My Recovery from Obesity

Had some chocolate in my basket in the supermarket the other day, thought the better of it and put it back.
I would have eaten all of that within a few hours...
It is yummie, but chocolate has the power to push me of the wagon, so no more going in that aisle :)

M&Ms are one of my favorites... last week it was dark chocolate M&Ms and the coconut flavored ones, that tasted like mini Almond Joy bars. :drool5:

Weighed in at 350.4 this morning, down 0.4 lbs. Worked out on the Concept 2 Rower and the bike last night and feel a bit sore this morning. I *really* need to step up my workout schedule. Yesterday I harvested 60 lbs of Bing Cherries from my tree in the front yard. Now, what to do with them all...

Yank's an Idahoooo boy--But sure the beer will tempt him :p Not sure beer would ship too well, anyway! 60lbs worth of cherries! MAKE PIE.

You guys are a bunch of help! Cherry Pie?? Mixed Drinks??? ;)

Ok, in all fairness I started it by saying I was brewing beer, but I can say no to beer... Pie and drinks? Not so much...

The omly healthy cherry options i can come up with:

Obviously eating them fresh is the healthiest option, but not even the witches of eastwick could down that many.

freeze them in batches big enough to blend with lowfat greek yogurt for fruit smoothies. I have mixed frozen fruit/fresh fruit with lowfat Greek yogurt smoothies every morning for breakfast. I love when Rainers are in season and get added to the mix. Banana goes well with cherries in smoothies.

^ That's the only non-dessert/booze recipe I saw with cherries. I've never had it.

I've been MIA and slipping, but it sounds like you're still right on track Don! I was just noticing the numbers in your signature . That's pretty amazing. In just about 5.5 months you've lost over 100lb. That's pretty amazing! I really need to stick around and follow you because you sir are an true inspiration!

Quick check in.... I'll come visit your diaries this afternoon or evening...

Down to 349.4! Yea! Slow and steady is the name of the game right now. I'll take it though.

Below 350! You just keep passing all these milestones like they're nothing! I know you're working your butt off to get it done. Be proud of yourself! Yes, I know you already are! ;)

I haven't been checking in here much lately, and my commitment to losing aggressively has been at about the same level. Summertime is a challenge, as I have kids to deal with and more activities keeping me busy. I weighed in at 348 this morning, which is good, but I am not losing as quickly right now. That's fine. I'd like to be losing fast still, but I just don't have the desire to be that focused right now.

I've figured before, 90-100% effort gets me stellar results, like 0.5-1.5 lb loss days, 80-90% effort gets me a lighter loss like 0.25-0.5 lbs per day average, and less effort than that yields anywhere from a gain to a "no change" day. Right now, I am floating around a 75% effort, with occasional 2-3 day bursts of 90% effort. That's all I have to offer at this point.

I just finished my 5th Dietbet and won it as well, but am not in any others right now. I'll wait until I am focused and intense again... maybe later in July. In all, I have won about $150 for losing weight. That's cool. :D

I hope all is well with anyone reading. Keep up your efforts and never quit.

Hope you keep posting hun :D You've already come so far--you know what you're doing. Enjoy some down time with the kiddies xx

I hope you're doing well Don. Keep that slow loss going and you'll be fine. Maintaining the high level of intensity that you've had is very difficult. Just remember that slow or fast you're still getting there. Enjoy your summer!
