Today did not start out well. Got up this afternoon (for thse new to my world here I'm a night shifter, so no, I'm not just a lazy slug who sleeps all day...), and went for a ride. It was about 92°F, and humid so I got good and soaked. Did 20 miles. Went home to shower up, eat some dinner and go to work (hell week, remeber?).
Daughter was washing the pooches in the tub when I got home. Now, I am allergic to most dogs. My little doggies are shih-tzus that, while not quite hypo-allergenic, are at least tolerable for me. Unless of course they are being bathed. For some reason that throws something into the air that gets to me. I grabbed a shower after the dogs were done. By the time I was finished I was so far into an asthma attack that I could barely get enough wind to dry off.
I did a nebulizer treatment and used my inhaler, got nothing out of either one. Threw my clothes on, could barely tie my shoes, and got out of the house. By the time I was 10 minutes up the road I was at least not gasping for air. I'm okay now, but damn!
It never ceases to amaze me that I can go from being able to have a good heart rate while cycling for an hour and a half at a 16 mph avg speed, with no breathing issues, and 20 minutes later be gasping for air to tie my shoes. Allergies and asthma both suck.
