Nice one mate just reading through your post! Really good results there. You have motivated me because my build is very similar and i just hope my results are as good! What sort of training did you do when cutting? Did you do much cardio or stick to the weights? Also, do you drink much alcohol?

Thanks

I actually did a lot of cardio. Starting cardio for heart health is actually what brought me to this whole cutting journey...I started losing weight and the muscle I had built over the years started really showing up.

I came here in June and decided to clean up my diet and start counting calories etc.. I haven't had a cheat meal or a drop of alcohol since. I used to be somewhat of a beer connoisseur so I thought it would be really hard, but I don't miss it at all. I realize now that it made me feel like ****

Well, I decided to do a clean bulk after I got sick about a 1 1/2 month ago and got all the way down to 180 lbs. I'm back up to 188 now and I look just as lean to me. I went to buy some new shorts for summer and I fit into a 32" waist now! I haven't worn a 32 since high school when I weighed 155 (skinny as hell for my height and frame) I even had to replace boxers and workout pants from a large to medium. I'm happy as hell

You have earned the feeling of being happy and feeling great with all the work you have put in. Wade in it, embrace it full throttle you deserve it!

Good Job, dude!

Dude! You put FOOD in your "Calorie Busten Furnace" to be STEWED and your body believes 4,000 calories are flat-out RUDE and CRUDE. So to put you in a better MOOD it created a metabolism FUED so you wouldnt be SCREWED

So, I CONCLUDE that the reason you like yourself NUDE is due to your body adapting and putting you in the MOOD, so your happiness could be VIEWED.

Congrats, Gooch. Really. It takes hard work, dedication, blood, sweat, and overcoming some frustration, in what we do, and you are definately conquering it!

ROCK ON!

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I was a little bummed because I finally had to admit to myself I need a week off to recover from a few nagging injuries and overall fatigue..but that made me feel better.

...and correction: I was 189.2 this morning...gotta be precise LOL. I might need to taper back to 4000 from 4200 cals especially for an off week:p

What are these "Nagging Injuries" you are speaking of? If your diet is close to being correct, and you are attmepting to perform the right volume of training, what is wrong with taking a week off (or a few days?). I do it regularly, gooch, and I do not experience fatigue. Just like you need to be "out of the gym" to grow, it is GOOD for the GOOCH to be out of the gym completely from time to time for a reasonable length of time.

What is the problem with this, young man?

IT band syndrome, stiff neck, pulled muscle in my foot, tight upper back...and just general fatigue. I've been falling asleep at like 2 in the afternoon every day

I know it's good to take time off sometimes, but I crash emotionally from it. The high I get from exercise keeps me feeling good.:D

Awesome job man. There is tremendous change in the tone of your body.

Like you, I've been dropping weight and leaning up a lot for the pass 2 1/2 months. Couple of suggestion to maybe keep you motivated: 1) try taking a body fat assestment and re-do it again in 1 months. 2) possibly try to work for a six pack. 3) and finally get a tan man, you will see more muscle definition and it is spring.

As for my personal result, I've went from 185 to 170 lbs in 2 1/2 months; while still increasing in strength with weight training. Now, i am going for the 6 pack while trying to drop down another 10 lbs. Btw, I used to drink like 30-40 beers / shots of acohol a week.... now ZERO and I cannot stand acohol anymore and it makes me weak and fatigue for 5 days after drinking. been about a month since I last touch that stuff. Glad to read about someone who is on the same boat as I am.

The only way I would get tan is if all my freckles touch:)

I'm a skin cancer candidate for sure if I tried LOL.

The abs are getting close. What I'm doing right now is actually a short bulk then cut back to the weight I was to get gradually leaner

damn gooch nice job.

I wish I could just shed my friggin love handles. Yours look like they melted away quickly.
