Ohappydaye's Diary

Well, well, well...I see you all are being frisky in my diary in my absence! A girl can't fall asleep under her desk without her diary being hijacked these days! :p :p :p :p :D :D :D You all are nuts....guess that's why I love you so.

Now I'm off to see if anyone has given me recommendations on where to move to in England. I want out of the states and faaaaaaaar away from my daughter's father!

It's not looking too great...guess I'll have to take my research elsewhere. I'm really not concerned about moving costs, I've researched my job opportunities and with signing bonuses and the like those fees would be minimal for me out of pocket. Also, if I could go through one of the "teach abroad" type programs since I'm technically an educator and there's an extreme shortage in my field which would aid a great deal with the financial aspects. We have a lot of teachers at the schools I serve that utilize such programs. We've got teachers from Jamaica and Brazil this year, had two from London last year...unfortunately their 3 years was up and they left us. There's always the option of staying but that's when the financial burden becomes more of a personal responsibility, so most decide to leave, that and the whole visa issue.

Oh well, I really like the idea and have been feeling like I need to get away for some time now. And I'm open to just about anywhere that would allow for a good education and experience for my daughter....while getting us away from the stress of our lives as well!

Ok...I'm going to have to go to bed now, I'm a wee bit tired. I'll be back in the morning to catch up on everyone's naughtiness. Have a good night everyone...or morning, all depending on where you are. :D

Mornin OHD!!!! Good luck with the moving abroad thing - its sounds scary & exciting all at once!!

Have a great day!! :D:D:D:D

Hey RNW! *OHD waves and then shakes her pom poms* ...I LOVE these things!! :D :D

Pequin, I'm not too afraid of moving anywhere really. This is the LONGEST I've ever been anywhere. This year makes 5 years in this area for me! I usually start to get the itch to move after a year or so. I've slowed down since my daughter started school, to keep things stable for her. But this itch to get away coupled with the stress of her ignorant, dead beat dad is making me want to move again...soon.

My brother in law emailed me yesterday and offered to fly me and my daughter out to Texas on our next long weekend, just to get us away from it all. He and my sister really want us to move out there with them. They just built this huge house and the last of their daughters graduated last year and they're all alone in this big ol' house. They were hoping that if they built this new house, the kids would go to school locally and live at home, but no luck. They've both left the state. I've considered it, but I don't know.

HEY OHD! so, your thinking of moving to get away from your hubby? are you a certified teacher? We have an excellent school here, top 100 in the US. and they pay good too...and its practically another country...lol! No visa issues...and you don't have to trade in your currency for another (sometimes tourists ask if american dollars "work" here...lmao).

I hope you find something that works for both you and your daughter!

Thanks M!

No, I'm a school psychologist, but technically an "educator." I'm moving or thinking of moving from my "ex"...THANK GOD I didn't marry him! A good school system is important to me for my daughter, as she's in one of the best school districts in the country now. Where are you again? Might just look into that. Hmmm, OHD scratches her chin.

In in Unalaska, Alaska. I can give you the school district contact informaton. Also, our local health services has a behavioral health department. Our school's are fabulous, college prep, new facilities...NO OVERCROWDING! I went to school here from third grade on and feel like I got a better education then at least 90 percent of my peers. Our superindendent is actually super of the year in alaska and up for super of the year in the US also, and he's not the first from our district to take home those honors. I'm bragging...but I can because its that good here.

Thanks, I need to get it together though. I haven't really worked out at all this week. Did some strength training on Monday, but that's it. I even got a call from my Curves trainer! I am in trouble with a capital T. :p I'm starting tennis lessons tomorrow, my daughter and her instructor talked me into it so that'll be great.
