Older, Wiser, but still fat...

I’m back. For those of you who were my friends before, if you are still around, I hope my sudden disappearance didn’t alarm anyone. I had things I needed to sort out and I needed to step away for a bit.

I wish I could say that my return is a triumphant one, but its not. I’ve gained back a few pounds and I’m not real happy with myself. Okay maybe more than a few…

I guess I need a fresh start, or at least a solid restart. These are the things I do right: I exercise; about 4-5 days a week I go to the gym. I currently do a push/pull split upper body workout, (4 days) and a day of legs. I only do legs once a week because I’m cycling 15 + miles at least 3, sometimes 4 days a week.

My problem is that I eat. A lot. If I hold myself accountable, I do better. I’m currently trying to be religious on the daily plate, although I take their exercise calories with a grain of salt (they say that a 16mph cycling pace at my size is around 1500 K/cal per hour – seems high to me)

I’m starting a journal fresh because I need to vent, and I’m hoping that some public accountability might keep me honest

Overall today has gone well enough. My eating has been under control. I did an upper body pull workout, and since it was raining, walked for 2 miles around the indoor track at school. My neck was not bothering me at all (got into a minor skirmish this weekend. A pickup truck wins every time against a motorcycle). Final tally for today comes out to 2826 cal, but my ratio of carbs/protein/fat was biased a little too heavily towards the carbs. I did manage to get a decent total amount of protein in though.

Workout:
3x5 @ 220 chest supported rows
3x5 @ 210 lat pull downs
3x5 @ 150 cable curls on towers
3x5 @ 105 Standing BB rows
2x20 back hyper extensions on 45° bench
2x40 crunches on ab bench

<3 Stacy

Nope, not legal. I work nights and don't have that much energy...

Thanks for stopping in sweetie! I'm ashamed of myself in some respects, but at least I kept up on the exercise portion.

Ahhh, my fellow Masshole.

Don't let a small bump in the road get to you. Remember the big picture, this was just a small timeframe in the rest of your life. You have done an amazing job that many people would love to accomplish.

Another thing, i always admired you for your workout habits around your crazy schedule. You schedule is actually boarderline insane. YOU have a lot on your plate and sometimes need that break. It's just how you come out of that break that matters.

Get back on the horse and keep kicking ass!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

Matt

PS. i love cliches.

If it weren’t for shit luck, I’d have none at all this week…

Saturday whilst driving my motorcycle trhough a grocery store parking lot, A pickup truck coming towards me in the other lane cut directly across my path with no blinker. I stopped hard and ended up under the bike and his front bumper. No real damage to me or the bike, but was sore for a couple of days.

Today, I was walking to class and stepped onto a broken piece of pavement near a construction zone. My left ankle folded out from underneath me and I took a header. Now I have an air cast on my left ankle. It’s sprained. Needless to say, I did not go cycling this afternoon.

that sucks cabbie. Dont let it effect you.

Glad to see everything is ok with your bike. Just make sur eyou do get it looked at because sometimes there is damage and you dont even know it. Let me know if you have any questions on that. I used to handle claims for a living.

Get that ankle better.

Matt

So......mister..........you're ankle is fuked up? i am sorry..hope you heal well soon...but does that mean you cant do like chair exercises like the old folks home... ;-)...stop whining and get chairjazzersizing or whatever... LOL

Also, I notice well you are very very good at journaling your workouts. So it seems the food is the issue with you....um..uh..why not hold yourself accountable by journaling the food as well!!! EUREKA...Karebare..you are so smart...

Okay honey..I am so glad you are back...yahooyalater...

Yes Darlin' But you're a cute drill seargent

You are right my dear, I am good at staying on top of my exercise, but I tend to get lazy when joournalling food, and my willpower is less than stellar... I am currently tracking in daily plate. Today I ate 2827 calories, 119 g of protein, 268g or carbs, and a whopping 146 g of fat. This is because I was running late and so my wife took me out to dinner... which I am never good at.

This was not a total loss though. See, at my height and weight, I can get away with some of this. Maintenance for me is actually around 3600 Kcal/day. I'm trying to eat at around 2600-2800 per day. On exercise days I'll add a bit. Clearly today ended up being an involuntary rest day. While my choice of foods was not the best today, I was not really that far over my target range.

.

Fuck man you need to be careful adn watch that. Thise bikes are so dangerous...You guys arent easy to see, How long have you had the bike out for and riding?

So I read you were having problems with food...

What your eating how much your eating ???

Im having the same issues...

My food has been horrible even you would be scorning me.

Wanna hear what I ate today...

a bowl of soup and a cup of yoguart.

and cauliflower...

Im working my ass off doing p[90x and playing tennis non stop...

I need to eat more adn eat bewtter...

May I propose a challenge, not so much challenege but some sort of accauntability with our food together?

You know... The problem is that I was doing everything right. I was in my lane, in a parking lot, watching for people backing out of parking spaces. I just didn't expect the guy driving towards me to just cut right in front. I mean, WTF, I'm a big dude, and my headlight was on and pointing right at the guy, ya know?

Sigh... idiots...

I've put a few hundred or so miles on the bike so far this season. Up til this week we've actually had a fairly dry spring. Course it has rained every day for a few days now and its going to keep on going for a few more.

Hey, kid... Not sure if I'm up for a challenge just yet. I wanna see if I can stabilize a bit myself first. I'm not against the idea, but wanna think it through first.

Ya same here, we actually finally got spring i was playing tennis 5/6 days a week and it was always nice now it has started rainging and has been since Sunday lol on and off i mean i got to play tennis on Monday but has been raining everyday since.

Just be careful ka...on the bike...guess i still kinda like ya deep inside...:reddevil:LOL
