Good work too on resisting the greek-bread & the chocolate urge.....
...for chocolate - I have a bag of little 5gram individual wrapped squares - it's 72% cocoa - fairly dark , fairly intense taste...I find that 1 square( approx 30 cals) is enuf to statisfy, but the bitterness is strong enuf to keep me at being happy enuf with just 1 square.

So over the weekend we went out to family having supper with them. Friday my sis-in-law made THE most devine curry and I resisted and had my meat and salad - with no sauce and last night at my brother-in-law they got McDonalds, I was soooooo tempted eating some fries as I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE McD's fries buuuuut I was good and had my patties(meat inside the burger) and Coke zero. URGH!! Sometimes dieting just sucks! But I did this to myself and I have to suck it up now.

I promised myself that this year I'm taking back control of what goes into my mouth and keep reminding myself "EAT TO LIVE, DONT LIVE TO EAT"

Exercise....now still failing to get on that treadmill. However the weight is dropping.

CW 98.7kg (217lb)
Weightloss 7.2kg (15.8lbs)

and - YES YES YES - on resisting those fries ....anything deep-fried is just loads of calories added, with no nutrient/health value - just BAD 4 U !...so proud that you resisted.... a few folks on-here ( including myself) - just make it a habit to AlwaYs avoid anything deep-fried - ... it's calorie loaded... we are "hooked on the taste"...but don't think about the consequences....
.. french fries ( oil-fat + salt) - soooo Bad - bad for weight(calories) , bad for blood-pressure(Salt) & bad for heart(cholesterol)...

so GOOD 4 U gal !

keep it going on your road to healthy- 1 step at a time .

Going great guns mands.:hurray: I might have a look at converting to pounds too lol. Being Aussie I've grown up with kg. but you're right pounds do sound bigger and better!!
 
Totally forgot to write in my diary but I wrote in everybody elses. :iamwithstupid:

Weight loss is going very slowly only 100g and 200g loss per day - but hey I'll take any loss!

The last 2 days have been raining and been very cold, so I was just curled up on the couch with my blanky & movies. But I did springclean the last 2 days for about 3 hours each - which build up a good sweat.

Been spending my time on marketing our photography and managed to book 6 weddings in 3 days - that's so awesome!

All I need now is for this body to be up and running, thin and fit and ready to rock and roll!!

Justina we are wedding photographers in Cyprus - the island of love :). Where are you thinking of getting married?
 
Looked at some pix of me from a couple of years ago and it is like another person sitting here today. I've completely transformed and not in a good way. I even told my husband yesterday that if the Mands from pre-2008 has to time travel to 2013 she will have a stroke when she sees herself in this body.

It's amazing how tragedy can just throw your whole life off track. My mom's death was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with and that event completely changed my eating habits and emotions. Then when I started regaining control of my eating habits my doggy of 14 years dies - and a year later after moving countries and re-starting our business my other doggy of 15 year dies. WOW!!! Being an emotional eater you can imagine how my emotions just dictated what I put into my mouth, sweets and sweets and sweets. I'm not a big food eater but chocolates is my worst enemy.

But I decided NO MORE!!! I'm a strong, positive woman and I will control what I do to my body. I control what I put in my mouth. This year the old Mands is coming back! When I'm 50 one day I wanna look back on my life and be proud of how I looked after my health - not be ashamed(like now) what I have done to myself and be shy when we walk in the streets and you feel so self conscious about your body when you see thinner people.

2013 is gonna be my come back year!!:party:
 
Omg. So many tragedies.:( I think you've done well to stay as strong as you are and come back from it so well.
2013 is your year and I'm hoping it's mine too. Been on this roller coaster way too long.
 
I understand about the tragedies causing disruption. My Dad passed away in September. He was older, but had been very healthy. He succumbed to bone cancer only months after being diagnosed... 4 months to be exact. In his final weeks, we talked and I made a promise to him I would lose weight and regain my health. I started at the beginning of the year and won't quit.

Great job getting this under control while you're young, Mands. Time passes quickly.
 
Hey sweetie - very inspirational what you wrote. If my 2011 self could have seen me now - defo would have slapped me...
But the truth is that we went through bad times and it affected us. :hug2:
We just have to learn from it & from now on try to deal with whatever life throws at us in a different way. Instead of eating out fridge, maybe go to the gym, or take up boxing!!!

absolutely 2013 - bring it on!!!:hurray:
