Omega's journey

It is great to feel good enough about ourselves to actually believe a compliment when we get one.

I am having a great day thanks (Rod took the day off work). I got some second-hand exercise DVDs for £3 each. If they all play it will work out a real bargain. I think that people buy them and then cannot be bothered to do the exercises.

I hope that you are having a good day too.

too true! i've been through a lot to get to this stage but its well worth it.

a lot of people do that. buy dvds and then never use them. hell i've done it! but great bargain for you. i'm sure they'll be almost new as well. let me know how you go with them and if there are any that stand out. good for you for having a good day and Rod.

I hope that you are having a good day too.

its been a brilliant day. just got back from a walk. :)

Aside from the scale not cooperating, I'm glad you had a great day with Rod. :)

LOL@you and the tea drinking. I think I would eat or drink just about anything if it meant I'd instantly lose 50lbs..lmao. I do not like tequila at all, the mere smell of it makes me wanna :puke: , but if downing a shot of it daily meant that I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain weight, I'm pretty sure I'd plug my nose and down that puppy. :biggrinjester:

You really should convince Rod to move here--so much more economical. Then we could see each other all the time. :biggrinjester:

I'm pleased that you had a good day too. I remember enjoying days with no classes.

You really are getting back on track with your walking.
I couldnt believe that I managed to get "Davina High Energy Five" still in cellophane with a "brand new for 2008" sticker for just £3. Rod disapproves of me going into charity shops - but he relented so that I could expand my exercise DVD collection. He could not deny that was a real bargain. It is £11.99 on play.com and £11.98 on amazon.

Kimberly
I actually bought 4 exercise DVDs for £3 each and 2 exercise videos at 50p each. I have a machine where I can record a DVD from a video tape so they are not as eccentric as they sound. It can be quite an economical way of expanding my exercise DVD library.

You should not be thinking of drinking tequila in your possible condition!!!! There are after all more important things in life than your figure!

You put up a good arguement about there being plenty of more cost effective places to live. Knowing my luck - an anglophile like you would head over here the minute I got there!

Take care

I also miss checking in here with my friends!Hugggs Tammy

Hi Margaret
I trust you are still enjoying your treadmill. Things are good here in Canada. I finished my bootcamp and enjoyed 3.5 inch loss over the 6 weeks, and I also cut down my 1.25 kilometer running time from 10.30 mins to 7.55 mins! That was my favorite result. I am stronger than when I started.

Anyway, keep up your own good work and keep your eyes on the prize!

Hopefully I will get back where I was early next week. I really hate how my weight loss is all skewed. I gain so much weight due to TOM that it removes half my month from moving forward towards where I want to be. I keep working during the dead period - but it is quite frightening how little I would lose if I didnt bother for those two weeks.

Kimberly
Here's hoping that you have a good excuse to avoid the tequila (as if hating the stuff wasnt a good excuse!)

I am the VHS queen. We have about 2000 VHS video tapes from when I had too many workaholic tendencies. We started a project to sort through them and bin them (copying anything worthwhile to computer hard-disk) not long before I started losing weight. I havent really done anything with the video project though! The theory is that we do not want to have to house so many tapes and we certainly do not want to move them from one house to another.

The newly acquired video tapes are bought on the understanding that they will return to the charity shop once we have a computer backup and a DVD, and I have played the DVD and confirmed the acceptability of the copy. I do want a reasonable exercise DVD library.

Angel
Walking is a great form of exercise - and under-rated in my opinion by so many people. There is much to be said for walking outdoors when the weather is nice. We do benefit from the fresh air.

Tammy
Please do not feel that you should lose weight to feel great. A number of us would feel absolutely fantastic if we were gaining weight for the reason that you are. It is not like you just decided to eat tons of chocolate - you are creating life. I am sure that you are eating healthier than you did during your other pregnancies (you have learnt so much) so your baby will be thriving. I therefore dont think that you will gain as much fat as you have in the past (baby weight yes - fat no) so it will come off really well when the baby arrives.

Janice
I am getting a lot of value for money out of my treadmill. If we keep on at this rate it will pay for itself in no time. Rod is currently taking three days off so I am walking indoors. He even did over 4 miles on it yesterday and I did 11. He keeps pushing himself too hard and then needing to take the next couple of days off. He would do better by doing a bit less and being able to repeat it every day. I cannot complain as I know that he does it in order to please me. He certainly is happier to walk on the treadmill than outside.

It is wonderful that your bootcamp gave you so many great results. You will be a WW leader before long at this rate.

Take care

Hallooo Margret!
I sure have missed ya.
Sounds like things are just going along fine for you like always.
How amazing that you are down into the 130's already! WOW
Now that I am back on track I need to lose 35-37 pounds to get to my goal of 165. I would like to do that by my birthday which is in end of September. I don't know if I can do it but I am certainly going to try.
I really feel like I need to push myself even harder now since I let myself fall off the wagon and gain back 10-12 pounds. In about a month it will have been a year since I started this whole thing. And I really wanted to be to my goal by then. And I could have been to had I stuck to the plan.
You inspire me!

Thanks for visiting. Naturally I hope that you have a great weekend too.

Dawn
Now that you are back on track one thing is for sure - you will be a lot nearer your goal by the time that your birthday comes along than you are today. It does get tough when you are well into a long term project. People that never had much to lose can go on a diet - eat the odd crispbread and tell everyone how tough they are having it while most other things in life stays the same - and stop within a couple of months. They probably have had a successful project too because they feel happier about how they look. Then there are the people that need a long term project..... We totally reorganise our lives and have to basically restructure things so that if we stay on track we couldnt lose more weight if we moved into a health farm! We throw ourselves into it - body and soul. We exercise in a way that we never have before - and we eat so healthily we feel that you should be saying things like "my body is a temple". It is no wonder that we get a bit jaded after a time. I am not perfect - guess who has been hitting the honey shreddies today....

I am so pleased that you are back on track. You will get there. Dont be surprised that you are only human and slip up occasionally. You might not be the weight that you would like for your birthday - but you will be near enough as makes little difference if you compare things to your start weight. Dig out those old start photos and then look in the mirror. Realise how far you have come already.

It will be my birthday in a week and I am certainly not as thin as I would like to be yet. It was my wedding anniversary a week ago - and I was the thinnest that I have ever been on my wedding anniversary (all my weight went on starting immediately before I married and continued over the next year - I was enormous by the time my first anniversary came around). I would have loved to be able to wear my wedding ring on my 22nd wedding anniversary - but I couldnt. I still have never worn my wedding ring on any of my anniversaries. Naturally - I tried it on - but I wasnt quite thin enough to wear it yet. I still have those remaining pounds to lose for a reason. I will get there - but not quite in time for that deadline.

We are nearly there - but not quite yet.

Valerie
I cannot tell you how pleased I am to see that you are now of a weight that you feel comfortable and are within a four pound range where you would happily spend your life. That is truly brilliant.

I am pleased to report that my ankles have done excellent service and give me no problems. I am now the proud owner of a treadmill (a Tunturi T60) so I no longer have to walk outside when the weather is bad.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I see the scale is going back down more. :hurray: Hope you're having a great weekend.

Val--I have tried very expensive, high quality tequila and I still find it revolting. :ack2:

I'm having a great weekend - and I know that you will be.

No tequila for you Kimberly - no matter what magical properties for weight loss may be discovered for it.

Glad you're having a good weekend. :)

No worries---I have absolutely no desire to drink tequila. Caffeine will be hard for me, but I have cut way down on all the coffee.

Yoohoo! Anybody home?

How's the weight going? Has it come down anymore today?

I was watching a cool travel program last night that took place in England and Wales. This guy went to Dover, and talked a bit about the white cliffs, and then to Canturbury Cathedral where they showed a re-enactment of Beckett's murder. Then to the Cotswolds where they showed a medieval joust, and explained how the two finger sod off salute came from--back in the days when archers fought in battles (mainly with the French), those two fingers were the ones they used to pull the bow string back, and I think he said that when an archer was captured the enemy would often cut off those two fingers as punishment. So when the archers would successfully empty their quiver without being captured, they'd give the French the two finger salute..lol I always wondered how that came to be. They also went to Cornwall and showed how to make a Cornish pasty. Yum. Anyway, it made me want to go back for another trip--not that I need much encouragement. :D
