myself goals which is easy to do with the gym equipment. Even when out walking I would gradually walk a bit further every day and now that I am much fitter I time myself and try and do the same distance in a quicker time. It sometimes helps to write it down and chart the progress as you won't want to ruin the chart by not beating the previous record. There is something very motivating about a chart that goes up and up.![]()
I'm glad to hear that your daughter has a work out buddy! Maybe peer pressure can work to the good for once! lol
Oh I wish I had access to machines that would work my thighs! You lucky girl!I REALLY need that. I'm so worried about saggy thigh flesh once I reach goal.
Have a great weekend, Val!
Had a nice surprise at the gym. I paid 40 euros for 6 months worth of gym which is amazing value and now they have told me that my husband can come free on my pass. So it works out at 20 euros each (less than 5 US dollars a month for unlimited use 7 days a week)
Oh my gosh! That's CRAZY inexpensive! The gyms here are insanely pricey! You're definitely blessed, hon! The rock bottom cheapest gym is like $400 a year (and good luck living close enough to go lol) but most gyms here run about $60 a month. So yeah, totally out of my budget. It's crazy.
