New guy here, my ongoing fight!

Thanks plb, i know i will get there soon, but sometimes soon just cant come fast enough! I just got done reading Frogged blog like someone suggested, and man that guy is incredible, check out his thread if you havnt already!

Had another great night of baseball last night, things are chuggin right along, My eating has been good this week, i need to step up my excersize but overall im happy with my progress so far.

Ok been a few weeks since ive updated, my most recent weigh in i was at 201.5!! Just 1.5 lbs from my first goal which is to get under 200, then im shooting for 190 (which i anticipate will take a couple months). Just got done running and i ran 2 miles in 14:37 which is my fastest time yet! Everything is going good!

today: did not run on lunch because its to cold outside, but i continue my soda boycott, so that means lots and lots of water water water water water!!! However i no longer have any craving for soda whatsoever, which is an odd feeling considering i used to think i couldnt live without it. Hoping to be under 200 for my next weigh in. We shall see..........

just a thought as i sit hear sipping water at work, first i dont know if anyone reads this or not but if you do, thanks for staying with me, now to the point, when i started this whole thing i looked to the people in the forums, diaries and before and after for inspiration, motivation, and it really helped, however in the last few weeks ive noticed a change in my thinking, ive started to look more towards myself for motivation, then towards outside influences. Dont get me wrong, everybodys posts and pics are still helpfull especially when i have an off day, but im to the point now where i can see the improvement (i felt the improvement very early on, but now im really seeing it) and looking in the mirror is alot less painfull than it used to be, almost fun! I have figured out my limits as far as what i feel comfortable eating and what i need to stay away from, as well as how i excersize and when and for how long. I have to say this is a pretty awesome state of mind to be in, and something i can honestly say i have never experienced. I truly believe i can do it now, whereas before there was always that self doubt, the what if i fail, or regress. I am still human and i still have not had the level of success that many of you enjoy here, but i feel like for the first time EVER i am on the right path, not some fad diet or quick fix, but a truly life changing path that i am capable of maintaining. Its a good day to be alive!

Hey man thanks, that means alot coming from someone who has been there like yourself, i read your thread from start to finish and i can honestly say i came away amazed, your story is one of the ones that made me truly believe it is possible. Its pretty wild how a complete stranger, someone youve never talked to can inspire you to change yourself. I know thats the exact reason we have forums like these but it is still something to be admired. Keep makin the magic happen bro.

Hey Matt, great job on getting so close to your goal weight! I think that's great that you've now found a way to find motivation within yourself - that's what will keep you going for the long haul!

Thanks guys, i have a question, i have been running 3-4 miles a day everyday for a couple weeks now, and the weight is melting off, however i have this damn rash on the inside of my thigh that is really bothering me and hindering my running, anyone know of some good ways to prevent this?

This might get into the too much information zone, but what type of underwear do you wear while running? You might want to consider something more like tighter fitting boxer-briefs or even compression shorts so that the skin of your thighs won't touch. If you wear boxers already, keep in mind that looser fitting underwear can constantly rub against the skin while you run. There are probably creams or ointments that you could get to get rid of the rash, but I think that prevention is key :) Also, make sure that you change your underwear and/or shower as soon as you can after exercise so that moisture and bacteria don't sit around in that area for any longer than necessary... definitely getting into TMI territory...

Well been a little bit, but im still going strong weight as of last weigh in was 193.5. Hoping to be to 185 in a month. We shall see!

Ok so as of last weigh in i was down to 188.5, which is great, i have continued running and feel good about it, i do however feel like i have it a small plateau, where my wieght is hovering, but i know this is expected so i am going to push thru this one, but i must admit it can be a bit demoralizing. Ok no more boo hooing, i will get past this!

You're so close to your goal! Nice work! Just be patient, you'll get to 185 in no time!

Have you adjusted your calorie intake or amount of exercise at all?
