Hey T2!

Yeah, 2:05 was pretty short... But I heard this video was chopped down because David and the others kept looking at each other and burst out laughing!!!

- So... I'm gonna try and diet and excersize hard until my old granny and aunt come to visit. They hate my diet and will want to stuff me full of carbs... So I will resist them as much as I can, but with her... resistance is futile... LOL! But even with my slackin' I haven't gained any more weight... But It's time to start losin' more! Just had my senior pictures today and thought "Oh poo. I'm fat in my senior pictures!" But agh, they are pro's they better make me look like Nicole Richie.

Anyway, I was planning on going to a Porcupine Show this Oct. But I can't go now because my old granny and aunt are coming and we have to stay here!!!!! I was very ticked when I found out, but a friend of mine is going, and she is going to tell Richard Barbieri about my Japan site! (He was the synth player in Japan!) And she said she is going to get a kiss from him for me :-D :-D

But anyway, I hope you are having a swell hump day... Ciao!

Hello everyon!

Before everyone starts throwin' things at me... I want to just say that I'm sorry I haven't been on here for so long! I kind of stopped caring about my weight about this time last year. The reason... I got a boyfriend.

However, I've changed my mind now and want to try to lose weight again. I'm still with my boyfriend, and very happy to be with him. He thinks I'm beautiful and doesn't think I should change a thing. I guess my main motivation is that I've seen myself in pictures lately and it's ghastly.

Right now, because of my current situation I can't really watch my eating as well as I'd like... (I'm living with my boyfriend and his family in Northern Minnesota at the moment) But I'm going to be moving back home in a month. Then, I would really like to start my new plan...

I've decided to give old Atkins the boot... Sorry, Atkins... I just can't eat another bite of steak again because of you, but it's ok... I think this time I'm just going to try something that Atkins did NOT support, which is the Low-Fat/Low-Cal way. Is this a bad idea?

Most of the foods that are low-fat I don't mind eating. I was never a fan of plain MEAT but I do like whole-grain breads, yogurts, and fruits and that sort of thing. I think before I jump into the whole 'diet' thing though... I'm going to start excersizing first. ... I find when I divebomb into the whole diet/excersize thing, I get discouraged very quickly.

I've also decided to do outdoor excersizing... No more treadmills, stationary bikes, or ellipticals (Unless it's raining) I want to go on bikerides, and shoot hoops, and play with my little brother and that sort of thing. I want to know... Do you think this is a good idea also? I've read in some places that stationary bikes and treadmills are more strenuous and give better/faster results... But then again, faster results are not what I'm going for right now. I'm trying to go for a slower approach now instead of the whole Atkins crash thing... I want to be able to enjoy what I eat and enjoy how I excersize and lose weight while doing it.

Well, I just wanted to pop in a dust off this old diary... I'll still post in here during this month, but when I get back home that's when this whole new approach will really be put to the test...

Hi T2 Trucker! I know it's been a long time since I left... It may not have been a whole year and a half, but I'm sure it was over a year! I feel bad about it. But this doesn't mean that the 80's are gone! I have all white hair now--wahoo!

Anyhoo... Since this is my diary, I figure I'd make a post. I recently saw the 'Fear of Thin' post... And I figured I didn't want to ressurect an old topic, so I'd post my reasons in here... Reasons of why I secretly may be wanting to be fat! (Or at least why I may not want to be thin) ... Here goes nothing!

... I'm worried that I would be seen as an uptight chick. Let's face it, Fat people usually seem more fun, carefree, and friendly. Skinny chicks usually seem high strung and shallow. I don't want to be seen like that.

... I'm worried I wouldn't be able to afford new clothes. lol, it's dumb but it's true!

... I'm worried that in order to get thin, I would have to be more social (Going outside biking and all) I am not a social person at all (It's just in my nature) And I'd rather keep to myself.

... I'm worried that my family would feel like I'm a health nut. Health nuts annoy me and I don't want to take them away from the foods they love, however it's hard to diet when they are eating those foods.

... I don't want people to see me excersizing.

... I'm worried that all of the fatty/sugary/carby foods I love I will never get to eat again unless in tiny doses.

... It's easier to eat what you want than to measure everything.

... I'm worried creepy guys might approach me if I were thin, or any guys at that matter.

... I'm worried that I still won't be happy with myself after all of that hard work.

... I'm worried about putting all the weight back on and the hard work would be for nothing!

... I'm worried I would discourage my boyfriend (who is an amatuer chef) from cooking the foods he loves to cook.

... I'm worried that when heavier people see me on the streets, or in the parking lots that they will be jealous. :(

And that's about it... But I thought hard, and those are my honest answers. Believe me, I would love to be thin, and will try to be thin... But I could see how these worries could slow me up.

'ello!

Just stopping in on this beautiful Friday morning. I went on my first full bikeride yesterday; it was about a 4 or 5 mile one! It sounds long, but... Is that really long for a bikeride? I got out of breath, anyway...

I might go for one this morning before my boyfriend gets out of work. He just switched jobs today at his job... He went from a machine tester to an Optical Technition! He's a bit bummed since he actually has to do a lot of work and concentrating now instead of, as he put it, 'dinkin on the computer 95% of the time...' Oh well... Only for another month, then he's coming back home with me!

Anyway... About the bikeride. This is something I could see myself doing every day! Even in the winter! (Since I was bikeriding up here in 45 degrees, and that's average winter temp. back home) I'm also riding a 700 dollar bike! 0_0 Mine was about 75 dollars, and boy I tell ya you can feel a HUGE difference! Monster hills are so easy to tackle with this thing... Not TOO easy, mind you, but easy enough to motivate me to keep going. And this is GOOD because when I go back home, well, there are a lot of big hills there. I think when I get back home and get a job, I'm going to invest in a really good road bike! This is where I need your help... The one I'm riding now is a 15 year old KHD or KHX or something like that. I highly doubt they make those now. So, if not, I'd like to ask everyone out there what a really good road bike is I should get, and the price. Just to know in the future!

So yeah, that's all I've got to say for now... I think I'm going to start some laundry!

It's long when you're starting out from scratch. Stay with it and 5 miles will be nothing. You'll be very proud of the results biking can bring. It's been a godsend to me on many different levels.

I hope you get bit by the bug, too. What a great exercise !! Cardio City :)
 
Thanks for the reply, T2!! I just did it again today and I hyperventalated when I got home... Lol. *Wimp stamp* My boyfriend was worried about me and tried the best he could to get me breathing normal again.

Did the bike help you a lot, T2? I'm trying to find out as much about biking as I can. (I recently PM'ed Wishes about this!) Tomorrow we may go down to St. Paul and do some biking on the River... Sounds fun! Plus we can take breaks when I get too winded.

Thanks for reading, T2! Also, do you have any before/after pics of yourself? I don't believe I have ever seen them!

WoW on the respiration malfunction !! You do a mad sprint on the final lap or what ?? Careful, youngin' - PLEASE !! Small (daily) steps, if needed.

It helped me a ton, honestly and here's why:

Even walking beats up the body (at my age) over an extended period and that's all I was doing. I was getting rather bored with it, too.

Biking allowed me to increase my calories. I was burning mad cals on my riding days so I gave myself a lil more wiggle room. A lil extra food is a nice thing in our biz :)

I built up muscle quicker. More muscle = less fat :)

It was interesting. I love my outdoor exercises. Biking is the shizz for that.

Cardio increase vs. walking is huge. More cals burned in the process !!

Hey T2!

Sorry I haven't posted in the past few days... On Sunday my boyfriend and his dad took me out on a 9 mile bikeride! It was really long and there were a few hills... But at the very end I had to ride up a hill they nicknamed 'the brown b*tch'... I can see why it has that name!!! Even with my speed set at 1-1 I was only able to make it halfway up. I walked my bike the rest of the way up and I hyperventalated again! They told me I didn't have to ride up the hill, but I still tried just to see how high I could get. Matt and his dad were starting to get really worried about me when I was breathing so fast and heavy. ... When I told my mom about the bikeride that night she was very very angry with my boyfriend and his dad. I didn't think it was their fault at all, though.

I didn't go on a bikeride yesterday just because it was too freaking cold and I wanted to get a chance to let my butt-bones heal. ... I didn't go for a bikeride today either because it's in the low 30's right now, but I did go on a short walk!

Tomorrow it's supposed to get up to 50, so hopefully I can get back on the ball!

I've also been trying to eat healthier meals during the day, too... Even though I told myself I wouldn't start dieting until I got home, but I figure, what the hey--If I can, I should! Unfortunately I can't choose my suppers because I live with my boyfriend's parents but that's ok! Here's what I had today:

Breakfast:
- 1 peanut butter cookie
- 1 cup of oatmeal cooked in vanilla soy milk and flavored with a few white chocolate chips
- A glass of OJ

Lunch
- 2 pieces of turkey on a Thomas' everyhing bagel with a little bit of light mayo
- A glass of instant (sugar free) rasberry tea

Supper (Haven't eaten yet)
- Taco Hotdish
(Pretty much a dish baked in the oven with rice, cheese, beans, chips, and taco meat)

... I know it's not the healthiest day of meals in the world... But not the unhealthiest either! I'm trying now to have good lunches, and just eat what I get for supper.

Does my breakfast/lunch seem healthy should I add/cut anything?

While i'm a strong supporter fo the noble cookie being it's own food group - as a breakfast food -well - there are better choices...

The oatmeal in soymilk sounds pretty good - even with the white choclate chips (some cinnamon might help that out some as well...

OJ - i'd read labels on - some are sugar sweetened - if it's straight OJ or even from concentrate than enjoy it - in moderation -but I don't like drinking my calories so juice can pack on the calories without giving a lot of satisfaction - a real orange would have provided fiber.

Turkey on a bagel is a fine choice - try it with mustard for some flavor punch and minimal calories instead of the mayo if you want a change - other than that -i'd probably suggest opting for higher fiber bread rather than white bread... but that's personal preference...

but all in all ya did great :)

The cookie... I wasn't really planning on having. I had it about an hour before I ate breakfast before I was actually going to attempt a healthy one... I just included it anyway hehe.

As for lunch, I'm not the biggest fan of fat free mayo and stuff... So perhaps you're right to just not have it at all. I love mustart and I think that's a great choice!

When I get home I'll definitely be getting more whole-weat breads for sure! I love pumpernickle... Is that OK?

I had a big ol' glob of the hotdish for supper though, but I'll be working that off while the guys watch the game tonight on the excersize bike.

Right now, I'm making a long list of foods that I'm going to try and get when I get back home. ... Two foods I'm not sure about, though, are quinuoa and tofu. ... Sometimes I like to make a bowl of it but I have no clue if it's bad/good (It sounds good, but who knows?) if anyone is familiar with the stuff, I'd love to know what the calorie content of it is! (Already tried looking it up online... Couldn't find it!)

I was just looking at the name of this diary and LOL is it stupid. First of all, cause I returned to the point of no return, and secondly... It just sounds stupid.

I remember about 2 or 3 days after I created it I wish I would have named it "Diary of a mad, fat woman" but what can you do. That's stupid too. The good ones are taken.

Anyway, enough of that... Tomorrow, I drive.

800 miles to be exact. Actually, a little over that. The past month and a half, I haven't been eating my very best, but I got a goot bit of bikeriding in. Sometimes going 9 miles a day. For a while I'd do a short ride in the morning, and a longer one in the afternoon with my beaux. Unfoturnately, the last 2 weeks have been dedicated to packing my crap, and my boyfriends crap, because he's moving back home WITH me! :-D

His parents have jerked us (me) around enough with one-month extensions, delays, and even flat out STALLS but nothing is stopping us. Tomorrow I finally get out of here!!

I know I sound desperate to leave, well I am. I don't have the Twin Cities, I'm just a round peg in a square hole in them. I prefer the small towns up here much better than the cities. This place is just too cold, dreary, industrial and compact for me. I need to go home! 4 months was enough, but then I had to go an extra month after that! (grrr!) There were a lot of hard times, tough times, horrible times (bad situations up here I did NOT want to be in the middle of) but, my boyfriend gave me the puppy dog eyes just good enough, I guess because I stayed. And I got cabin fever.

I AM SO HAPPY TO GO HOME. When I go home, I am NOT going to diet... At first. I'm going to relax, drink some sweet tea and go to my favorite places. Not to mention my beaux is making a 9 course meal for my family and I the weekend after this one, and I am very much looking forward it it, and appreciate the hard work he's going to put into it.

I'll start dieting after the big meal because A) I'll probably never want to look at food again after it, and that's the perfect mindset! and B) Because it's time. A date set around June 9th is what I'm aiming for... Then, no more Ramens, no more Coke, no more Pizza no more Cookies... Well, at least, not much of them.

My grandparents always went on a huge food-splurge the week before going on any diet because A) They would eat up all non-diet food in the house so as it would not go to waste and B) To enjoy the good stuff when ya still can! ... Might not sound like the best idea, but they DID lose a lot of weight when they'd diet.

Anyway, I'm stoked for this trip tomorrow. So what if it's 15 hours? I'm ready! His parents want to do the whole thing in one day (And the also don't trust me to drive any of their vehicles!) which means that one of them will have to drive the whole way. Ha! That's what they get for not trusting me! I would have been happy to drive. :p

Anyway I've got a lot of gifts for the family (especially my bro) when I get back... I can't wait to see them again, I miss them so much! It's hard to be completely excited when the beaux is morbidly depressed (About leaving his parents) But hopefully he'll have a better time in my home than I did in his. (I can guarantee it...)

Sorry to ramble.... I have a major lack of sleep, food, and sanity right now (cabin fever) and I'm also really happy.

MY FIRST REAL OFFICIAL DAY!

Hello, all!

The past month and a half I have lost my 6 lbs from simply eating less. (Instead of 5 pieces of pizza--Just have 3) But I have finally been able to talk my dad into getting healthy food and starting it with me. Yesterday we went out and bought a ton of stuff for our first official day. I am going to post my menu here... All comments and criticisms are welcome! Please tell me if I am doing anything wrong or out of the ordinary...

Before Breakfast: 5 minutes on the elliptical

Breakfast:
1 yogurt - 60 cals
1 Special K bar - 90
1 Banana - 110

Walked 1 Mile after Breakfast.

Lunch:
1 English Muffin - 100
4 Strawberries - 28
1 Hard Boiled Egg - 70
1 Bit of Butter - 50 (esitmation)

25 minutes on Elliptical after lunch

Snack:
3/4 cup Special K - 110
1/2 cup Light Silk - 40

Took a dip in the old above ground pool after snack.

Supper:
2 small lean top sirloin steaks - 500 (estimation)
Seasoned Butter - 100 (estimation)
Small Salad - 50 (estimation)
Dressing - 40 (estimation)

Total = 1,348

BEVERAGES:
Diet Green Tea (2 cups)
Water (6 cups)

I'm pretty sure my estimations are accurate. I know a lot of people do 'wishful' thinking and accidently don't assume enough. I avoided that as best I could! :)

How did my day sound so far?

Also... I'm still quite hungry so I'm gonna grab a special K bar.... Add 90 calories to that!
