Nothing To Loose - That is the goal

Crunchie - thanks for support and thoughts on my behalf.

Saturday has gone well so far. I spent almost half a day washing and waxing my car(those bugs are impossible to get off!!!), hence I think I burned some extra calories. Yesterday was good too. Hubby and I went for a walk, we probably did about a mile.

Tomorrow I'm going riding, so should be good on exercise.

Yesterday was good, although I ate sushi for dinner and gained some water weight as a result. Today am planning to go riding, so exercise should be good.

I see from your ticker now you've lost a whole stone, I'm currently playing catch up and trying to get to where you are in the 130's so watch your back!;) You're so close to your goal no and you're obviously staying active enough to be able to keep up the loss so well done!:D

Thanks Crunchie. The way you are going, you'll catch up with me in no time! You've actually lost more then I have, so way to go! My progress is very-very slow, but I'm hoping a permanent one. I really hope to get rid of the last 6 lbs soon, but it will depend a lot on my body. I'm one of the really slow loosers. I'm also in the territory I've never been before weight wise, so I'm not surprized that my body is inching forward very very slowly.

Slow weight loss is probably the best for keeping the weight off permenantly. Have you tried maybe doing something different to give your bod a wee bit of a shock? I started only taking in a net of 1200cals this week and I've lost 2lbs so far as I was getting stuck inthe two weeks before this one.

I have another idea for when I get to sort of the stage your at to try drinking the green tea to boost metabolism a bit. Not sure if you're drinking green tea just now but it might be worth a wee shot?

interesting crunchie....were you eating more than that on average before? 2 lbs is amazing for 1 week at where you stand right now..that is great.

ntl - we know the snails pace will be a permanant loss - you are doing great. keep it up!!!!

This week is not going to be greatest for weight loss, because I had more stress then usual, and had a bit more food(although not bad), and I missed couple of exercise sessions b/c of lack of time. But that's just the way this week went, and sometimes it happens. Unfortunately it won't get me closer to my goal, but oh well. Next week the stress won't be there, and I can pursue the good eating and exercise more thouroughly.

Thank you, Crunchie, for suggestions. My only problem with tea is that I have to have sugar and preferrably milk or artificial creamer in it, which adds calories, and from what I heard I'd need to drink tea like water before it would make any effect on my metabolism, and it would be offset by the calories in tea anyway. I do have a cup or two per day, but more as a treat/special drink. (When I say tea, I mean green tea, I try not to drink any other kind).

Skyler, thank you for support! Yes, I'm comforting myself in that the snail's pace will give me permanent loss, so at least I can look at this in a positive way. :)

You are doing awsome keep up the great work!!! 6 pounds left wow you rock!~!!!!

thanks for uplifting my spirits this morning! you always bring that sense of REALNESS to this whole effort. I appreciate it. Have yourself a wonderful day and happy friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah right I wasn't sure if you drank green tea at all, only just learned about it myself! Hope you're having a good weekend so far though lass, keep up the good work!;)

Thanks, Crunchie!

Well, I was thinking about it and I realized that my "lifestyle" change is not quite complete yet. I'm noticing that without calorie counting I'm allowing myself a slightly "freer" way with food, especially treats. Even though I kept the serving size small, eating those things was making me ultimately hungrier, which was making me eat more then I should be eating, and I could feel it. So I'm going back to counting calories untill I am on a better track again. I don't think I was doing bad w/o counting, but I think it was a bit dangerous. I think if I was in maintenance phase, it would have been ok, but since I'm still trying to loose weight, I'd rather work on being good more consistantly.

Yesterday my calories were around 1500. Weekend is going well. I rode both Saturday and Sunday, and also sunday washing/waxing cars, so am getting plenty of exercise. Will report tomorrow on calories.

Calorie wise yesterday was not the best - 1570, but given how much activity I did it was probably ok. Unfortunately, my weight seems to be on the upswing this weekend, gaining 1.5 lbs, and feeling really yucky and bloated all over my body. Its like I got puffy last couple of days. I'm hoping that it is just water retention and not real weight gain, however, I've been drinking a lot during weekend, and going to the bathroom, so I should not be retaining that much water...
Anyway, I guess the time will tell. I just have to say that I am ready to get rid of the last few lbs.

i hear ya, NTL - maybe you should consider the caliper method as well as the scales with the water and muscle forming is really hard to gauge where we're at...i'm sure you didnt gain a true 1.5lbs - you would have had to totally indulge and it doesnt sound that way so i'm sure it is water....it will go away. try not to let it get you down. You are so close & when you think about it....can you tell when somebody has lost 5 lbs??? i dont think that i can....I know that you will and you are close but as you gain more muscle, you'll get smaller with those measurements, burn more daily and eventually with your new lifestyle, it will come off...hang in there.. you are doing great. another week to kick some behind!!

Thanks, Skyler!

Yes, I will concentrate this week on doing more strength training. I'm shooting for 4 times this week. I'm going to track the calories (shooting for 1300-1400 per day, trying not to exceed 1500), and concentrate on getting this exercise in, and hopefully by the end of this week I'll see a bit of progress.

I did pretty good yesterday - I exercised! I'm pretty happy with myself, because I exercised after finishing waxing car for an hour. I could have decided that I was tired and had enough of a workout anyway, but I did not, and had my weights workout anyway! The workout was good, I could definitely feel those muscles working!

Calories came out to be 1500 (that's with a Starbucks trip and ice-cream at night), so I'm pretty happy. Hope to have just as good day today.

One thing I noticed lately is that I feel much hungrier in the morning, and want to eat a lot of food. I hope being fuller at one meal will prevent me from snacking extra throughout the day.
