Omega's journey

Thanks for visiting.

Have a look around the supermarket or greengrocers and pick out a vegetable that you have either never had or not had in a long time. Get enough to do with other vegetables in a dinner - so not a vast amount and try it. We have discovered that we like quite a few vegetables that way.

Kimberly

Maybe in eight years we will all wake up and suddenly find that we dont like the taste of chocolate. That would be quite convenient really - it is so easy to not eat something that you dont like.

My weight slowly was getting back there - then I weighed for today. Strangely enough I was the same high weight both before and after my morning walk (which is very unusual). My weight has gone right back up but I put it down to something missing in the way of bathroom activity. I suppose that I will eat a bit extra fruit today - but really, I would have thought that my fibre levels would be among the highest on the forum! I drink plenty of water. Thankfully I am not getting any pain.

Becky

With those grades I am sure that you will get a choice of some very good universities. I suppose that the big question is whether or not you want to be near where your parents are. If the answer is yes - you need to decide whether you want to stay at home with them or taste a little freedom. Parents can have some very definite views on such things so I would make up my mind what I really wanted before letting them influence things too much.

Thanks for visiting. I hope that the weekend is going well for you both.

Rae

You forget that we are divided by a common language. There are words that we use that you dont and vice versa. I believe that you know a courgette as a zucchini. The weekend is going well here the weather has stayed dry - although less bright than yesterday. I have done my walks for the day and can therefore feel contented that it has been a good day.

YES!! I knew it! I had an idea that perhaps a zucchini is what courgette is. Have you tried it shredded thin with red, green and yellow peppers, water chestnuts and carrots sprinkled with soy sauce? My father makes this and it's absolutely DELICIOUS! I highly recommened it to anyone with a craving for courgettes.

I do hope your weather stays dry. There's only about two weeks of winter left here, and I'm praying the weather stays managable. I really, really miss the hot weather right now. Summer is my favorite time of the year.

I hope you're having a good Sunday, dear. Glad to hear your walk yesterday went well for you!!

Big Hugs!!

Challenge requires me to have 5 cups of cabbage this week

How is this ? - I am making mock cabbage rolls...gonna make them now and then I will eat it for the next few meals - LOL and days prob...eat it today and tomorrow...

When is challenege deadline - we started on Tuesday ? I just figured Id ask cuz you would probually know:)

Ya know Margaret you loose weigh tfor a reason...for starters look at your eating - it is amazing...very minimual very low cal and of course the walking everyday...I use to walk my dog every mornign - I should start agian...It was a great way to start the day and just added to my exercise!

I have to admit that my legs are one of my better features now (this does not say a lot if you are aware of how bad my tummy and boobs are)!!!!!

Wishes

I might try cycling sometime. I have a bike that I havent tried to ride for many years sitting in the garage - maybe when we get some summer weather I will give it a go. Alternatively I am toying with joining a gym so would be able to use their exercise bikes if I do.

I still hold some fat on my bum - but the main of it is on my tummy which will be a spare tyre for another couple of stone.

If you have to boil the cabbage leaves I would think that it would work out fine. I would think it may be tricky to work out how many cups you were using if it were still whole leaves. Maybe you could check the internet for how many calories in a cup of cabbage - then how many grams of cabbage add up to that amount of calories and then weigh the leaves.

Before Friday people were only really getting ready to start the challenge. The challenge only really started on Friday so it is just like the last challenge where the weeks run from Friday through to the next Thursday - with the option to weigh either Thursday or Friday just like last time. It means that you count your exercise and cabbage eating just from Friday - but you have right up until next Thursday to get it all done. You therefore have heaps of time to eat cabbage.

I think that it is a brilliant idea of yours to walk your dog. He will really love it and I am sure that you will enjoy spending the time together. It would be a fun form of exercise. It would help to keep the dog healthy too which has to save on vet bills in the long term.

I think that one of the things that I really like about walking (aside from being great exercise and therefore helping my weight loss dreams come true) - is that it gives me a lot of time to think. Also I have been much more tranquil since I started walking - life is less of an emotional roller-coaster ride for me.

Oh yeah thats where mine is, the tummy and butt!

Get on the exercycles to get your fitness up is a good idea before cycling - but cycling outdoors is so much more interesting than sitting inside lol

Wishes - I often think that indoors / outdoors thing about walking on a treadmill - except when the heavens open and I do my impression of a drowned rat. Then I suddenly remember the positive side of walking indoors and get jealous of those that can.

The good side of having a spare tyre is that it keeps some of my soon to be loose skin occupied. I am hoping that it will decide to shrink of it's own accord - but part of me knows that it wont all do that.

I see you got in some cabbage. :D I guess I overdid it with cooking up cabbage today as we have lots of tummy rumblies going on. :smilielol5: I made egg rolls, stir-fry, and hot and sour cabbage soup. It was all yummy, but I think we are paying for it now. I cooked up 2 heads, so I'm sure I got in all my requirements even though I shared it with the family. :D

Haha! I don't think I'll ever lose my taste for chocolate. :drool5:

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of bathroom action. I'm sure it will all come out all right in the end. :smilielol5:

Thanks for visiting.

Sweatpea - Your food certainly does sound yummy. I am having no problem with the cabbage - indeed I cannot believe how much fibre I am having - and not a sign of tummy rumblies here. You would not believe it possible! I have had a portion of my lentil, cabbage and carrot soup which will contain over a cupful of cabbage. I divided a pan containing over 5 cupfuls evenly into 5 containers. In addition - being Sunday we had a roast dinner and I always have my plate piled high with boiled veg. Well I actually had cabbage in the big pan that I did between us (so I ignored that for the challenge - I will have no problem having the outstanding cupful) but I also measured 2 cups of cabbage into a second pan and that was all for me. So 1 cup yesterday and 3 cups today means that I am well on my way to my required consumption.

I felt sure that I would get some tummy rumblies with all my fruit and veg - but not a jot.

Kimberly

Heaven knows what I will weigh tomorrow at this rate with all that food weight if something doesnt happen soon.

It is nice to dream about the temptation that is chocolate disappearing for ever. I used to work with a Belgian lad who used to go home each weekend and bring back chocolates for the team every Monday.

It started Thursday - ah ok - I dunno why I thought it was earlier on in the week - thatnx now I can stop sweating about gettin the detour done:)

For mock cabbage rolls - you chop up the cabbage - boil it and then add it to your veggie/meat sauce...I dont roll them - this way I can measure and such...and know how much I am eating...

I agree with the walking it gave me plenty of time to think and such and it makes me feel really good - when I am stressed out I walk to clear my head and so on:)

I use to love walkign the dog every morning - I think I will get back into that :)

Thanks for visiting.

Having an inclination towards constipation and not having "been" - I was actually hoping for some sort of action and was eating extra fruit to try and bring it about. Eventually - some action resulted - but I am not convinced that it was anywhere like enough! I just hope that it prevents me from getting pained.

Cerella

You have tons of time up to and including all day Thursday to eat that cabbage and get the exercise in. The cabbage rolls sound nice. I was thinking something more along the lines of dolmades with cabbage leaves instead of vine leaves. I remember on one of my many many failed diets experimenting with having a spaghetti bolognese idea where I substituted boiled cabbage instead of spaghetti. It wasnt brilliant but it wasnt too bad either. Definitely a meal that you would only have if on a diet.

I hope that you get back into walking - although I recognise what a busy schedule you have. Mind you on days like today (it is raining very very heavily - such that it has knocked out the satellite dish) - there is much to be said for not bothering. My hubby has told me that I am insane if I go out walking in it. Naturally - I will be going out walking in a little while. Maybe when I get to goal weight I will do an exercise video and not go out walking on days like today. As things currently are - I do not dare miss out on my walking on a day that I had planned to walk.

Marg, I think it's great that walking has decreased your stress level substantially. To find not only an outlet, but a *healthy* outlet that calms you is fantastic. This is how it is when I run. It's just me and my music and my treadmill and my thoughts. It's as if I can figure things out when I'm down there running. My racing pulse and rabid breath augment my ability to sort through my head it seems. It's great to hear I'm not the only one with this ability.

Good luck with this cabbage challenge, hon. I'm rooting for you.

Hope you're having a good Monday!

Morning Sunshine!! good luck to you this week!!! It's sunny out and I'm feeling good!!:seeya:

I need to go check out the challenge for the week, I haven't been there yet, YIKES!!! I hope I can get some points finally for my team

Hugs!

Mmmm....Belgian chocolate........:drool5: How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. :biggrinjester:

I'm sorry all that fiber isn't producing the desired effects. :( I'm sure it will happen soon, though.

I saw that England is getting pounded with wind and rain, and I thought of you out walking in it like a :biggrinjester: heehee. I certainly do admire your dedication. I think I'd rather walk in place at home while watching the telly. :biggrinjester: I'm sure you did a splendid drowned rat impression today. :D
