Older, Wiser, but still fat...

knocked out 110 miles total for the week. did 21.5 yesterday and managed an avg speed of 16.4 mph. pretty good!

No time to post, so I'll be back.

This week is starting off well enough, but not perfect...

Did another 25 miles today, plus an upper body (heavy) push split workout:
4x5 bench
3x5 close grip bench
3x5 assisted dips
3x5 triceps pushdowns
2x10 overhead presses2x10 external and 2x10 internal shoulder rotations on cable.
2x14 back extensions on roman chair
crunches, oblique crunches, crunches on ball.

Yesterday I rested for cardio, only 20 minutes on the elliptical because I went to the gym with my wife.
light upper body pull split:

2x10 close grip cable rows
2x10 behind the head lat pulldowns
2x10 standing rows
2x10 DB alternate front raises
2x10 bicep curls on cable
2x10 pallof presses
2x10 knee raises on captain's chair

Food wise I have been pretty good lately, the one exception being the entire large movie popcorn I ate by myself whilst watching Harry Potter :piggy::piggy:

Forgive me, I have sinned...

I was actually somewhat concerned that I would be up today because of it (sodium = water retention), but It has been pretty warm and muggy here the last couple of weeks (finally!!), and I probably sweat out a bunch of the sodium on my bike rides.

Well, I rode my motorcycle to work last night because the long range forecasts all looked good. Hell, as of yesterday morning it all still looked good. Guess what?

I'm sitting in my office listening to the rain pouring down outside. Nope, not a sprinkle, not a shower, a good solid soaking... Good thing my wife drives by in the morning. She's dropping off my waterproof jacket.

Rain sucks.

UGHGHGHGHHGHG

I want a motorcycle... I am so jealous, although not of you driving through the rain... that's a tit twisting! Send the rain our way.... it has been 100 for the last 6 days and DRY!

I'll trade...

I am one of those people who woul drather be soaked in sweat and have to shower a couple times a day than freeze. I hate living here. Well, not really hate, I like it most of the time, but not during winter and not this summer, which has been damn near non existent.

winter sucked last year...if it could be summer/fall all year long...i would welcome that.

yes update on the mrs please..is she feeling good?????

My wife is wonderful, sexy, amazing and feeling really good.

They compare the after effects to being on a set of stairs. You drop, then level, then drop again. Currently she is in a slow down. She has dropped about 35-36 lbs. Bear in mind this is in 6 weeks time.

She is eating regular food altogether now, and we are going out with friends this weekend to a restaurant. She'll be a cheap date... Actually, we sort of thought about it. If we order one meal, she can share with me. Restaurants generally give you too much anyway. She'll fill up, and my portion size will decrease by sharing. It works for both of us.

The one thing I still get on her case about is water. We have to be very careful about it now too because of heat (and friend's hot tubs :D), because she does not have the ability to replace fluids quickly enough if she starts to dehydrate. It needs to be preventive.

She looks amazing though. I went shopping with her the other day, she came out of the dressing room with a really simple outfit, navy tank top with a white skirt - gorgeous! Down about 4 sizes...

Just dropping in to say hi at ya!
I miss coming in here. But it has been such a busy summer that I barely even know if I am coming or going! haha
So I really don't have alot of time to mess around on the computer.
Glad to hear that your wife is doing so well.
Catch ya later!

wow thats an amazing thing to be down 4 sizes...love it love it. i myself just bought one of those cute little tank top/nylon workout tops and 3 months ago i would have not been caught dead in the dark in that thing....i would gladly wear it out and running in daylight in this city where i know everyone.... :)....its amazing how great we can start to feel about ourselves

have a great weekend karl

awww, that is WONDERFUL about your wife!!! Happy to hear she is feeling well and dropping 4 sizes is certainly VERY exciting!!!!

Congrats Cabbie's wife hehe :)

way to go!!!

Now cabbie... about you... how are YOU doing these days?!?!?!

Kare and Melissa, Yup, the official total for her this weekend is 45 lbs. Yup 45 lbs lost!

Me on the other hand...

I'm basically the same as last week. I might be down a lb, the scale was kinda bouncing a bit, but I'm not going to update until I know for sure.

Gen, nice to see you! We all come back don't we? We might lose ourselves for a bit, but here we are. How are you doing these days?

Quick push based workout today, Flat, decline, incline, close grip, cable flys - 2 x 10 on all, lighter weights, not a power day. Did some triceps pushdowns and skullcrushers as well.

Raining cats and dogs so indoor cardio for me. The athletic director at the school knows me pretty well now since I'm at the rec center more than a lot of the full time students. He made a point of letting me know that they have a dance/aerobics studio that just happens to also hold a bunch of spinning bikes. Told me to use them any time. The nice part is that there is one of those turbine fans in the room (you know, the kind they use to dry out carpets after floods?), and nobody else there. Put the fan right on me, put on a kick ass playlist and rocked out on the spinning bike for just over an hour. Cadence 85-90 rpm avg, with a couple of quick intervals where I hit 120 ish (max was 122). I know what I'll be doing during the winter to keep in shape.

I'm in the 300's not the 310's, not the 320's, the 300's. That means soon I'll be in the 290's...
