Here we go. Meh. So far it hasn't been great.
I've been trying to stick to 2500 caloried or less, but I had a few hiccups. I've had 2 days where I ate around 6000 calories, but this hasn't hurt me in my overall journey. I just got on my treadmill again, since about six months ago.
I'll be a lot happier when more weight comes off, but I visit this site every day, and it's been a big inspiration.
I've slowly gained weight over a long period of time, and I want to look good again. Pretty simple?
My ex wife, who is also my GF (...... kind of weird, but it works) has managed to lose a good chunk of weight, and I'm jealous of her! I also don't want to be the "fat guy" who is with a thinner woman. Also,... in case we do break up, I want to be able to be attractive to other womenz as well!
I've recently developed hip pain, and a little knee pain from being on my feet all day at work, and this is a HUGE motivator for me to lose weight.
I'm also TERRIFIED of things like diabetes, and hip and knee surgeries. I have developed some small skin tags on the side of my neck and armpit, and these are pretty gross things to have. I know my weight is the cause of these, and I never want to get any more of these either.
I used to be able to walk far, jog, and do a lot of exercise. I want to get to a point where I can do more exercise, because I believe that when I'll be able to lose weight much more easily when I can do more exercise. It helps keep me busy, and feeling good about myself, so I don't eat to feel better when I'm working out. Now, I can only do about 1/2 hour of walking on the treadmill at a fairly slow pace. I know that I should be able to increase this to a good level if I workout every day for a month, so I guess that should be one of my goals.
Well, I guess that's it. I've documented my goals, thoughts, and motivations.
I'm sure I'll add more sooner or later.
thanks.

Controlling your calorie intake is probably more important than increasing exercise to begin with. What is your current weight and height again?

Yeah this f'ing weight loss thing is like 90% nutrition, 2% exercise and 8% luck -_-
OK not really but yeah really.

I'm terrified of diabetes too. And sleep apnea. It's weird but I don't really think about things like heart attack or stroke but I'm ALWAYS thinking about those two.

good luck man... I have seen you posting often...

Out of curiosity, is "meh" in the title of your blog, like what Cartman says on South Park? Like... mehhhhhhhh (when he is whining and wants something?).. if so, that is freakin' awesome... if not, then in my head it's still awesome because that is how I am reading this.

Not far wrong, make that 8% luck into the exercise and you would be on the money :D

I was terrified of heart problems etc. Thank god being over weight never did me any long term problems, though i am having problems with my knees currently (due to exercise! badom tish!)

Sort of. It's sort of the new "blah", but it sounds way better. I didn't know it originated from Southpark, I just sort of picked it up from playing world of warcraft. (horde, retired)
....
Today.. I ate really well, but I'm quite hungry now, I won't eat, though!
I don't know how but.. I'm suddently addicted to getting good "grades" on the december challenge.
I had sort of an epiphany today....
here it is:
weight loss should be a lot easier than we make it. If you lose 4 lbs. a week you'll lose 40 lbs. in 10 weeks, and that's AWESOME!

I wish it was easier too! Best of luck dude :)

If only it was possible for me to lose 4 lbs a week! I have about 16 pounds to lose and I will be lucky if I make that goal in the next 3 months! It gets harder the closer you get!
Welcome to the forum!

Nah the body tends to do whatever the hell it wants even if you're doing good in both exercise and nutrition, so I gave the Luck stat more weight :p

We should theorize the exact amount of luck it takes to loose weight for fun, factor in the phases of the moon and all the other oddity diets people use lol :D

I found out where MEH comes from! The Simpsons!

Well.. my first two weeks have been painfully slow.
Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Oops. I almost wrote Merry Christmas then remembered you're Jewish :-/ :)
So I guess I'll just ask how you've been doing lately...? Slow and Steady does win the race but Fast and Reckless can be so damn fun sometimes ;)

Doing okay.
I ate out twice today! BUT, it's worst eating day I've had in about a week and a half, so that's progress. I'm going to have to do some serious making up for it the next few days. My workplace is on a week long holiday shut down right now, so, I'll have time to make it up and hit my goal for the December challenge.

well... I guess I'll update this every month.
My first month. Very little exercise due to some technical difficulties and being sick. have to change that. Also, I want to do some upper body visual improvement exercises. Push ups and curls immediately come to mind.
Yeah, my first month weight loss was slow, but it was still a good month. I lost 8 lbs. nothing to sneeze at. (Where on God's earth did that expression come from? LOL)
I'm slowly improving my eating habits, also, by including more salads, less fried stuff, less fries and burgers, and fast food overall.
This month I'm shooting for 15 lb. weight loss. and I'm pretty sure I can do this.
WEll... good luck to me and good luck to you. That's all folks!
