Nothing To Loose - That is the goal

JB and NL, Thanks for putting things in perspective. Yes, I know I need to concentrate on those immediate goals, and be happy with what I have going now. However, sometimes that knowledge goes out the window when emotions build up.

Thank you all for your kind words. Sometimes just hearing them (or reading them) from someone else helps a lot!

Now that i've had my coffee things seem to be getting back to normal. ;)

Yes, those last 10 pounds (although they may not be last, I don't know) are going to be harderst, because the lightest I remember myself in adult life is at 133. So breaking the 133-135 barrier will be very hard. Also, I think my body kind of needs to get used to this new weight. I'm definitely going to continue with exercise, and follow Skyler's advice and keep a bit more calories for later.

Yesterday I got in 8200 steps, plus a good ride. I did not get enough water though (actually drank a lot, but because it was hot I guess I sweat it all out) and was a bit dehidrated this morning. Its probably due to dehydration, but my fat % went down today, even though my weight did not... So, I take it as a sign that I'm building muscles, and that is awesome! Building muscle is great, because I will be loosing inches and my metabolism will increase!

I did not get my calisthenics this morning, as I was so tired and achy from the ride last night. Hope it won't rain at lunch so I can get my walk in.

Hi there, I think you are doing really well and you should be really proud of your self. I know how frustrating it must be to have the numbers on the scale not moving, but I really think its a matter of you body adjusting, Like you said before the lightest you have ever been was the 133-135 mark so I bet your numbers will stay the same for a while until your body reallise this is it not going to change, and then I reckon you will have a good drop in numbers. Well thats just my theroy any way. All I know is you are consistant with your diet and your exercise and sooner or later that will have to pay off for you. And yes it is not fair that men lose weight so easierly. keep up your good work because you are doing an awsome job.:)

Hello, all!
Well, yesterday turned out to be worse then I planned. We had a team lunch and went to Thai food place (I love Thai food!) and I ordered a dish with rice noodles, chicken and veggies in sauce. The portion was huge and I ate almost whole thing, because it was so good, I could not stop! I have no idea how many calories were in it, but I would assume that I overate for the day. Luckily my breakfast was small and I skipped dinner, so I hope that it was not too bad, but I have no way of knowing. Guess that was my cheat day for the week. I am trying to stay very light on calories today to make up for it hopefully.

Even though I got slightly smaller from my 10 lbs loss, I still feel tons of fat on me. Went shopping and decided to try on pants, and they still did not fit me at all, and I've noticed how big my legs were in the mirrow... So, I'm not stopping with weightloss anytime soon! I just can't wait for my body to catch up, gain some muscle and start letting go of that fat. Zoila, I think you're right, I'm going to be stuck around 135 for a while, until my body adjusts and starts letting go of that fat! I am not giving up until that happens! :)

Since it was raining, I did not get in
my riding. Have to do some stationary bike later. Instead hubby and I did some highlights at home.

hey ntl,
i wouldnt worry too much about yesterday especially b/c you skipped dinner! i think your key is going to adding exercise to your regimen. you seem to be very good at eating the "right" number of calories but definitely need to UP the aerobic exercise to probably 20 minutes a day (i think you said you have a bike in your house). That will kick up your metabolism and get things moving for you! Good luck. Now that you are feeling better, you can really get things moving!!

Skyler, you're right, I need to up the exercise. I don't know if I can manage 20 min on a bike yet, but I can definitely make it my goal. I have not gotten any exercise in today, but I took a day off. I was still achy from Thursday, so I needed to take it easy today.

I know I am kind of slow getting into the exercise thing(and thank you for your encauragement, I think I need all I can get :) ), but I would rather start slowly and stick to it, then throw myself in too fast and give up. However, I'm in it for a long haul, and will build on exercise as much as I can. I really need to get it done so I can see some progress.

Calories were not very good today- about 1500, but the good part is that I got some exercise in - I went on a bike ride with my hubby for about 40 min, got some good hills in.

I am so HUNGRY after the ride! I had dinner, pudding, wine, cottage cheese and I am still hungry. Trying not to eat anything else till morning though.
It is funny that I get so hungry after my bike ride, while I feel completely normal after horseback riding. Biking is probably shoking my body in completely different way then riding. Hope it will work!

I'm starving after my workouts to! I read somwhere that women are almost always hungry after a strenuous workout, whereas guys really aren't. Something thats great to have after your workout is protein- ya could do a scoop of vanilla protein(usually 100%whey has about 100 cals per scoop, and around 20g of protein) with a cup of orange juice, and half of a banana, and then blend it with lots of ice- ice makes the shake a bit thicker, therefore being more filling. So thats fairly lo-cal, and very nutritious :) Plus, protein makes you feel fuller for longer...

hope that helps a bit!!

Jess, Thanks for the tip! That shake sounds good, especially for cooling off after suffering heat outside!
Yesterday I could not hold out and ate some crackers with cheese before going to bed.

Now the good news is that I must have been gaining muscles, because in a last month I lost 1 inch off my hips(without actually loosing any weight). And measurements can't lie (unlike the evil scale). So, I'm pretty happy about that, especially since that area is so hard for me to tone down!

that is great!!! an inch off the hips!!!!!!!!!!!!! hooray!! great job!! amazign how the scale doesnt move but you are right, the measurements do NOT lie. great job!

and great job on the long bike ride!! i didnt mean for you to jump into crazy exercise routine..just maybe 1 or 2 days a week to up your intensity/duration over time may help..just my 2 cents..

have a good one!

Thank you all!

No, Skyler, I believe you, I totally need to up my exercise. I need to find out what I can stand doing as a routine. So far outside bike rides seem to be doing it for me. About 5.5 years ago I was an avid biker, doing about 13 miles a day on my bike, and 18 on weekends. I really enjoyed that. I think I can recapture that feeling and do it regularly, especially since I'm getting my husband to do it with me.

So, for now my exercise plan is this: 10 minute calisthenics in the morning 5 days a week. Ride horse 2 times per week, Ride bike 2 times per week (40min to 1 hr each). Additional activities are walking during lunch or climbing stairs at work 5 times a week. I have to say, I have not been very consistant with calisthenics or walking/stair clibming, although last week was better. But, I'm going to try to stick with the plan as much as I can for the next few weeks, and see if I can get a routine going.

Hey congrats on the inch off the hips, bet that felt great to finaly see some results. Well done.

Ok, I realized that I forgot to post in my diary this morning.

Calories yesterday were good, 1150. I ended up not riding my horse because he lost one of his shoes. But because of being out in the barn, I got 6K steps in. Also did some good calisthenics at home after I came back. Tonight I will try for a bike ride and some more calisthenics. Really need to work those muscles. Oh, yeah, my weight went down to 134, but its probably just water flux.
