My slimming journey

Whoah! I think you have plenty of distractions. Go Mands!! There's no stopping you by the sound of it! xoxoCate

WOW! It has been a year and 9 months since my last post....Ive just sat here and read through all my previous entries. What a rollercoaster ride it has been the last 2 years.

2012 was a HUGE year for us. We moved countries, launched our photography business in a new country where nobody knows us, my baby Cheeky passed away(15 yr old Chihuahua). A year filled with so many ups & downs, many challenges & adventures.

Now I'm ready to begin my new chapter on the 2nd day of a brand new year. The year I vowed to become a brand new, better me.

So day 1 of Cohens started off with a scrambled egg, mushrooms, green pepper, tomato & onion. First day on a journey to drop 40kg!

Will jump on the treadmill for about 10 minutes later on and just keep focusing on the goal!

Hope to reconnect with old friends on here again as I'm definitely gonna need the support of all you lovely dieters on here!

Happy losing!!:seeya:

So today I weighed and I'm now 101.2kg(223lb). Somehow my weight loss is slowing down in the second week as in the first week I lost 4.1kg(9.03lb):hurray: So I'm starting to think what am I doing wrong?

And then I remembered the one night I added cheese to my meat - which on Cohen's is not allowed. But I can't believe that a piece of cheese will completely slow down my weight loss.

Struggled the last 3 days with my craving for bread. Its winter now and I love hot bread in winter. But I resisted temptation and still going strong.

Haven't started exercising as yet as I'm really too cold ....but I know I have to get my butt in gear and get on that treadmill.

What keeps me motivated is photos of me over Christmas - can't believe I let myself go so bad. But I'm looking foward and staying positive for this journey.

Happy losing!

I am not on Cohens but I have banned both bread and cheese... They are absolutely yummy but I gain weight every time I have either...

Stay strong! You can do it.

Hey Omega - i know the feeling! I absolutely love bread but also gain weight immediately if I eat bread. Luckily one Cohens I can eat Mozarella so I get my cheese fix.

Weighed today and lost another 400g - going well. Hopefully by May I would have dropped my 20kg and by October my ultimate goal of 40kg.

Will stay strong and just picture the thinner, healthier me!!

Happy losing!!

Well done on today's weight loss. Keep focused and you will hit your targets and make your weight loss dreams come true... We are both within reach of our goal and get healthier every day.

Your lucky - I cannot have mozarella or anything... (unless I resign myself to an inevitable gain)...

I sometimes seem ok with cottage cheese and quark but then sometimes I get a jump and think - well you did have cheese so I tend to stay off everything.

Thank goodness for 0% yoghurt. I can eat that ok... That is what I get my fix from...

I discovered the bread and cheese thing back in 2007 when I treated weight loss as a scientific experiment and carefully noted everything about my project and noticed the gains every time... LOL I was keeping records of everything from weight to food items to toilet habits and learnt a lot about myself that way... It is funny how we can go through life and not notice things about the things that we do naturally...

Take care

Weighed today and dropped another 500g - booya!!:hurray: Total loss so far 5.7kg

Was so proud of myself last nite- we went to family and there was some fried chips and lovely Greek bread with homemade jam - my absolute favourite!! But I stayed strong, had my chicken & salad that I took with for supper and just watched my hubby eating away on the lovely bread. I felt so powerful and so in control of my feelings and actions. I showed the "fat" monster who's boss:cool:

Feeling very tired today and cooooold. Had a delicious breakfast with egg, mushroom, onion, tomato & green pepper. YUMM!

I can visualise a thinner me and a summer where I will be more confident and not so shy about my body.

I can do it, I can do it, I WILL do it!!

Happy losing!

Got on the scale and lost 400g. So total loss 6.1kg.

Today was a bit of a off day for me. Missed my family & friends back home and was soooo tempted to eat a chocolate. But I managed NOT to which I found very difficult in the past.

I'm overweight because I'm an emotional eater. When emotions run low or too high - I used to always try make it better with a chocolate. So to resist any urge for chocolates is a HUGE deal for me.

I managed to only get 2 meals in today as I had to get blood tests today with an empty stomach, so I ended up having my breakfast at like 12h30 and then we had visitors and then I only had lunch/supper at 18h00. So not sure what the scale will do tomorrow morning.

Still no exercise...........will try again tomorrow.

Happy losing!!

I'm popping in to say hi! I can totally relate to the emotional eating. I got to my highest weight by stuffing my emotions down with ice cream and chocolate almost every single night. It's something I still struggle with a lot. So great job on resisting that chocolate, and your loss 6.1 loss!! Keep it up! :)

Had an awesome Friday!!

Ate all the right food and I'm out of the 100's and finally into the 90's with me weight! Doing the happy dance:party:

Weight today 99.6kg.

Total loss 6.4kg.

Got lots to do this weekend but its all for our business and that I love!! I'm soooo blessed to do what I love PHOTOGRAPHY!!

Have a fab weekend y'all and stick to your diets!

So last nite while watching the Golden globe awards I had an additional slice of cheese which wasn't allowed on Cohens as I already had all my food for the day. So this morning when I weighed I was 100g more than yesterday. Pfffft!!

So today is cleaning day and I'm going to try and get a bit of treadmill in to see if the weightloss can go a bit quicker. However 14lb loss in just over 2 weeks is not bad.

Gonna keep focussed and just carry on!

Happy losing!

Hey thanks for stopping by my diary! :) I see you have been around this site for a while! As my diary says I am (was :) ) back to square one too.

It's interesting to see you using grams for weight loss! It kind of makes sense. kilos go so slow...!! I used kilos when I lived in Europe.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

Hey Mands, just went through you're whole diary... You've definitely had a lot of ups and downs the last few years! Make this the year you get to where you want to be!! Well done on your loss so far :D

Great going Mands. Cohen's gets easier as you go as you know. Try hard to stick with it 100%- you KNOW it works! It's tough.....but, boy does it work! Well done sweets, xo Cate

Ok so I haven't posted for a while cause we've been getting home a bit late every night.

Weight loss is going slow but its dropping. We went out for steak 2 nights ago which is allowed but obviously the preparation wasn't done the Cohen's way. So picked up 200g the next morning but I managed to drop it again today.

Justina - I do measure in grams because it makes me feel better if I see ANY loss.
Luzdafuzz - this year is going to be my year - I'm going to achieve ALL my goals this year. Gonna fight tooth and nail for it.
Cate - it sure is tough but the rewards are soooo BIG.

On a personal note. ...I'm so excited as we are launching our radio advert tomorrow. Being in a new country we need all the marketing we can get. Our aim is to book at least 70 weddings for the year. So holding thumbs!

Happy losing y'all!
