Ive decided to keep a diary of my weightloss journey, I think it will keep me more motivated to see my progress developing and help me too see where I need improvement when I get stuck.

Like most people here Ive had a weight problem most of my life, Things got worse and more outta control for me when I hit puberty and developed PCOS (poly cyctic ovarian syndrome) Since then Ive been up and down and every size inbetween, The smallest Ive ever been was a size 10 which I achevied through weight watchers around the age of 15, My heaviest being a 24-26 after my first daughter in 2002. I lost all the weight I gained through the pregnancy, plus some and got down to a nice looking comfortable 80 kilos size 14-16. I wasnt at that weight for long when we were blessed with twins and in Febuary 07 after their arrival I found myself back up to nearly my heaviest at 101 kilo (size 20-22) (221lbs) This is where my latest journey begins...

I started on my mission to a new me on the 11th June 2007, Ive lost 21 kilos (46 lbs) and 29.5 inches from all over my body! So far so good :)

I set myself 4 goals....

my 1st was to loose 10 kilos ( which I have done, woohoo - go me!) ***
my second is get back to my pre-twin-pregnancy weight of 80 kilos (Which I have also done)***
my 3rd goal when I hit 70 kilos (my reward will be adding to my back tattoo)
my 4th is to reach my ultimate goal weight of 65 kilos (135lbs) ( My reward --- an overseas holiday!!!)

Here are my starting mesurements and current mesurements, I will keep updating them as I progress.

Height - 5ft 4 Inches (163cm)
BMI - 38.2
Starting Weight - 101k (221lbs)
Goal Weight - 65k (135lbs)

Mesurements in Inches
Bust 48.5 (-3.5) = 45
Under Bust 41.5 (-2) = 38.5
Ribs 45 (-5.5) = 39.5
Belly Button 50 (-6) = 44
Hips 49.5 (-4.5) = 45
Inner Thighs 25.5 (-2.5) = 23
Above Knees 21.5 (-2.5) = 19
Calves 16.5 (-1.5) = 15
Arms Biceps 13 (-1.5) = 11.5


According to the home fat body test I have 30.4% body fat.

66.9 lbs of fat and 153.1 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water). So according to that I should be aiming at 153.1 lbs which is 70 kilos (Im aiming at 65)

Heres go nothing...besides my weight !!! :)

Hi Nikerz82, thanks for posting in my diary.

I sure hope i can make it to my goals. I was just reading an email i got that was about making mini goals for myself. So I am thinking about what i want those goals to be. I have always had a question about the whole Kilo vs lbs thing how do you figure that out? like I started this journey at 261 lbs so i was trying to figure out how many kilos that was but can't seem to find a calculation for it. So maybe you can help me on that one. I hope you can make your goals by the time lines you have set for yourself. Good luck and take care. Hope you have a great week.

I always think kilos sounds "nicer" then pounds because you always sound lighter in kilos. Ive done my ticker in lbs so I wouldnt confuse ppl seeing as the majoirty here work in pounds. Ya know what is great about pounds.. when you loose weight it looks heaps better in numbers teehe!

so you would be 119 kilos, sounds much nicer!

So how long till your hubby comes home. I can totally relate to being the at home mum with hubby away, my partner is ex Navy, he spent about 5 months away when our daughter was nearly one, it was awful, she was only pulling herself up on furniture when he left and when he came home not only was she walking, she ran straight past him on the wharf. him getting out what the best thing we ever did.

about your mini goals. really sit down and think about what you want and set yourself a goal, It keeps me focused...and im sure it will you to. Maybe you could buy yourself an outfit size smaller then when it fits you treat yourself to a night out with the girls or stay in a hotel over night with hubby. Maybe treat yourself to a day spa? get a tattoo lol something to say welldone and keep you thriving.

We can do this, this forum is wonderful, its the little peice of gold im so glad I stumbled across, its become my religion to check in here daily, im addicted lol

Well heres a revelation, I weighed myself today, I knew I shouldnt of because Its the special time of the month and Im just an idiot, enough said, no weightloss to report, Even though ive excercised my little butt off!! I wont be discouraged like I noramlly would, I will remain positive that next week it will show up and all will be awesome. Whats strange is my clothes are bigger, I feel skinnier, and my partner even commented im looking "skinny" (so far from it, but god I love him lol)

Today went well, I did my 38 minutes of areobics this morning and then cycled about 8 kilometeres (20mins) normally do 12ks but my bike tyres were a bit flat and the aerobics shagged me lol. ate well, stayed within calorie range, and have drunk around 4 litres of water!

alls well and ends well for a monday.

Im half tempted to take more pics of myself to compare to my starters to see if there is a noticable difference, only problem, is if theres not, its gonna be very discouraging considering my efforts and die hard dedication.

.......hmmmm.........I think i'll wait till I see scales move...
 
Yes so true! and im so happy to see clothes spinning on my waist, Im actually having to wear a belt with my denium shorts, so that shows me alot! Though ..... it will be awesome to see the scales move aswell lol.

Hubby won't be home until the end of April beginning of May 2008. So that's 8 months & 3days till he comes home. My ds was only 3.5 months almost 4 months old when dh got sent to germany but we couldn't go do to health problems. For 2 years then he got stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington and less then 4 months after being there he was told that they were deploying in January and has been gone since then. He was allowed to come home for 2 wks of leave in June but won't be able to come back again until the end of his deployment. So in total he will have been deployed for 15 months to Afghanistan. So he has missed out on a lot of what our son has done but the main thing that i am happy for is he does know who his daddy is and will go to him instead of rejecting him like some people have said might happen.

Well i have quite a few outfits already in my closet that i had bought last year that don't fit me and still have the tags on them so I am working on getting into those cloths first before buying any new ones. I wish I could say in a hotel over night with hubby but seeing as how he's in Afghanistan it would be kinda hard to do that. The day spa thing sounds good I could really use a foot thingy.. lol can't think of what they call it where they have you put your feet in a little spa then scrub them and paint your toes and the getting my nails done again loved doing that before but i stopped cause why make my hands and feet look nice when i have no cofidence or anything like that to go out to a club or someting like that you know. lol and As far as a tattoo well i am kinda afraid of needles but would really like to get one eventually but I think I will stick with henna tats for a while since they don't hurt as much to have done.

Your totally right we can do this and will. This forum is a wonderful place and like you I check in here at least once a day too sometimes more then that as you can see. lol I am addicted to it too.

Holly smokes I didnt realise he was gone for so long!! and heres me whinging about 5 months of seperation, I sincerly feel for you, but you are so lucky that your little boy embraces his daddy and doesnt shy away from him because that was so crushing for Scott, he hates that mikayla never reconised him. Speaking of not recongnising someone, your fellar will have to do a double take of you come 9 months time, you will be completly unreconisable!!, that is so exciting, a great goal amoung many to drive towards.

Oh and I think a pedicure is the word your were searching for....Aren't they just heaven!! Whats even nicer is a paraffin wax on top of that, thats where they coat your foot in a hot wax, wrap them in plastic to set and then peel the wax away, I swear your feet feel like newborns its just awesome.

well im off to bed, had a great day, stayed within my cals, drunk 3 litres or more of water and went to dance areobics for an hour. Suppose I should mention I downed a bottle of wine at the tuperware party after dancing, but im sure the dancing counteracted the wine... lol...

Hello Nik, Don't feel bad about it, you didn't know. Alot of people don't realize how long dh has been away when they ask about him. i'm like i don't know I haven't seen him in so and so months and they are like are you guys getting divorced? i'm like no he's deployed and they are like on i'm so sorry.. its annoying. anyways keep up the good work on the food and getting in some exercise.
 
Hi there, how ya doing today?

Ive been so slack, done absolutly nothin, no excercise at all, I pushed myself to the limit yesterday, and Im sore as hell today, aswell as feeling generally tired, larfargic and so glad my crappy time of the month is over, its been going for nearly 3 weeks, very unusual, almost concerning, but has finally ended and today im feeling so drained from it. been good otherwise, eaten well, so gotta give myself credit for that.
anyways im having a really early night, Even though ive napped today for some reason im still buggered, I think I might need to start taking a multi vitamin...Im very flat today.

anyways I see your ticker is progressing... good work girly your on fire!!

Hey nik, I'm doing good. I'm tired right now but then i did do 6 hours of moving and rearranging heavy funiture so that i could get my room the way i wanted it. Plus i am going to be doing 30 minutes of weights soon as my son goes to bed.

Thanks for saying i'm on fire with the workouts.. lol i really don't feel like i have been doing as much as i can do so i'm trying to really step it up but with dealing with a 3 year old all day long its kinda hard to really push yourself but i'm going to try for sure. anyways, hope you get some rest and have a great day tomorrow too :jump: Keep up the great work on your eating
 
Hey Nik, how are you doing? I haven't seen you around in a while so i thought i would drop by and see how things were going on your end. Things got really intense last week with problems that dh is having so now things are kinda up in the air as far as military stuff but we should know soon as to where things stand for a little while. he has a plan though about things and knows what he wants to do once he gets out of the army so thats a good thing if things don't work out the way we had planned. anyways hope things are going well for you. talk to you soon.
 
Hi Stranger sorry to hear hubbys been having dramas its hard when your here and hes there, you feel so helpless. I hope everything sorts out for you. Ive had major computer complications, Been down for weeks, we live in a rural area so getting a technician was near on impossible and it had to be sent away so i feel like Ive been locked away from the world forever. Im Sorry to just up and leave everyone like that you all proberly thought I was soo rude, I felt rude, especially after putting myself down for the team challenge, I hope I didnt let anyone down.

Finally 85 kilos (35 lbs lost) what a slow slug its been getting there... the last 3 kilos have been so hard to get rid of, so needless to say its been a really slow month, In the end a shake up of routine is what got me past.

Ive now got an even bigger more exciting incentive to get me more serious, My mum is coming at Christmas time! its confirmed! she has even booked her flight and I cant wait to see her face drop :eek2: she hasnt seen me since I started loosing weight so she will already notice a difference but with 11 weeks to Xmas hopefully I can loose alot more to really make her spin out! :jump:


I orderd a Leg Master the other day. I have heard these are fantastic for the inner/outter thigh, bum and lower abdominal area, all my trouble spots so Im hoping with something targeted to help these areas I will see some results
 
Another half a kilo gone, nothing to rave about but better then nothing! My Leg master still hasn't arrived, apparently due to high deman the shipment hasnt released and wont be here till the 7th of november so that blows! On the pos side, I have only 3.5 kilos to go until Im at my pre-twin-pregnancy weight!! Im so prouda moi and what i've accomplished so far, It took me years to loose weight and look good after having my first baby and this time round Ive got my sh!t together and got the job done and in a good healthy time frame :) Still 18.5 kilos away from my ultimate goal weight. So I look at this as my half way point and for half way I aint looking bad so its very motivating to see how much better I can look.
Gotta say Ive been awesome with my calories and fat intake, and even managed to go out for tea and splurge without setting myself back. Now I just gotta get my unmotivated butt outta bed and around the block in the mornings.

I'm not sure exactly where his auntie lives--I've never been to Perth. I know she's a bit in the country b/c she has horses.

My secret? I work out religiously (strength training and cardio) and eat sensibly (although today wasn't very sensible..lol).:rolleyes:
 
See thats where im not so good. I go through phases of excercising..i'll go hardcore and everyday like an addict, but once I stop for a day, two days a week whatever, it takes me so long to re-motivate myself to go. On the days I dont go, I always make an extra effort to eat extra healthy and drink alot more water...I guess its my way of making me feel less guilty for not excercising. lol
 
OMG I can hardly beleive it but ...... I Just did my mesurements and Ive lost another 10 Inches all over!! wooohooooo happy happy joy joy!! :)
