~* My Tutti Frutti Progress Thread *~

Tutti!!! You are doing GREAT!! :D!! I like your food logging and you can do this!!! I also like how your goal on your ticker isn't that far away ;)!!! That's what I'm talking about!! :D!!!

...Gravy? Do you mean dressing? ...I guess it sounds weird, cause gravy is just used for like mashed potatos usually and has tons of calories to it. Who knows, may be called something else. :) As long as it's portioned right, then it can't be that bad.

Great job getting back to working out,...and for SMASHING 2 lbs this week!!:cheers2:!!! Great JOB!!!! :D!

Nope, that's exactly what I mean by gravy. It does have cals in it but I make it up weak and don't add too much :) otherwise the veg is just too plain on it's own!!

Thanks, I'm happy with the -2lb but want to see another lb or two gone this week. :) x

Edit: I checked on the packet, and the gravy is 15 cals and 0.6g fat per each portion I make up/put on meal, so not too bad :)

Hey that's not bad at all!! ;)!!! Good Choice!! :D! Especially if you like it and it get's the veggies down! :)

Sorry I haven't been on the last couple days, had a nasty flu!

Anyhow, I haven't heard of bubble and squeak either! It does sound kinda dirty ;) lol.... For us we just call it a stir fry, lol.

Hey Risty,

Good to see you're feeling better now :) We have stir fry here too, the difference is, to me, that a stir fry is like chinese food and contains bean shoots, noodles etc... bubble and squeak is carrots n cabbage and potatoes etc! Leftovers from a cooked dinner.

Well I stepped on the scales today and saw 192.4 :D so I'm happy this morning! (I am reminding myself some of it might not really be lost and it might go up again slightly but even if it does, it's probably safe to say I'm down to 193).

So far then, a total loss of 3.6lbs... with 10.4lbs still to lose to reach my first mini goal.

What with the ok progress so far and finally feeling better in myself (not hungry all the time, and just feel healthier) I am feeling pretty well motivated now. :) x

Yay! You're doing so well! And good job on tracking what you eat! That helps you so much when you realize just how much you are consuming in a day! Also, about the sodas, I used to drink coke all the time, but I quit by replacing that bubbly/fizzy feeling by drinking club soda instead. Not as good of course, but it did help me quit.

Good luck! I'll check back on you!
Thanks :) I actually fell back on my efforts with the pepsi yesterday and opened a bottle - frankly, I wished I hadn't. Straight away I was burping and felt full and bloated... didn't realise just how rubbish it makes you feel before!! I'm actually doing quote well on the drinks front, as I've been drinking glasses of water yesterday and today, I hate water but making myself do it and I think I'm growing used to it now. I hope to be almost totally on water in the end, (as opposed to the low-sugar squash I currently live on) and I'm sure it will help with the weightloss.

Quite a good day today - drank some water, although I think my cals ended up quite high today.

My aim for tomorrow is to use a smaller plate for dinner, in order to curb those portions! :)

Today's Menu:

BREAKFAST: Small bowl of Crunchy Nut cereal, with skimmed milk.

LUNCH: Home-made pea soup, with crusty bread (naughty...! 362cals, 2.0g fat)

DINNER: Pasta bake, with peppers, mushrooms, sweetcorn and salad.

SNACKS: 1x pear, and some grilled potato chunks (202 cals, 0.4g fat)

DRINKS: Low-sugar squash, and water! :hurray:

You know, I really hate running, but I think because I've always been terrible at it that's why I really hate it. So I figured if I learned to run it would be a huge accomplishment and then maybe it would help me hate it less!

Not only that but learning to run would help out with just regular sports like paintball, lazer tag, etc etc where you do bursts of running. So practicing my running will help me in those kind of activities too. Not that I do those activities much, but my husband loves to paintball and I think I would actually go if I could move around better! I went once and sprained my ankle.... lol.

Oh, on the water note... I used to hate water too! I'm picky about my water, like, it has to be cold for me to drink it! But at least I drink it now, whereas before, there'd be no way. So you definitely get used to it and then even crave it sometimes! So good job on cutting down on the pop and increasing your water intake. That'll help SO much, just cutting down on those empty calories from sugary drinks.

Great effort! The food all looks really good, nice and balanced. And huge kudos to you for drinking more water! I know I never used to get nearly enough water, but I just keep waterbottles at my job, in my car, next to my computer; trying to keep them in arms length. I also use non-sugar sweetners like crystal light to help me get my water in daily.

Hope all is well Tutti! :seeya:

I'm not sure if they sell it in England but Crystal Light has some great flavors to add to water when you are craving something with flavor. It's not as bad for you as soda and tends to satisfy me more than water at times.

I love Crystal Light too! I love the Raspberry Ice, Cherry Pommegranate, Tangerine, Lemon Lime... yeah those are my fav's.

On that note though I have a question. I heard if you change the water, by say making into juice then it doesn't count as drinking water at all. I heard that tea can count as water (I don't know if it has to be herbal or not, decaf or not, I don't know). So I just wonder if by adding Crystal Light, if it still counts the same as if you were drinking just water.

Anyone else hear that kinda stuff?

Tea and coffee counts as drinking water :) Just cut back on using sugar and full fat milk! The low-fat squash is a really good idea! I've been alternating between that and a glass of water to try and wean myself off it, but it's just too damn good!

And all your food sounds YUM!

Hey, thanks for the posts guys, unfortunately I don't think they sell that here but I'm managing to drink a little on its own now :) drank a 500ml bottle today!! I'm just aiming to try drink a glass or so each day, and otherwise allowing myself weak squash.

Today I switched to a small plate for dinner today so that my portions are smaller, and managed to keep the snacking to a minimum. :)

And tonight I did my step class... definately felt the hard work kicking in having been away for a few weeks  but it feels good to have got it done.

All in all a good day, I thought! x

Today's Menu:

BREAKFAST: Small bowl of Crunchy Nut cereal with skimmed milk

LUNCH: Bowl of homemade pea soup with 4x crackers

DINNER: Plate of veg with gravy

DRINKS: 500mls water (!!), 200mls Mango Juice (118cals) and low-sugar squash.

SNACKS: 1x Special K Bar (84cals, 1.5g fat)

Hello Tutti-Frutti...

I just noticed you weight loss diary and thought I would pop in. You sound like you are doing awesome. Congrats on the weight loss so far...and you sound like you are going to reach those goals in no time at all. You seem really positive and nice, so I thought I would drop a line...

My weight loss goal right now is forty pounds, but I want to get down to 240 pounds. Would love to be in the 100s, but that will come in due time.

Your menu seems so good. I think its wonderful your really trying to bring about change... Keep it up ..doing good ...

Keep trecking ...

Will check in again ...

Using a small plate is a great way to keep portions small! Good job on the workout too :)

Thanks Risty... I'm feeling the workout this morning :jump: ...been waddling round the house like some sort of penguin!

Lol thanks, I really haven't done anything very impressive so far... just a few lbs lost, but gradually I've made a good few changes to my lifestyle and diet. :)

Babysteps, as they say! :D It's the way to go.

You will get there eventually - it's good that you've set yourself a short-term goal of 40lbs, I'm not even looking that far, but just taking it a stone at a time!

Anyway thanks for stopping by, I've checked out your diary x

Tutti Frutti, you are doing great!! Keep up the good work.

I'm also just taking one kilogram at a time!! The best way because 25kg seems soooo far.

Happy loosing:waving:
